Abstract

Emotional intelligence (EI) is a critical component of development for elementary school children, shaping their ability to identify, regulate, and express emotions appropriately. A strategic aspect of this process is the role of parents as primary educators. This study aims to examine how parents contribute to developing EI in elementary school students in Puncak Indah Village. Using a qualitative case study design, data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation, with five families of elementary school children as key informants. The findings reveal that most parents actively serve as role models, mentors, facilitators, and motivators—demonstrating emotional regulation, providing consistent praise and motivation, and applying rational discipline. Despite challenges such as children’s gadget dependence and difficulties in managing social emotions, parents strive to create a supportive emotional environment. The study concludes that active parental involvement significantly enhances children’s EI development, underscoring the family’s role as the foundation for early character education.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine how the gamification-based OIDECCA learning model has an impact on students' motivation to excel in Natural Sciences (IPA) subjects in grade VII at SMP Negeri 6 Siak Hulu, Kampar Regency, in the 2024/2025 academic year. The OIDECCA (Observe, Idea, Design, Create, Communication, Reflection, and Assessment) model is an innovative approach that combines gamification elements to create an interactive, engaging, and encouraging learning experience. The method used was a quasi-experiment with a design of an unequal control group. The sample consisted of 54 students who were selected through a simple random sampling technique. Data collection instruments are in the form of questionnaires, observations, interviews, and documentation. The results showed a significant increase in achievement motivation in the experimental class with an average final score of 82.34%, compared to the control class which obtained 81.46%. The most improved indicator in the experimental class was learning independence. These findings show that the application of the gamification-based OIDECCA model is able to increase students' motivation to achieve, and can be recommended as an innovative learning strategy in science learning.

Abstract

Agricultural production is vital for income and food security in rural areas. However, in Manyaran District, Wonogiri Regency's rice farming livelihoods are increasingly threatened by climate change, environmental pressures, and policy shifts. This study evaluates the vulnerability of rice farmers' livelihoods using the Livelihood Vulnerability Index (LVI) and the LVI-IPCC framework. Data were gathered from 42 randomly selected households in seven villages, revealing an LVI score of 0.61 and an LVI-IPCC score of 0.04, indicating medium vulnerability to climate change. Key factors contributing to livelihood vulnerability include exposure to droughts, floods, pests, rising rice production costs, and climate variability. Adaptations include strong social networks, technological innovations like simple irrigation systems, and ecological adjustments like crop diversification with alternative and horticultural crops. The study recommends that the government enhance support for farmers in downstream areas by improving irrigation infrastructure, increasing reservoirs and wells, and providing training for developing home-based food industries. These measures are intended to bolster resilience and adaptation in agricultural livelihoods amidst environmental and policy challenges.

Abstract

Research Aims:  The goal of this study is to explore the impact of agile leadership, organizational culture on work-life balance of employees at the Regional Office I of the Badan Kepegawaian Negara (BKN).Design/methodology/approach:  The study was carried out at the Regional Office I of the Badan Kepegawaian Negara (BKN) in Yogyakarta, involving 104 participants chosen using purposive sampling.  Data was collected through a Likert scale questionnaire and evaluated through the Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) method.Research Findings: The finding of this research highlight that both agile leadership and organizational culture significantly influence work-life balance.  Statistical analysis revealed that these two factors have a vital impact on improving the balance between work and personal life for employees.  Agile leadership contributes to greater flexibility in work management, enhancing job satisfaction and employee motivation.  Meanwhile, organizational culture, particularly a supportive and inclusive culture, has an even stronger impact on work-life balance.  This indicates that a combination of adaptive leadership and a culture that focuses on the well-being of employees is crucial for achieving optimal performance in organizations.Theoretical Contribution/Originality: This research offers a valuable theoretical contribution by integrating the concepts of agile leadership and organizational culture in the context of work-life balance in public sector organizations, specifically in BKN.  It fills a gap in existing literature by demonstrating how these two variables can work together to enhance employee well-being.  Furthermore, the study broadens the understanding of how a supportive organizational culture, focusing on flexibility and balance, directly influences employee satisfaction and performance.  Therefore, this research provides a fresh perspective on how public organizations can manage work-life balance to improve productivity and long-term effectiveness

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of religiosity, lifestyle, price, and fashion trends on Muslim fashion purchasing decisions by Generation Z in Medan City. The method used is a quantitative approach with SEM-PLS analysis techniques through SmartPLS 4 software and involving 100 respondents. The results show that religiosity, lifestyle, and fashion trends have a significant influence on purchasing decisions, while price does not show a significant influence. The R² value of 57.3% indicates that the model can explain more than half of the variation in purchasing decisions. This finding reflects that Gen Z prioritizes religious aspects and lifestyle over price considerations, which is in line with the principles of consumption in Islamic economics namely, orientation towards needs, ethical values, and compliance with sharia. Keywords: Muslim fashion, religiosity, lifestyle, price, fashion trends, purchasing decisions

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the development strategy of Dimsum Makteng SME from an Islamic economic perspective. Using a qualitative approach and case study method, this research applies MVPO (Mission, Vision, Programs, Outcomes) analysis and SOAR analysis as analytical frameworks. The results show that Dimsum Makteng has implemented four main strategies: product diversification, marketing digitalization, human resource optimization, and operational efficiency. The main challenge lies in the use of capital from conventional banks that potentially contain elements of riba (usury). Strategic recommendations include capital restructuring using Islamic financing schemes, strengthening business practices based on Islamic values, and developing Islamic business networks. This research contributes to the integration of Islamic economic principles in SME development and provides practical implications for micro-business actors in implementing sharia business strategies. Keywords: SMEs, Development Strategies, Islamic Economics, Dimsum Makteng

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of organizational culture, professional competence, and motivation on teacher performance in junior high schools in Jeunieb Subdistrict, Bireuen Regency. The research is motivated by the underutilization of the Merdeka Mengajar Platform (PMM) in rural areas, highlighting the need for a holistic approach to enhance teacher performance. Using a quantitative method with an explanatory survey design, data were collected from 145 teachers through structured questionnaires and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with Partial Least Squares (PLS). The results indicate that both organizational culture and professional competence significantly influence teacher motivation, which in turn directly affects performance. The indirect effects via motivation were stronger than direct effects. Motivation emerged as a key mediating factor linking institutional and personal variables to improved PMM engagement. The findings underscore the importance of fostering a supportive work environment, strengthening professional capacity, and enhancing intrinsic motivation to promote meaningful engagement in technology-based professional development.
