Abstract

Bullying occurs frequently in educational and school environments, workplaces, homes, and playgrounds. North Sulawesi Province has a higher bullying rate than the national average, at 27.83 percent versus 26.80 percent. Bullying occurs more frequently among Grade 5 elementary school students than in middle and high school. The study seeks to identify the factors that contribute to bullying among the alpha generation in Manado, North Sulawesi Province. The qualitative research technique focuses on two elementary schools in Manado: Advent Tikala Elementary School for private elementary schools and SDN 06 state elementary schools. Data collection began with focus group discussions with children and their parents, followed by interviews with stakeholders such as teachers, school principals, childcare NGOs, universities, regional government (province, Manado city), and the media. Observations on behaviours that lead to bullying. Data about bullying in school has been documented. The data were analysed descriptively. Research on the variables that produce bullying, beginning with the family, has revealed parenting patterns, a lack of parental attention, verbal and nonverbal pressure, and kid copying. Both peers and children choose the wrong friends, engage in harmful behaviour, and establish gangs. Third, media (inappropriate use of gadgets, premature introduction of gadgets, and lack of parental control). The fourth culture involves calling their parents' names. The five schools have not implemented character education optimally, and educators have not improved their bullying prevention practices. The six internal/character characteristics are as follows: children with temperamental, envious, jealous, and spiteful personalities are more likely to be perpetrators, while quiet youngsters dislike socializing, and less bright children are the victims. Abstract

The operations of the Coastal Fishing Port Technical Services Unit (Port-TSU henceforth) in Pasongsongan face several challenges that obstruct port activities. First, the anchorage has become more shallow due to the sedimentation resulting from the Angsono River’s erosion. Second, the limited area of the anchoring pool makes it difficult for fishing boats to anchor. Third, the shipping lanes, just like the anchorage, have become more shallow due to sedimentation from the mouth of the Angsono River. Fourth, the limited loading and unloading docks result in long queues, which not only delay ship activities in the queue but also reduce the quality of catches. Fifth, the damaged roads and drainage systems around the port pose a challenge to the loading and unloading activities. Considering these challenges, this research aims to evaluate Port-TSU facilities in Pasongsongan, understand the causes of Angsono River sedimentation, and formulate development strategies for the Port-TSU. The results show that the condition of Port-TSU facilities is generally adequate according to Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Regulation No. 08 of 2012. However, the rapid erosion of the Angsono watershed caused the shallowing of the anchor pool and shipping lanes. The underlying causes are monoculture farming practices, lack of agroforestry implementation, and the absence of agricultural terracing systems. The development strategy recommendation is to dredge the anchorage and shipping lanes and extend the pier. Other recommendations include implementing watershed management through agroforestry and terracing systems in the Angsono River watershed to minimize erosion and increase loading and unloading capacity by adding a conveyor belt to accelerate processes and reduce ship queues.

Abstract

The cascara market in Indonesia has great potential due to the increasing interest in health-oriented beverages. However, PT Agritama Sinergi Inovasi (AGAVI) faces competitive challenges in the form of high supplier bargaining power, lack of awareness of the domestic market, and threats from substitute products such as tisane and herbal tea. This study aims to analyze the level of competition in the cascara business of PT Agritama Sinergi Inovasi (AGAVI) using Porter's Five Forces model. The research method used is a qualitative approach through interviews, observations, and documentation to collect data. Data analysis was carried out descriptively with source triangulation to ensure the validity of the findings. The results of the analysis show that the bargaining power of suppliers is at a high level, while the bargaining power of buyers and the threat of newcomers are at a medium level. The threat of substitute products is at a low level, while the level of competition between competitors is at a medium level, providing innovation opportunities for AGAVI. This research contributes to enriching the understanding of business competition in the health-based beverage market, especially in the sustainability-based beverage industry. These findings provide insights for AGAVI to improve competitiveness by expanding markets, especially for customer loyalty in the B2C segment, market education, and strengthening partnerships with local coffee farmers, while creating additional income opportunities for coffee farmers and supporting industry sustainability.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the history of the Indonesian spice route as part of Indonesia's maritime cultural heritage and Indonesia's role in the spice trade route. The method used in this research is a descriptive qualitative approach with literature studies, utilizing various sources from books, journals and articles as well as ethnography and oral interviews. The results of the research show that the trade network connecting the eastern and western hemispheres of the world is known as the spice route and its impact. towards the development of local cultural identity of Indonesian society. The spice route not only refers to the trade and shipping route for spice products, but also as a cultural heritage whose traces can still be found, such as in culinary, art, medicine, clothing, traditions and even art. At that time, merchandise such as cinnamon, pepper, cloves, nutmeg, sandalwood, rice, cotton and others were traded. This route is a symbol that connects the maritime civilization of the archipelago which is Indonesia's national pride so that it can provide a new contribution to understanding the complexity of the interaction between economic factors and cultural heritage in shaping the historical landscape of the archipelago.
