Abstract

One of the main factors causing flooding in an urban area is rainfall intensity. Perhaps this research has been widely discussed in other studies, but this research was conducted in an area with rainfall characteristics that are different from other areas, so this research is expected to provide further information for flood management and water structure design in related areas. The purpose of the research is to obtain and compare rain intensity methods in order to select a method that is suitable for rainfall characteristics in the sukarame area.  The short-term intensity calculation method uses the Mononobe method because this method only requires maximum daily rainfall data. The calculation of rain intensity approach uses Talbot and Sherman methods to find the appropriate rain intensity method. The results showed that high-intensity rain lasts for a short duration. From the comparison results, different rain intensity analysis results were obtained, this may be due to the use of different settings from each method. It is concluded that the Mononobe method with the Sherman equation is most suitable for rainfall characteristics. Key words : Rainfall Intensity, Mononobe, Talbot, Sherman, IDF Curve.

Abstract

This study analyzes the revetment structure located at Muli Beach, South Lampung, through wave analysis occurring at the beach. The stability of the coastal protection structure, revetment, at Muli Beach is of utmost importance due to safety and security concerns for beach users. If the revetment is unstable, it can cause damage to the structure and potentially pose hazards to the users. The aim of this research is to assess the stability of the revetment structure against high waves occurring at the beach. The analysis method employed in this study utilizes wave forecasting with a return period of 10 years. The analysis also encompasses the examination of the components constituting the revetment structure at Muli Beach. The research findings indicate that the composition of the revetment structure is unstable against high waves. The wave forecasting analysis at Muli Beach resulted in a significant wave height, Hs = 1,02 m and a wave height at breaking point Hb = 1,82 m. Regarding the structure's components, there are several shattered stones > 2, indicating inconsistency with the existing literature. In the analysis of the revetment toe protection, a stability coefficient value of Ns^3 = 290 was obtained, which can be considered safe. Based on these analysis results, it is recommended to implement necessary measures to prevent the collapse of the revetment structure during high wave events. Keywords: revetment, waves, stability, beach.

Abstract

AbstractIn class B aggregate foundation layer mixtures, the utilization of red soil can be used as an alternative material for a class B aggregate foundation layer binder. Aggregate binder is used to increase the bearing capacity of Class B aggregate foundation course. Red soil has shortcomings in its plasticity index value, therefore red soil needs to be stabilized with lime with the addition of a ceritain percentage to meet the standard plasticity index value of class B aggregate foundation layer requirement. The purpose of this study was to determine the utilization of lime-stabilized red soil as a binder for class B aggregate foundation layers by comparing CBR values. The method used was to compare the CBR values of class B aggregate foundation layer 100% red soil with a mixture of lime-stabilized red soil with the addition of 15% lime. The results of the CBR research of class B aggregate foundation layers show the addition of 15% lime stabilized red soil with a CBR value of 82,9%. For class B aggregate foundation layer 100% red soil, the CBR value was 69,7%.Keywords: Class B aggregate foundation layer, stabilized red soil, CBR

Abstract

The Bandar Lampung area which is quite routinely hit by floods is in Tanjung Karang Pusat District, the Jl. Wolter Monginsidi to Jl. Kartini. The reason is the high rainfall, as well as the curved road conditions and the performance of the drainage channel that is not optimal enough to accommodate the water discharge before carrying it to the Way Awi river which is on the road. The option that can be taken to reduce the risk of flooding is by evaluating the drainage channels on the road, taking into account the capacity of the drainage channels so that they are able to accommodate the flood discharge through them. The design discharge is calculated using hydrological analysis, rational methods, and based on maximum rainfall data for the last 10 years. For channel discharge capacity is calculated using hydraulics analysis and Manning's formula. The results of the analysis of the existing discharge capacity in most of the drainage channel segments are still able to accommodate the planned discharge with a 5-year return period of rain, so there is no need to increase the dimensions, except for segment 4, because the existing drainage capacity (Qs) is 0.700 m3/s smaller than design discharge (Qr) 1,238 m3/s. These conditions require the need to increase the dimensions of the drainage channel in order to accommodate the discharge through it.  Key words : drainage, hydrological analysis, hydraulic analysis, flooding.

Abstract

AbstractThe high occurrence rate of damage to buildings and infrastructure due to earthquakes necessitates a review or analysis of earthquake-resistant structural planning. Considering the importance of hospital functions, it is necessary to conduct an evaluation of the performance of the building structure under seismic loads using the latest standards to determine the structural suitability of the building. The level of safety in high-rise buildings is considered crucial to be known, so in this study, a case study was conducted on Building 5 of RSPTN UNILA using the method of response spectrum dynamic analysis. The structural analysis was calculated using a commercial structural analysis program in a three-dimensional model to determine whether the structure is safe or not according to the inter-storey drift limits specified in SNI 1726:2019. The results of the analysis show that as the earthquake acceleration increases, the drift value in the building structure also increases. The drift values obtained for the evaluated building are 15.5850% in the X direction and 19.3563% in the Y direction compared to the allowable drift. The drift (Δ) occurring in the building structure satisfies the allowable story drift (Δa) requirements according to SNI 1726:2019.Key words : structural performance, earthquake, dynamic analysis, spectrum response.
