Abstract

This research used four pieces of good quality merino descendent sheep skin and four pieces of good quality local sheep of glace leather produced from merino descendent sheep skin to that one from local sheep skin. Either merino descendent sheep skins or the local ones were processed into glase leather through the ordinary tanning method. Glace leather output from this research were visual investigated and physical tested. Statistical analysys points out that there is unsignify difference (P ≼ 0,05) the influence of the species either it is merino and the stretch of glaze leather. It is also unsignify difference (P ≼ 0,05) the influence of the species either it is merino descendent sheep skin or the local one to the quality of glaze leather.Pratical meaning of this research is that merino descendent sheep skin may be tanned into glaze leather having same quality to that one from local sheep skins.

Abstract

The objective of this research was to know the shrinked temperature of wet blue from goat an sheep skins that tanned by baychrome 2420, and for know amount of Cr2O3 was absorbed and axpelled. It was used 40 pieces goat and sheep skins (wet salted) preserved were tanned until wet blue used chromosal B and baychrome 2420 as chrome  tanning and the others auxiliary material were Na2S, lime, Oropon OR, NACl, HCOOH, H2SO4 etc. The results of this research showed that baychrome 2420 can used as material chrome tanning that wished for wet blue was the mean of shrinked temperature 100,670C, mean of Cr2O3 content 3,99%, and mean of Cr2O3 residue was expelled 1,54 g/l.  INTISARI Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat kemasakan (shrinked temperature) kuit wet blue dari kulit kambing / domba yang dimasak dengan baychrome 2420, serta untuk mengetahui jumlah Cr2O3 yang terserap dan terbuang. Dengan menggunakan 40 lembar kulit kambing / domba  awet garaman diproses hingga wet blue dengan menggunakan chromosal B dan baychrome 2420 sebagai bahan penyamak krom serta bahan pembantu diantaranya Na2S, kapur, oropon OR NaCl, HCOOH, H2SO4, dan lain-lain. Dari hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa baychrome 2420 dapat digunakan sebagai bahan penyamak yang menghasilkan wet blue dengan suhu kerut rata-rata 100,670C, kadar Cr2O3 rata-rata 3,99 % serta Cr2O3 yang terbuang rata-rata 1,54 g/l.

Abstract

The aim of the research was to make use of cow scrotum hides to be raw material in leathergood manufacturing. Forty five pieces of scrotum hides were tanned to crust leather using subsequently 6%, 8% and 10% mineral tanning agent; 15%, 20% and 25% vegetable tanning agent; 15%, 20% and 25% synthetic tanning agent. The physical test results indicated that scrotum cow hides were able to be made use as raw material in leathergood manufacturing. The best tensile strength value was achieved by those tanned with mineral tanning agent 10% (175,33 kg/cm2) and the best elongation at break was achieved by those tanned with synthetic tanning agent 15% (41,00%). Where as by using vegetable tanning agent, no single sample fulfilled the requirements of SNI. 06-0253-1989, Quality and Testing method for Glaced Kid Leather.   INTISARI  Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memanfaatkan kulit skrotom sapi sebagai bahan baku industri barang kulit. Empat puluh lima buah kulit skrotom sapi disamak menjadi kulit kras dengan bahan penyamak mineral 6%; 8%; 8% dan 10%, penyamak nabati 15%%; 20% dan 25%, penyamak sintetis 15%; 20% dan 25%. Hasil uji fisika menunjukkan bahwa kulit skrotom sapi bisa dimanfaatkan menjadi bahan baku industry barang kulit. Kekuatan tarik terbaik adalah dengan bahan penyamak mineral 10% (175,33 kg/cm3) dan kemuluran yang terbaik adalah dengan bahan penyamak sintetis 15% (41,00%). Sedangkan dengan bahan penyamak nabati tidak ada yang memenuhi persyaratan SNI.06-0253-1989 Kulit Glace Kambing, Mutu dan Cara Uji.

Abstract

The objective of this study is know the effect of ide poison and formaline in the dried curing of goat skin. This study used 199 goat skins that were devided into seven groups od curing. Each group consisted of 17 goat skins. Those groups were : 3 groups of dried curing by hide poison of 0,1%, 0,3% and 0,5%; 3 groups of dried curing by formaline of 1%, 3% and 5%; and 1 groups of dried curing without any preserevation agent as control. After having stored for about 4 months, those skins then to be analized. Physical and chemical analysis werw carried out to evaluate the quality of the skin. Completely randomized design by Duncan’s test was used to analyze the dta. Based on this statistical analysis we can know that: the effect of hide poson in the dried curing of goat skins was the best. The quality of goat skins that were cured by hide poison was as follows : - the average tensile strength was the highest (886,30 kg/CM2), - the average of stretch was the lowest (14,50%), - the average iof hardness was the highest (201,90 kg/2,54 Cm), - the water content was the lowest (20%), and the damage was the smallest (10%).

Abstract

The aim of this research is to find out the influence on the woven fabric of synthetic leather to the quality of the sport shoes conducted by physical test. This research compare the flannel material with cotton and polyester material. Tresult of the physical test of the tensile strength elongation at break, peel resistances value both vertically or horizontally showed that synthetic leather flannel of the sport shoes significantly different with the cotton and polyester synthetic leather of the sport shoes. However for tearing resistance whether vertically or horizontally, flannel material syntactic leather and cotton polyester synthetic leather for the sport shoes are not significantly different. INTISARI Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh bahan penguat kulit imitasi untuk atasan sepatu ditinjau dari uji fisis. Penelitian ini memvariasikan jenis bahan penguat untuk bahan kulit imitasi, yaitu bahan kain flannel dan bahan kain kaos. Dari hasil pengujian sifat fisis menunjukkan bahwa: tegangan putus, perpanjangan putus, ketahanan rekat baik arah melintang maupun arah membujur bahan penguat kain flanel kulit imitasi untuk atasan sepatu dengan bahan penguat kain kaos kulit imitasi untuk atasan sepatu perbedaan tidak nyata.

Abstract

 The  fleshing waste ratio of leather processing is very high, that was about 70-230 kgs/ton of raw material. Those waste containing high amount of protein. The aim of this experiment was to know the influenceof fleshing powder on the increasing of broiler body weight. This experiment was classified into two steps. The first step was focused on the preparation of fleshing powder. The second step was the application of fleshing powder as protein substitute of broiler feed. The results showed  that the quality of fleshing powder prepared by pressurize steaming at 2 atm for 15 min was better than by unpressurized method. The additional and the final weight of broilers feed by fleshing powder were not significantly difference with the control. Therefore, fleshing powder could be used as protein substitute on the prepraration of broiler feed instead of fish powder.  Key words : fleshing, protein powder,broiler feed, friendly environment.

Abstract

13 (thirteen) samples of Rubber hospital shetting of various trademark which were taken from manufacturers and markets in Bandung, Yogyakarta and Surabaya, had been tested for the purpose of this research. Quality of rubber hospital sheeting is determined by factors that onsure either the strength or wearm by testing them in accorfance with test method as described in ASTM.It could be found from the test results that : the thickness was 0,406 0,506 mm, breaking strength 54,47 – 77,85 kg/cm2. Elongation ata break 99,8% -147,8%.The rubber hospital sheeting was also subjected to hyfrostatic water resistance test and no leakange was accured.It had good steam strikization, accelerated Aging, phenol and alcohol resistance aw well. INTISARI Dalam penelitian ini telah diuji 13 sample perlak karet untuk rumah sakit dari berbagai merk yang diambil langsung dari pabrik maupun pasaran di darah Bandung, DI Yogyakarta dan Surabaya.Mutu perlak karet untuk rumah sakit ditentukan berdasarkan pada factor-faktor yang menajmin menutut ASTM. Dari hasil pengujian diperoleh hasil sebagai berikut tebal 0.406 – 0.506 mm, tegangan putus 54.48 77.85 Kg/cm2, pepanjang putus 99.8 – 147,8 %. Pelak karet yang diuji tidak tembus air dalam pengujian hydrostatic water resistance, juga mempunyai ketahanan terhadap sterilisasi uap, ketahanan terhadap penguasangan, ketahanan terhadap ketahanan terhadap alkokol yang baik.

Abstract

In order to improve the abrasion resistance of sport shoes rubber soles, 9 rubber compound formula has been observed, with variation in using of calcium silicate and aluminium silicate as filler and naphtenic oil as softener. The result of this research showed that the best value of the abrasion resistance was 0,0485 mm3/kgm and it fulfilled the requirements of Indonesian National Standard 0171-1987-A, Canvas shoes with rbber sole for sports. It constitutes the formula of 100 parts (by weight) of natural rubber, 25 parts of calcium silicate, 25 parts of aluminium silicate and 8 parts of naphtenic oil. The usage of 50 parts of calcium silicate and aluminium silicate fillers with 8-10 parts of naphtenic oil didn’t influence more on the hardness and its value fulfilled the requirements of Indonesian National Standard 0171-1987-A. INTISARI Untuk meningkatkan ketahanan kikis sol karet sepatu olah raga, telah diteliti 9 formulasi kompon karet dengan variasi penggunaan bahan pengisi kalsium silikat dan aluminium silikat serta bahan pelunak minyak naptenik. Dari hasil penelitian diperoleh nilai ketahanan kikis terbaik sebesar 0,485 mm3/kgm dan memenuhi persyaratan SNI. 0171-1987-A, Sepatu Kanvas Dengan Sol Karet Untuk Olah Raga yang merupakan formulasi dengan menggunakan 100 bagian karet alam, 25 bagian kalsium silikat, 25 bagian aluminium silikat dan 8 bagian minyak naptenik. Penggunaan 50 bagian bahan pengisi kalsium silikat dan aluminium silikat dengan 8-10 bagian bahan pelunak minyak naptenik tidak memberikan pengaruh yang besar pada kekerasan, dan diperoleh nilai yang   memenuhi persyaratan SNI. 0171-1987-A.

This paper suggested a design and prototype of waste water process equipment of chrom tanning leather industry. This prototype describes the biological treatment of leather industry effluent with B.O.D. reduction from 500 mg/1 to 30 mg/1.
