Abstract

Analysis of Biodiversity of Understorey Plants in Jompi Protected Forest was held in Wali Village, Watopute district in Muna Regency, Southeast Sulawesi Province. This study was conducted in August-November 2015. The objective of this  study is to determine the types of understorey plants and how the level of species biodiversity in Jompi Protected Forest. This study was by using a purposive sampling method. Analysis of the vegetation was by using line method terraced. Sampling unit measuring 2m x 2m plot, the number of sample plots altogether are 30 plots, with a distance of 200 meters each path were arranged systematically.The results found that the species of understorey plants in Jompi Protected Forest are 31 species in 18 families. The kind that has a density, frequency and the index value of the highest importance are the type of signal grass (Brachiaria decumben). Total value of species diversity index (H ') of understorey plants in the Jompi Protected Forest is  2,99 (very high abundance). Keywords: Jompi protected forest, understorey plants, biodiversity

Abstract

Hutan suaka margasatwa Tanjung Peropa merupakan salah satu hutan konservasi di Provinsi Sulawesi Tenggara yang  ditetapkan sebagai tempat perlindungan satwa khas, dan merupakan perwakilan ekosistem hutan hujan tropika dengan tipe vegetasi hutan non Dipterocarpaceae, hutan belukar, hutan pantai dan hutan bakau yang terdiri dari jenis-jenis tumbuhan dan satwa liar yang dilindungi.  Potensi cadangan C pada hutan suaka margasatwa sangat penting diketahui, sehingga pengukuran potensi C di atas permukaan tanah pada suaka margasatwa Tanjung Peropa dilakukan terhadap tingkat vegetasi pohon dan tiang melalui metode non desturuktif, dan tumbuhan bawah dilakukan dengan metode destruktif.  Selain itu, pengukuran nekromassa dan serasah dilakukan secara langsung.  Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan sampel pengamatan melalui plot-plot pengamatan berukuran 20 m x 20 m untuk tingkat vegetasi pohon dan nekromassa, 10 m x 10 m untuk tiang, dan 1 m x 1 m untuk tumbuhan bawah dan serasah.  Hasil pengukuran menunjukkan bahwa potensi cadangan C di atas permukaan tanah pada hutan suaka margasatwa Tanjung Peropa adalah rata-rata sebesar 327.64 t ha-1 yang terdiri dari : tingkat pohon sebesar rata-rata 322.99 t ha-1, tumbuhan bawah 0.93 t ha-1, nekromassa 0.22  t ha-1, dan serasah 3.5 t ha-1.  Hasil pengukuran potensi cadangan C di atas permukaan tanah pada hutan suaka margasatwa Tanjung Peropa tersebut tergolong cukup tinggi, maka dengan mempertahankan kelestarian hutan suaka margasatwa yang tersebar di seluruh Indonesia dapat berperan sebagai penyerap C yang paling efisien dan memberikan kontribusi bagi pasokan udara bersih dan mengurangi dampak pemanasan global. Katakunci :  ekosistem, hutan suaka margasatwa, perubahan iklim, dan simpanan karbon

Abstract

Utilization of climatic information and physical characteristics of the soil to determine the soil water balance in agriculture is a very important factor because it relates to the planning model of activity to be undertaken. This is important because the output is known a periods of surplus and deficit water of the regions. Periods of surplus and deficit is implications for the length of growth period available to facilitate the planning of agricultural models that will be developed. The planning agricultural model is still oriented to the needs of farmers and the willingness of the government, not based on the climatic information and physical characteristics of the soil. Abstract

Agroforestry developmet analysis in Lasalimu Regency, Buton District, Southeast Sulawesi province aimed to evaluate existing agroforestry system that has been implemented by local farmers in this area and to provide land use development strategy based on socio economic and land suitability evaluation. Focus Group Discussion (FGD) with local farmers was carried out in Prediagnosis and Diagnosis Phase in order to explore problems and constrains that faced by stakeholders. While Land Suitability Analysis was conducted to develop a proper land use in accordance with its suitability classes. This study found that there are two agroforestry systems based on the existing components, namely agrisilviculture and agrisilvopastura. Problems and constraints encountered by local farmers were lack of education, lack of skills, especially in silviculture aspect, low agribusiness management skill and low acsess to financial sources. Land suitability analysis showed that in general,land suitability ratings for woody crops and perennial crops were categorized as moderately suitable (S2), marginally suitable (S3) and Not Suitable (NS) while those for annual crops / non rice food crops were categorized as marginally suitable (S3) and Not Suitable (NS). The study also found that there are significant land area that are suitable for livestock development through agrosilvopasture system. In conclusion, agroforestry system can be potentially implemented in Lasalimu Regency with on the improvement of local farmers’s capacity and the development of appropriate technology. Key words: agroforestry, focus group discussion, land suitability, land development.

Abstract

The study aimed to identify the total volume of clean water consumption and total economic value of hydrological services used for domestic and agricultura needs. The research was carried out in Lakomea Village, Landono District of South Konawe Regency since May to June 2015. The study employeed survey and depth interview with key respondents.  Location of the study was determined using Purposive Sampling Method. While respondents were identified in the two stages : (1) Respondents are grouped in the two major gorups using Stratified Sampling Method namely: (a) Domestic water user group; and (b) Irrigation water consumers group. (2) Respondents for the domestic water users were then determined using Simple Random Sampling, whereas for irrigation water consumersusing Sensus Sampling Method with consideration that the number of users of irrigation water were only 3 families. Data analysis was conducted using Hedonic Price for water domestic used and Productivity Method for the agricultural used.The results of the research showed that the total volume of water usage over the past year using by135 families obtained 27.504 m3/year. While the economic value of this domestic waterused reached Rp. 16.197.930,72/year.  The research also revealed that the economic irrigation water for rice fields achieved Rp. 1.811.950,00/Planting Season. In conclusion, Total Economic Value of the hydrological environmental services of Lakomea Productive Forest Area of Landono District, South Konawe Regencyobtained Rp. 18.009.880,72/year.Keywords: Valuation, Environmental Services, Domestic Use of Water, Agricultural Use of Water, Total Economic Value

Abstract

This study aims to evaluating plant growth from revegetation activity results, and visualize the structure stands in the study area.  The research was conducted at the revegetation site of the South mine block  of  PT. ANTAM Tbk UPB Pomalaa, district Kolaka, Southeast Sulawesi, since january to december 2013.  This study uses survey method, determining the location of sampling using purposive sampling and shape of sample plots are terraced lines.  The variables of this study is the number of species, species density and diversity of species.  The data were analyzed using quantitative descriptive analysis.  sexi-FS software is used to get a visualization of the distribution of vegetation and  stratification of canopy that similar with the field situations.  The results showed that an increasing number of species on the level of vegetation trees and saplings.  While at the level of the pole number of species encountered are the same as the previous monitoring period.  As in the seedling stage noticeable decrease in the number of types.  Vegetation density increased in the group of trees and poles, while the density of saplings decline though not significantly.  The level of diversity showed significant improvements at the tree level, while at other levels decreased quantity though not significantly.  The spread of vegetation indicates a uniform distribution pattern (uniform).  Stratification headers are composed mainly of at most 3 stratum, that is  C, D and E, even some are only composed by two strata only, that is  D and E. This shows that, overall, the plant community is still in the process of growth to reach climax.Key Words ;  Revegetation, Vegetation analysis, Visualization stand structure,  PT. Antam,Tbk.

Abstract

Forest hydrological environmental service such as water resource was one of the most important environmental services produced by forest. The objective of this study is factors affected the society in determining the analyz economic valueof forest hydrological environmental service. This research used Willingness to Pay (WTP) method as appreciation of Laroonaha community village to the hydrological environmental services of productive forest area surrounding. Besides, Multiple Regressions method used to determine the main factor influenced the community in deciding the economic value.The result of this research showed that the total of water consumption yielding from productive forest area of Loi-loiyo Mountain by the Laroonaha society is 1.039,5 m3/month with an average usage about 14,4375 m3/KK/month or about 12.474 m3/year with an average usage of 173,25 m3/KK/year.The value of total WTP hydrological environmental services for the Laroonaha society was about Rp. 6.543.652/monthwith an average value of WTP about Rp. 6.295/KK/month. The main factor affected the respondents WTP value was the average of the respondent family income to determine on the confidence level of 99%, whereas the number of family member and the educational level was not significantly affected, with standard error 20% and 5%. Keywords: EconomicValuation, Hydrological Environmental Service,Willingness to Pay.

Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian takaran terbaik hyponex merah terhadap sporulasi FMA lokal asal rizosfer kayu kuku. Penelitian dilakukan di Rumah Plastik Asosiasi Mikoriza Indonesia Cabang Sulawesi Tenggara dan Laboratotium Jurusan Kehutanan Fakultas Kehutanan dan Ilmu Lingkungan UHO selama bulan Mei-September dengan menggunakan Rancangan Faktorial Acak Lengkap (RAL) dua faktor yaitu faktor pertama  jenis FMA diantaranya Glomus sp. dan Acaulospora sp. dan faktor kedua yaitu hyponex merah diantaranya kontrol, 1 g/L, 2 g/L dan 3 g/L. Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan kolonisasi dan sporulasi FMA Glomus sp. pada perlakuan tanpa pemberian hyponex seiring dengan waktu pengamatan. Jenis FMA Glomus sp. mampu meningkatkan nodulasi, jumlah daun dan berat kering tanaman seiring dengan meningkatnya takaran hyponex merah. Abstract

This study aims to determine in the mining area of PT Bumi Konawe Abadi District of Motui the period 2009 and 2015.  Processing is done by using a computer that is equipped with ArcGIS software. Implementation of this study consists of several stages. that is  pre-processing, digital image processing, classification OBIA, vicual interpretation, ground check and Land Cover Change Analysis.  The results showed that in the period 2009 to 2015 there are 6 classes of land cover has decreased the extent of that class of forests, farms, mixed farms, secondary mangrove forests, water and shrubs. There are sour classes of land cover the increased area is mine, open land, fields, and settlements. The greatest extent of the decline occurred in forest cover has decreased by -171.22 ha area. The addition of the greatest extents occurred on land cover Mine is 167.44 ha.  Key words :  land cover and changes, Mining area, Forest.

Abstract

ABSTRAKBambu di Indonesia diperkirakan 157 jenis, dan 50% diantaranya merupakan bambu endemik Indonesia. Umur panen yang relatif cepat yaitu 3 - 4 tahun serta mudahnya bambu tumbuh dan berkembang menjadikan bambu semakin banyak diminati oleh pengrajin untuk menafaatkan bambu dalam berbagai macam bentuk. Permasalahan yang kemudian timbul adalah umur pakai bahan yang terbuat dari bambu tidak bertahan lama karena rentan terhadap organisme perusak seperti kumbang bubuk dan rayap, permasalahan ini juga dirasakan oleh masyarakat Sulawesi Tenggara yang banyak memanfaatkan bambu dalam kehidupan sehari-harinya. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh ekstrak daun cengkeh (Syzygium aromaticum) sebagai bahan pengawet alami bambu betung (Dendrocalamus asper backer) terhadap serangan kumbang bubuk, serta memanfaatkan daun cengkeh sebagai pengawet alami. Perbandingan ekstrak daun cengkeh yang digunakan yaitu 0,75%, 1 % dan 1,5 %. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pengawetan bambu betung dengan pengawet alami dari ekstrak daun cengkeh berpengaruh sangat nyata terhadap retensi dan penurunan berat bambu. Pemberian ekstrak daun cengkeh dengan konsentrasi 1,5 % memberikan hasil yang lebih baik untuk semua variabel pengamatan.Kata Kunci : Bambu betung, pengawetan, kumbang bubuk, ekstrak kulit cengkeh
