Abstract

This study aims to describe the interpenetration process between Christianity and Tribal religion in the Cuci Negeri ritual in Hukurila. The description is based on a strong dialectical process between belief systems to look for forms and give each other values in community rituals. The belief system and public narratives in interpreting this ritual are living texts, which make this study use hermeneutic analysis. From the hermeneutic analysis of the text, the Cuci Negeri ritual that experiences an interpenetration process has given birth to new values in the Hukurila community. The new value then becomes a shared value in the belief system of the Hukurila community.interpenetrasi; agama Kristen; adat; cuci negeri; cuci hati; Hukurila.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the role of local institutions in the establishment of preparedness habitus and the development of disaster mitigation in Mount Kelud area of Kediri Regency using the structural-constructivist approach of Pierre Bourdieu. This research is qualitative research in nature so that the data collection is conducted by participant observation, document tracking, and in-depth interview. The results showed that local institutions that play a role in the formation of disaster prepared habitus and mitigation development in the Mount Kelud area are formal institutions e.g. BPBD of Kediri, District and Village, and informal institutions namely the Jangkar Kelud Community and the Village Disaster Preparedness Team. The research also found that collaborative roles between leaders and local leaders have contributed greatly to the formation of disaster preparedness habitus for residents of Mount Kelud Slopes. This evident showed when residents of Mount Kelud were able to evacuate and rescue independently and could minimize casualties and adapt to the current situation when Mount Kelud erupted in 2014. In the formation of preparedness habitus and disaster mitigation leaders and local leaders use the knowledge and local wisdom as capital value to develop the attitude of life "Harmony with Mount Kelud", and the principle of life 'Sitik Edang ". For local residents, Mount Kelud is a part of their daily life that cannot be separated socio-culturally. The existence of the Suro Ox Myth and the Larung Sesaji Kelud cultural practice are some collective memories that can be used as cultural mitigation for the community in disaster management.

Abstract

Dialogue and co-existence between religious believers have been practiced quite extensively in Indonesia, especially since the New Order era. From the beginning, it did happen top-down because of the government's political strategy to create a peaceful and stable society for the success of physical development. However, in subsequent developments, the importance of changing approaches to dialogue and cooperation between religious believers was considered as an urgent matter. Therefore, the active involvement of citizens and the creation of social spaces for the interaction and encounter of citizens of different religions, ethnicities and cultures have been initiated and practiced by the government in many regions of Indonesia. Unfortunately, intolerant and exclusive attitudes among citizens still occur. By using philosophical inquiry methods to analyze various practices of interreligious dialogue in Indonesia, it was found that first, there has been a change in approach in interreligious dialogue in Indonesia. Second, it is increasingly being realized that social spaces for encounters between different citizens must continue to be expanded as a medium to combat intolerant attitudes. Third, caring ethics, especially aspects of attention, can be a moral and philosophical foundation that strengthens caring interactions between citizens in the social space that has been formed
