Abstract

A high level of interest among Indonesians in performing Umrah, a religious tourism, creates the opportunity for banking industries, especially XYZ Sharia bank branch which provides Umrah financing services for the Indonesian Muslim community. The objectives of this study were 1) to analyze the influence of mixed marketing on customer loyalty of XYZ Sharia Bank branch; 2) to analyze the influences of the marketing mix to customer satisfaction of XYZ Sharia Bank branch; 3) to analyze the influence of customer satisfaction on customer loyalty of XYZ Sharia Bank branch; 4) to formulate a marketing strategy to increase customer loyalty of XYZ Sharia Bank branch. This study was conducted using a descriptive method through a case study approach. The data were collected through questionnaires with non-probability sampling technique by using a convenience sampling method. The data were analyzed by using Structural Equation Modeling based on partial least square (PLS-SEM). The PLS SEM analysis results indicated that the mixed marketing is influential on customer satisfaction of XYZ Sharia Bank branch with the influential dimensions of products, prices, employees and processes. Besides, mixed marketing also is significantly influential on customer loyalty of XYZ Sharia Bank branch with the influential dimensions of products, prices, employees, physical evidence and processes. The results of the analysis using ANP demonstrated that implementing cooperation with various travels and Umrah Travel Association in Indonesia is the priority key to improve the marketing of Umrah financial products in Syariah Bank branch by the weight score of 56,03%.Keywords: ANP, mixed marketing, consumer satisfaction, consumer loyalty, Structural Equation Modelling (SEM)-PLS

Abstract

The purposes of the study were: (1) to analyze the influence of leadership style and work motivation on organizational commitment; (2) analyze the influence of leadership style, employee motivation, and organizational commitment to employee performance; (3) analyze the effect of leadership style on job motivation; (4) analyze the effect of work motivation on leadership style. The data were collected by using questionnaire with 81 respondents, and subsequently processed by the method of Structural Equation Modelling of Lisrel Program. The results of the study showed that leadership style has the most influencing impact regarding the indicators of the reward explanation. Work motivation which has the most influencing impact is the pride indicators in completing works. The organizational commitment which has the most influencing impact is the indicator of the organization boasts to others. Performance which has the most influencing impact is indicated by the ability to cooperate with others. Thus, leadership style has a greater influence on organizational commitment than on performance. Work motivation also has a greater influence on organizational commitment than on performance. The organizational commitment has the most impact on performance compared to the leadership style and motivation, while leadership style has a greater influence on work motivation than work motivation on leadership styles.Keywords: leadership style, employee performance, organizational commitment, work motivation

Abstract

The objectives of the research were to analyze the employee workload, and calculate the optimum labor at PTPN IV. Work sample was the method used to analyze the workload of the employees, and WISN (Workload Indicator of Staffing Needs) was used to calculate the optimum labor. Through the work sample collection technique of WISN, the analysis of workload and calculation of labor were conducted. The utilization of working time of the plant assistants was 77.5 % for their productive activity, 13.7 % for their personal activity, and 8.3 % for their-non-productive activity. Furthermore, the utilization of working time of the processing technique assistants was 82.1 % for their productive activity, 11.7 % for their personal activity and 6.2 % for their non-productive activity. This shows that the workload for the plant assistants is reasonably high and that for the processing techniques assistants is high. Through the method of WISN, the average calculation results showed that there is an excess of two employees of plants and a shortage of two employees for the processing technique. The managerial implications that can be used as input include the need of the company to conduct a reassessment of the planning of Human Resources of PTPN IV functional unit in terms of recruitment, competency and conducted training.Key words: workload, work sampling, labor requirement, WISN

Abstract

The global financial crisis has affected the banking condition in Indonesia, and the impact of this financial crisis has disturbed the banking financial performance. Bank Perkreditan Rakyat is a bank which specializes in serving the middle-lower community levels especially the micro, small and middle scaled entrepreneurships in meeting their capital through the procedures of cheap loan provision and simple loan mechanism. The objective of the research is to analyze factors influencing the level of loan distribution at BPR, and the factors include the variables of the third party fund, Non-Performing Loan (NPL), loan interest, Loan to Deposit Ratio (LDR), Operational Cost on Operational Income (OCOI), and Return on Assets (ROA).The secondary data collection in this research included data time series. The analysis methods used were the descriptive analysis and double linier regression using Minitab 17. The result showed that the variables of the third party fund, and Loan to Deposit Ratio (LDR) had a significantly positive influence on the loan distribution rate. The variables of NPL, loan interest rate, and OCOI had a significantly negative influence on loan distribution rate whereas the variable of ROA was not significantly influential toward the load distribution rate. The most important factor that needs to take into account in increasing bank loan distribution is offering a competitive interest rate.Keywords: DPK, NPL, loan interest rate, LDR, OCOI, ROA, loan distribution/disbursement

Abstract

The aims of the research are to evaluate the academic performance progress of the six study programs of IPB after the certification of AUN-QA. The research was a case study in six study programs that had been certified by AUN-QA until December 2014. This research was conducted with the objectives of defining the relevant indicators of BSC IPB and AUN-QA criteria, analyzing the criteria values of AUN-QA after the AUN-QA certification, analyzing the academic performance based on KPI BSC after the AUN-QA certification, and analyzing the problems in improving academic performance as the basis for the formulation of strategies for improving academic quality. The method used in this research was the balanced scorecard approach (BSC). The results showed that the certification of AUN-QA contains 15 relevant criteria and supports the achievement of BSC IPB. Key performance indicators (KPI) BSC IPB supported by the AUN-QA criteria consist of 21 of the 33 indicators of BSC IPB, and 14 of them are relegated to the BSC department indicators. The AUN-QA criteria values on the study program have increased with the highest criterion value in student quality and the lowest one in support staff quality. The weak criteria required to be improved include support staff quality, student assessment, stakeholder feedback, and program specification.Keywords: AUN-QA certification, academic performance, balanced scorecard

Abstract

The quality of a university is not only measured by its academic program inputs but also by its processes, outputs, and outcomes. Performance measurement can be conducted by looking at its achievements at a certain period of time compared with its targets and baseline. It is a fact that the academic implementation of the Undergraduate Program of Computer Science of Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Science IPB is unsatisfactory viewed from the average GPA and study duration during the academic years of 2009-2013. This study aims to to describe the quality of the implementation of the Undergraduate Program of Computer Science and the efforts made by the stakeholders in maintaining and improving the quality and to formulate alternative strategies to obtain better quality. Fishbone analysis method was used to determine the cause of an unsatisfactory average GPA and longer study duration, and descriptive analysis was used to describe the academic quality of the undergraduate program of Computer Science. The results showed the academic quality of the academic year of 2009-2013 has not reached the targets set in the strategic plan, but if seen from the figures, its accomplishments have nearly reached the targets; therefore, it can be said the quality is reasonably good. Constructive efforts in running the academic administration of the study program have also been implemented by the management.Keywords: academic quality, period of study, quality improvement, FMIPA IPB

Abstract

Currently, the mining sector is still one of the main sectors driving the economy of Indonesia and is in demand by both indigenous and foreign investors. Asphalt mixing plant business unit (AMP BU) is currently the main priority scale of PT Prayoga. The AMP UB excellent performance of PT Prayoga enable itself to be able to contribute to the company's revenue and accelerate development of infrastructure in Bogor. The objectives of the research were to identify key performance indicator (KPI) that is applied in the financial and non-financial perspectives as well as to evaluate the performance of UB AMP of PT Prayoga in terms of financial and non-financial aspects based on the vision, mission and strategy of the company. The method used in this research was the balanced scorecard as a management tool to maintain a balance between the financial (financial perspective) and non-financial (customer perspective, business processes, learning and growth) indicators. The results showed that the KPI applied in the evaluation of the performance of AMP BU of PT Prayoga consists of 19 indicators including 5 KPI of financial perspective, 5 KPI of customer perspective, 5 KPI of business process perspective, and 4 KPI of learning and growth perspective. The assessment results indicate this business unit obtained the performance index of 78.42% included in the criterion of very good or excellent, thus it has shown its best performance according to the vision, mission and strategy of the company.Keywords: balanced scorecard, performance assessment, performance index, KPI, mining

Abstract

The objective of this research is to examine the factors that determine the interest in using Instagram in making online purchases. This study also analyzes the pattern of attitude relationship, subjective norms, behavioral control, and uses on interest in using Instagram for online purchases. In addition, the purpose of the research is to analyze whether there are contributions of usability and convenience toward the attitudes and easiness in using the Instagram toward the usage. Data analysis tool used is the structural equation modeling (SEM) which is based technology acceptance model (TAM) and theory of planned behavior (TPB). The results showed that subjective norms significantly influence the interest in using Instagram for online purchases; however, behavior control factors, usability and attitude are not significantly influential. Attitude is a factor that has the greatest influence among other factors. Instagram users from companies/businesses that intend to make use of Instagram as their digital marketing media need to pay attention to aspects of attitudes, subjective norms, behavioral control and usability.Key words: model of technology acceptance, consumer behavior, Structural Equation Modelling (SEM), social media

Abstract

The objectives of the research are to identify and prioritize issues that affect the performance of the tire production process, give a number of solutions, and map the value stream of the future (future state mapping). One of the tools used to accurately map the current conditions of the production process in lean manufacturing concept is value stream map/VSM. Another measuring instrument used to increase productivity is the overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), which includes time availability, engine performance and quality. From the three variables, it can be seen that the downtime variable has the largest contribution resulting in low value of the OEE. Based on the OEE data, product time change reached 18,8%, and waiting period contributed as much as 4,9% of the total downtime. To reduce the product change time, SMED method (Single Minutes Exchange Dies) is applied at the change of bladder in curing machine, and visual control and poka-yoke applications are also applied to reduce the waiting time. All improvement activities conducted are reflected in the map of the future, including the increase in outputs from the curing machine from 7,814 tires to 8,205 tires per day.Keywords: lean manufacturing, OEE, tire, SMED, map of value chart

Abstract

The objectives of this study are 1) to analyze and measure the impacts of internal performance variables of the conventional and Islamic banking toward profitability; 2) to analyze and measure the impacts of macro-economic variables influencing the profitability of conventional and Islamic banking. This research used Granger causality and Vector Auto Regressive (VAR)/Vector Error Correction Model (VECM) as the data analysis tools. The results of this study confirm that Islamic banking has a more stable profitability in response to macroeconomic conditions as compared to the conventional banking system. The response of the profitability toward the influence of the movement of macroeconomic variables can conclude that the Islamic banking can be stable more quickly in CURRENCY and INFLATION. The influence of the performance variable of the internal banking toward macroeconomic occurs more frequently in conventional banks. CAR internal performance variable is influential on BI Rate, and LDR is influential on currencies. Key words: profitability, Islamic banking, granger causality, VAR, VECM
