Abstract

The flow of large number of migrants into Province of East Kalimantan has created a region known broadly as the province established by newcomers. As a discourse of indigenous and native vis-a-vis outsiders comes forth, the local government has better autonomy and authority to deciding the fate of its own territory. hue to an enormous number of migrants who have long been settled down in the area, it is exceedingly hard to determine who are considered as natives of East Kalimantan and who are the indigenous real Kutai. The ethnic Banjar in East Kalimantan has no longer continued practicing its specific traditional culture life. This, is similarly eventuated with the ethnic Java which has been separated from its native land is supposedly considered as 'Javanese". Abstract

Indonesian adolescents are 37 per cent of the total of population of this country. The large quantity, however, is comparatively unequal to the right of reproduction health service they receive. They are often seen in the position as an "isolated tribe". Consequently, not only few adolescents, especially the female ones become victims of "Mimi Momo". This writing begins with a description of a case related to the reproduction health hitting an adolescent, then besides being related to the Cairo action program, it is also correlated with the recommendation on the policies of the reproduction service for adolescents.

Abstract

Abstract

Undoubtly, an accessible and adequate basic health service is priority for poverty reduction and more equitable development. Underutilization of health services is still a major concern for policy makers and constitutes the prime barrier to the large scale success of health programs. Information on the determinants and patterns of health care use can identify problems in organization and delivery that may result in underutilization. Based on the research findings in rural Purworejo, delivering services for the rural and poor people are in conflict with the objective to generate revenue. Many potential beneficiaries never get to adequate health services, because of the multiple non-financial constraints either from the demand side or the supply side. In order to enhance equitable utilization of public health services, strong commitment to apply investment in accessibility is certainly needed.

Abstract

The level of urbanization has increased from 17.2% to 49.7% in the last three decades. The urbanization process in Java is occurring more dramatically and rapidly compared to that in outer Java. There is a growing trend of urbanization in the Java Islands, where the level of urbanization has increased from 11.55% to 33.64% in 1971-2010. The ratio of urban population of all the provinces in Indonesia was greater than 20% in 2010 exclude East Nusa Tenggara. There is a strong positive relationship between the level of regional economic development and level of urbanization. Evaluation of urbanization can be improved from two aspects: first, the forward conditions of urbanization can be analyzed, such as the number of non-farm jobs, infrastructure level and the supply capacity of public services. Second, the forward effects of urbanization should be comprehensively evaluated, including economic, social, and environmental sustainability.

Abstract

Propinsi Lampung sampai pertengahan tahun 1970-an masih daerah penerima.

Abstract

Delivery mortality rate is still considered high. One of the mainreasons is the high rate of delivery assistance conducted by traditional midwives. To anticipate the problems and to obtain safe delivery, the government has decided to enact a program to appoint midwives to work in the villages A study was carried out on trained traditional midwiveswho play their role in the villages in the hope to study their role and development of these midwives in the future. The study was conducted in six villages of two subdistricts in Tulung Agung Regency. An interview and a survey were carried out to six traditional midwives and mothers-of-children-below-five years respectively in the study area. The study shows that 67.1 percent of delivery cases were assisted by traditional midwives. The role of traditional midwives during pregnancy care was considered low, yet was considered high during the delivery itself, the post-partum services, and the belief in relation to pregnancy and delivery. The fact shows there is a considerable healthy relation of social and delivery cooperation assistance between traditional midwives and trained midwives. It is suggested that improvement in knowledge and skills on delivery assistance be intensified. Besides, it is also suggested to improve the role of traditional village midwives to cooperate with trained midwives to guide the former in becoming the agents to convey the health program to its targets.

Abstract

Reproductive health covers a number of elements that relates to sexual activities and reproductive processes. The clinical aspects of the reproductive health are indeed important. Yet, its social aspects are not less significant due to its complexity and difficulty for making a solution. Many social problems associated with reproductive health, such as unwanted pregnancy, unsafe abortion, STD/AIDS, side-effects of contraceptive uses, etc., have grown to be more crucial and call for serious attention from social scientists as well as policy makers. This paper specifically addresses this issue by elaborating the scope and complexity of reproductive health matters in an Indonesian context.
