This paper is formulated to make a brief outlook on social violence in the perspective of Islamic education view, Indonesian culture, and al-Qur’an. Based on this perspective, this paper will discuss the root of violence behavior, whether in recent time or in the past time. This paper will also discuss pro-social behavior developed by individual as well as by society, as it becomes a counter values to violence behavior. The values found through discussion will be then introduced in an education framework as a pathway in reframing social behavior that potentially leads to violence. This action is taken due to re-comphrehend and reduce such potential ‘leads-to-violence’ behavior. The discussion presented in this paper is expected to have an inspiration for the next researches.

Although the educational programe had been on going process since56 years ago in Indonesia, but this state didn’t has provided qualifiedhuman resources. Since 32 years ago of The New Order Government,educational sector development has never been placed as a primepriority of development. Its effect is Indonesian educational quality beingworse than the other countries in southest Asia likes Malaysia, Pilipina,Singapura, and Thailand. Indonesia is being effected by dimentional multicrises since tvelve years ago and untill now, it is still degraded by itspast time which avoided educational development. Moreover, the aotherstates which effected by the same problem like Indonesia could reformby paying attention greater toward educational development sector. Theycould reform faster and being better states bacause they have humangood resource quality. By broad based education system and high basededucation system, we hope the quality of Indonesian human resources willbe more better in the next.

Pendidikan Islam di Indonesia memang begitu dilematis. Artinya di satu sisi, tuntutan untuk meningkatkan mutu dan kualitas agar dapat bersaing dengan lembaga pendidikan umum, di sisi lain perhatian dari pemerintah terhadap lembaga pendidikan Islam masih rendah bahkan masih ditempatkan bukan sebagai kelas kedua (the second class). Peningkatan kualitas lembaga pendidikan Islam merupakan keharusan yang perlu segera direalisasikan, mulai dari input, proses dan output atau lulusan dari lembaga pendidikan Islam, SDM pengelola dan para pendidik memiliki peran penting dalam peningkatan kualitas Lembaga Pendidikan Islam.Kata kunci: pendidikan, kualitas, Islam.

The critical points towards traditional Islamic education is its inability to solve contemporary problems in modern life. Therefore, to deal with these problems, Islamic education institutions should rethink and redesign Islamic education model which is not only focused on normative values (traditional religious teaching), but also focused on empirical issues. It is urgent to develop ideal model of Islamic education, since the challenges resulted from change in human life that strongly driven by economics, sophisticated technology and science development are growing rapidly. This paper proposes Islamic education model design, which is based on some thoughts of contemporary Muslim scholars. The model is expected to give alternative idea about how to design and develop a future Islamic education system.

Education is a medium to achieve values and meaning of life, rather than quantitative-artificial values. The true educatoin will help people to earn meaning for everything they learn all along education process. Meaning achievement is the main objective of learning process. There is no education when people do not achieve meaning through their education process. Many scholars found that, this circumstance may result from the lack of character building on education in the schools. However, character building education needs a good-spesific system that at least includes course details, tools teaching, methods, etc. Furthermore, this paper proposes learning methods that can be applied or further researched by teachers or scholars. Those methods are: 1) role model method; 2) habitual method; and 3) reward and punishment method.

Artikel ini membahas praktik pendekatan integrasi-interkoneksi dalam kajian manajemen dan kebijakan pendidikan Islam yang difokuskan pada praktik manajemen pembelajaran pada kebijakan kurikulum 2013. Diketahui bahwa kebijakan kurikulum 2013 mengembangkan tiga ranah secara terintegrasi-interkoneksi berupa sikap (attitude), pengetahuan (knowledge), dan keterampilan (skill). Ketiga ranah tersebut adalah satu kesatuan utuh dan menjadi tagihan dalam proses pembelajaran yang relevan dengan konsep integrasi-interkoneksi. Dalam Kurikulum 2013, implementasi pendekatan integrasi-interkoneksi dilakukan tidak hanya pada ranah pemikiran saja, akan tetapi pada praktik-aplikatifnya dalam proses pembelajaran. Manajemen pembelajaran dalam kebijakan kurikulum 2013 adalah contoh praktik integrasi-interkoneksi yang baik, dimana Kurikulum 2013 mengintegrasikan tiga ranah kompetensi yaitu sikap (attitude), pengetahuan (knowledge), dan ketrampilan (skill) yang diimplementasikan dalam KI-1 (sikap spiritual), KI-2 (sikap sosial), KI-3 (pengetahuan), dan KI-4 (keterampilan). Keempat aspek ini (kompetensi Inti) merupakan satu kesatuan (integrasi) tagihan yang harus terpenuhi, tercapai dan terimplementasikan dalam proses belajar mengajar.

This paper discusses the neglectedness of affective aspect on study evaluation of Islamic Religion Education course (Pendidikan Agama Islam) at higher education institution. It is found that the neglectedness of affective aspect is caused by some critical factors: 1) different perspective among scholars on what aspect of affection that cannot be measured, for example: faith; 2) the learning objective of Islamic Religion Education course is too ideal, that make it difficult to measure; 3) vast majority of Islamic Religion Education lecturer are unable to develop good teaching instruments which cover affective aspect; and 4) the students-lecturers ratio are too wide and far from ideal. To solve this problem, some suggestions are proposed; strengthening the good understanding of affective aspect on Islamic Religion Education among lecturers; and enriching evaluation design and model to reveal affective aspect of students.

The current paper critisizes government’s policy on Islamic religion education implementation, in term of the organizer/ administrator and subject matters. Government Regulation (Peraturan Pemerintah) No 55/2007 explicitly explained about how Islamic religion education and other religions education organized and administered. This paper found that the regulation has several critical points on its implementation, organization, and administration. Therefore, it is urgent for Ministry of Religious Affair and Ministry of Education to make synergic cooperation on implementing Islamic religion education development, whether on its education system, infrastructures, subject materials, and human resource development. If this cooperation appears to be hard to implement, Ministry of Religious Affair better to return its role in managing Islamic education to Ministry of Education. Means, this paper recommends the government to revise the regulation on religions education system.

This paper examines how Total Quality Management in Islamic School can fulfill market demands of quality graduates using Madrasah Aliyah (MA) Al-Hikmah Karangmojo Gunung Kidul Yogyakarta as a case study. Based on the research’s findings, it will show that: (1) in terms of service management, MA al-Hikmah provides service to the customers –the students- by not charging them any fees for educational operational costs, accommodation, health assurance, and educational facilities such as books and courses; (2) in terms of educational process management, MA Al-Hikmah’s teachers teach students using various teaching methods and strategies. Teaching processes are conducted both indoor and outdoor. MA Al-Hikmah also has a teaching team to handle the 12th graders in extra classes so that they can pass the national examination; (3) in terms of product management, MA Al-Hikmah continuously improves its educational quality through a variety of ways. MA Al-Hikmah also has a special team to maintain students’ achievements morally and academically. MA Al-Hikmah also makes some efforts to provide its graduates with opportunities to get scholarships in the higher education and job vacancies to meet the market needs of quality graduates.

The current paper aims at studying the implementation of quality assurance program at Madrasah Aliyah Sunan Pandanaran (MASPA) Sardonoharjo Ngaglik Sleman DIY. The quality assurance program run by MASPA is designed to give feedback to improve its academic quality. The subjects of the research are teachers and MASPA head of school. Using qualitative approach with observation and in-depth interview as data collection method, this study found that there is a moderate improvement on academic culture at MASPA, particularly on: 1) student presence level increases ?” 90%; 2) the increase of Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal (KKM) fulfillment; 3) teachers presence level increases e” 90%; and d) better percentage of study completion of student.
