Abstract

This study examines the effect of real earnings management on the readability of annual reports of infrastructure companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the 2021–2023 period, with institutional ownership as a moderating variable. Readability is measured using the Python-based Gunning Fog Index and analyzed with EViews. The results show that manipulation of operating cash flow (REM_CFO) and production (REM_PROD) has no significant effect on readability, while manipulation of discretionary expenses (REM_DIS) has a positive and significant effect. Institutional ownership is able to weaken the negative effect of REM_DIS on readability, demonstrating the effectiveness of institutional investor oversight in improving reporting transparency. These findings emphasize the importance of governance in maintaining the quality of corporate disclosure.

Abstract

Indonesia’s textile industry has experienced a significant decline, reflected in the rising number of bankrupt companies, large-scale layoffs, and reduced factory utilization rates. This contraction has sharply reduced the demand for textile machinery spare parts, which directly affects CV. Kharisma Satria Lestari (KSL), a supplier of spare parts for textile manufacturers. The company has faced a shrinking client base, a substantial drop in order volume, and revenue decline of 37.5 percent. This study aims to formulate an appropriate business development strategy to enhance CV.KSL’s profitability. This research adopts a qualitative approach through semi-structured interviews, participant observations, and literature review. The findings show that CV. KSL’s heavy dependence on a single customer segment, integrated production medium to large textile companies, has made the company highly vulnerable to downturns. The weak market condition also amplifies the bargaining power of buyers, posing a major challenge for CV. KSL. Competitive pressure from existing rivals and potential entrants further intensifies this situation. Internally, the company struggles with limited resources, outdated production machinery, and centralized decision-making processes that reduce agility and innovation. To address these challenges, a broader differentiation strategy is recommended. CV. KSL should expand its client acquisition efforts within its current target segment while also reaching new segments, particularly small-scale textile firms that demonstrate high demand for spare-part repair and replacement. Successful implementation requires strengthening digital marketing, networks, and R&D capabilities to support product enhancement, which creates added value that distinguishes KSL from competitors, ultimately improving its profitability.

Abstract

Human resources are critical for business success, making competition for top talent increasingly intense. This study examines the influence of employer branding and corporate reputation on job seekers’ intention to apply in the tobacco industry, using PT Hanjaya Mandala Sampoerna (HMSP) as the research context, and evaluates the moderating role of social media, specifically Instagram. A quantitative approach was used with purposive and snowball sampling, involving 160 job seekers aged 22–30 years in Jakarta and Surabaya. Data were collected through online questionnaires and analyzed using PLS-SEM. Results show that social media is the most influential factor in increasing intention to apply, followed by corporate reputation and employer branding. Active communication on social media strengthens corporate reputation, even in industries with negative stigma such as tobacco, while its interaction with employer branding is not significant. These findings highlight the strategic role of social media and reputation in attracting talent in challenging sectors. The study provides insights for companies to integrate authentic employer branding, reputation management, and digital engagement to optimize recruitment.

Abstract

Efficiency in pharmaceutical warehousing is critical because accuracy, speed, and regulatory compliance determine overall supply chain reliability. PT X has experienced declining warehouse performance marked by rising defects, long cycle times, and significant non-value-added activities. Purpose: This study aims to analyze the causes of operational inefficiency and formulate structured improvements. Approach: Using the Lean Six Sigma DMAIC framework, the research applies waste identification, Value Stream Mapping, Cost of Poor Quality, DPMO and sigma measurement, Process Activity Mapping, and Failure Mode and Effect Analysis. The Measure stage reveals a total lead time of 4,890 minutes with only 250 minutes of value-added work (Process Cycle Efficiency = 5.11%) and sigma levels between 3.2–3.6 across eight defect types. Analyze findings indicate that waiting, motion, inventory, and defect waste dominate, with the highest risk originating from recording errors, missing items, and FIFO violations. Improvement through WMS digitalization, layout restructuring, SOP standardization, and visual management produces a more efficient future-state VSM. Conclusion: Inefficiency in PT X warehouse is systemic, rooted in human factors, work methods, and information flow. Originality: This study presents an integrated model combining Lean waste analysis and Six Sigma defect reduction as a unified framework for optimizing pharmaceutical warehouse operations.

Abstract

The Indonesian digital financial system has been transformed through the Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS), which has resulted in a homogenized environment with low switching costs. This study examines the factors that evenly contribute to customer loyalty of bank-based and fintech-based QRIS service providers through the Stimulus–Organism–Response (S-O-R) model. A quantitative method has been used in this study whereby the data was collected from 501 active QRIS users (296 from banks and 205 from fintechs). The findings indicate that Perceived Value has the strongest relative impact contribution to both groups. Contrary to previous findings, the findings of this study indicate that Trust acted as a hygiene factor without direct significant influence in this homogenized market environment. This study refutes the dominance of trust in the direct determination of customer loyalty in homogenized digital markets and has a bifurcated strategic roadmap.

Abstract

This study analyzed the impact of the 2024–2029 inauguration of the President and Vice President on the abnormal returns and trading volume activity (TVA) of companies listed on the IDX that comprise the LQ-45 index. This study examines the 20-day interval preceding and succeeding the inauguration date of October 20, 2024, employing an event study methodology. Secondary data sources utilized include stock trading volumes, price summaries, and the Composite Stock Price Index (IHSG). A paired sample t-test is employed for analyzing returns that do not adhere to a normal distribution, while the Wilcoxon signed-rank test is utilized for TVA returns that also deviate from normality. The findings indicate that the incidence of anomalies does not differ considerably before and after the inaugurations of the president and vice president. The inauguration fails to furnish investors with much fresh information, as market expectations were presumably established in advance. Conversely, most LQ-45 companies experienced an increase in stock trading activity following the inauguration, signifying a notable disparity in TVA. The data indicates a substantial increase in trading activity, reflecting heightened investor interest and shifts in investment strategies, but stock prices remained relatively steady. This analysis indicates that the Indonesian capital market is more influenced by certain political events regarding trading volume than by abnormal returns.
