Abstract

This study examines key determinants influencing consumers' green purchase intention, focusing on the moderating effect of green brand knowledge; specifically examines the effects of green brand positioning, green brand attitude, and environmental concern in shaping environmentally friendly product purchasing decisions towards environmentally friendly skincare brand. The data were collected with an online questionnaire distributed through purposive sampling and received 213 completed valid responses. Data analysis adopted Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) using SmartPLS version 4.0. The findings reveal that neither attitudes towards green brands nor brand positioning have a statistically significant influence over green purchase intention. Conversely, environmental concern positively and significantly predicts consumers' green purchase intention. Green brand knowledge was tested as a moderator but did not exhibit a significant moderating effect on the intercorrelations between green brand positioning, attitude toward green brands, environmental concern, and green purchase intention. These results suggest that consumers' green awareness will have a greater impact on green purchase behaviors than either brand positioning beliefs or attitudes towards green brands. The study puts forward the imperative of creating green environmental concern to facilitate green purchasing behavior and the limitations of effective green brand strategies if consumer consciousness or brand knowledge of sustainable practices is low.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of seafood product quality and the role of Fish Auction Places (TPI) on improving the welfare of fishing communities in Lubuk Pakam. As a coastal area with abundant fishery potential, local fishermen still face constraints such as limited storage, processing, and distribution facilities, which impact the quality of their catch. Furthermore, the role of TPI as a means of marketing seafood is not yet optimal, thus reducing its effectiveness in creating fair and transparent prices. This study used a quantitative method with an associative approach, involving 98 respondents, and analyzed through multiple linear regression. The results show that seafood product quality has a positive and significant effect on improving fishermen's welfare. Similarly, the role of TPI has been shown to have a positive influence on fishermen's income and bargaining position. Simultaneously, these two independent variables contribute significantly to improving the welfare of fishing communities. These findings confirm that the synergy between improving product quality and optimizing the function of TPI is an important key in encouraging the creation of sustainable fishermen's welfare.

Abstract

The importance of digital technology for inclusive economic development is becoming increasingly evident. This paper examines the impact of digital access and productive internet use on the individual labor income of rural Indonesians across different income percentiles, taking into account the heterogeneity of rural digital infrastructure and the high level of informality in the rural sector. By utilizing the 2024 National Socioeconomic Survey and the National Labour Force Survey, this paper employs the quantile regression technique to examine the effects of digital access and internet engagement at the 25th, 50th, and 75th income percentiles. The results indicate that digital access has a significant benefit for lower-middle-income individuals, with decreasing returns at higher income levels. Conversely, productive internet usage is associated with increased income, particularly at the upper quantiles, suggesting that digital skills enable rural individuals to capitalize on economic opportunities. Additionally, the proxies for job-searching behaviors do not demonstrate a relationship with income in any quantile, which indicates structural issues with the rural labor market. Thus, policymakers need integrated digital inclusion strategies that focus both on capability and institutional constraints to ensure fair economic access for rural residents.
