Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the ability to think creatively in elementary grade students in open-ended mathematics problems. The approach used in this study is a qualitative approach that seeks to analyze creative thinking ability of students in open-ended mathematics problems. The subjects were students of class V SDN Kawedanan 2, Kawedanan, Magetan. The subjects were 6 students consisting of two students in high category, 2 students in medium category, and 2 students in low category. Data collection techniques were used are observation, tests and interviews. Data analysis was performed with data reduction, data presentation and verification or conclusion. Technique authenticity of data is done by triangulation of data sources. The results show the good ability of creative thinking of students in higher category and medium category in solving open-ended mathematics problems. Creative thinking ability of students in lower category is the lack of good criteria. Overall for low ability students still need guidance.Keywords: Creative Thinking Ability, Open-Ended, Mathematics Ability.

Abstract

Learning aims to achieve proficiency behasa properly. To achieve this goal of language learning can not be separated from the aspects of grammar. One way to achieve the grammar aspect is the test. Language tests can be called with the test language for principal goal is the ability to speak is not the knowledge of the language. Range measured aspects adhered to the types of tests used in the test item at the end of the lesson / test formatif.The reseach aims to determine aspects of language are tested at each end of the semester. This study used a qualitative approach to data sources such as the end of semester exam 1 and 2 grade 1 to grade 6. The reason for the selection of test questions daily as a subject of study as a matter of KKG was prepared by a team of Madiun Regency. techniques of data collection is done by collecting data sources in the field and read the data source. The data analysis phase consists of three steps: data reduction, classification, presentation of data and drawing conclusions. The results showed there were aspects of language such as phonology (Fon/f.1, Fon/a/1, Fon/a.i, Fon/a.I, Fon/a.e-E, Fon/a.o-O) the aspect morphology consisting of a free morpheme and bound, the process of reduplication or repetition, syntactic aspects that form phrases and sentences and semantic aspects in the form of meaning.Keywords: Final Exam, Linguistic aspects

Abstract

English in K13 insists on the teachers to be cerative. In fact. It indicates obstacles in the class due to the interpretation on its implementation. The research is a qualitative evaluative one that the researchers are the observers to two schools as the object. It is intended to see the comparison of English subject implementation on K13 focused on the integration within its practices. It also sees how and why they differ from one to another. The analyses show that (1) there are no integration done by teachers on the language skills at class in two schools. (2) The situation and condition of the school influences the practices of teaching English by integration; in one school, classes have good facilities, another school has no one. (3) English in K13 is fun for students because they use to for both schools. (4) Teachers find difficulties in two schools especially for the assessments, asking phase in scientific approach, and composing worksheets. (5) K13 basically changes from boring to enjoyment because it implies creativity and being active for both teachers and students.Key Terms: K13, comparison.

Abstract

Vector is an important subject in physics. Application of Newtons laws will be difficult, if not understand the basic concept of vectors. At the time of completing the equation of Newtons laws, students have difficulty in identifying problems, more specifically students can not understand the concept vectors correctly. Based on the results of the analysis of errors made, from six students, only one student who answered correctly. Student errors are caused by the use of language dominance intuition and do not understand the concept of a vector.Keywords: Vector Concept, Newtons laws

Abstract

Aspergillusniger is one type of mold that has a high ability to produce cellulases. Cellulases in the manufacturing process required the right conditions in order to obtain optimum quality and quantity. This study aims to determine the effect of different concentrations of inoculum and incubation time on cellulases activity of Aspergillusniger.The method used was a quantitative experiment with pattern completely randomized design(CRD) two factorial. Treatment research includes different of inoculum (K) which are 10%(K1), 15% (K2), 20% (K3) and incubation times (T) are 5 days (T1), 7 days (T2), 9days (T3). The datawere taken from the treatment is glucose levels of cellulases activity using theNelson Somogyi method. Analysis data using ANOVA two lanes with 5% of a significance level and continued to test Honestly Significant Difference (HSD). The results showed that: Fhit>Ftabso that there are significant differences in inoculum concentrations and incubation time of cellulolytic activity from Aspergillusniger.The highest glucose levels obtained in K3T1 treatment (20% of concentration and 5days of incubation time) with 0.072%.Keywords: Aspergillusniger, glucose, cellulases activity

The purpose of this researches to describe curriculum 2013 implementation of enforceability forfourth gradewholeMagetan. This research used aphenomenological approachtoqualitative research. theSubjects usedto teacher fourth gradeat theelementary school that used curriculum 2013. The object researchesthatexploredisthelearning, the learningprocess, andevaluationinstrumentsdeveloped bythe teacher. The collecting data techniqueincludesdocumentation, observationandinterviews. Researchersact asthe maininstrument in collecting data and add it i on al instrument form of field notes and checklist.The results showedthat: (1) theimplementation of thecurriculum 2013for fourth gradeinMagetannot fully yet implementedin terms oflearning plan development, learning implementation, andevaluation. Abstract

Orientation:Using media is used to improve students cerativity and ability in writing that help students in process of prewriting, especially outlining in brainstorming students idea. There are some steps that must students do in using sandwich graphic organizer: (1) reading article that related with topic, (2) listing and clustering based on data, (3) outlining by using sandwich graphic organizer map, (4) writing phase, (5) editing phase, (6) revising phase, (7) evaluating. Research purpose: This research is aimed at finding out whether: (1) using Sndwich Graphic Organizer improved students ability in writing essay, (2) The strengthen and weaknesses of using sandwich graphic organizer. Sandwich graphic organizer is a media to help students in writing essay. Research design: The research method was action research. Technique of collecting data was kuantitative data; writing test result and quessionaire, and documentation of the writing process and learning. Technique of analisys of data were: Comparative Method and statistic descriptive. Main Finding: The research findings show that: (1) the ability of students in writing argumentative essay improve. It can be seen by students result score in postest of cycle 2 from 75 in cycle 1 to 79 in cycle 2; (2) the strengthen of using sandwich graphic organizer were: (a) students were active in process of teaching and learning, (b)sandwich helped students in making outlining, (c) by using sandwich can support students to read many articles. In contrast, the weaknesses of using Sandwich Graphic Organizer were; (a) need much time , (b)some students difficult to fill sandwich pattern.Keywords: essay writing, sandwich graphic organizer, classroom action research

Abstract

The vocational school graduates are expected to be work-ready but roughly, only half of them have the competency. This may results from vocational teachers low pedagogical and professional competencies. This research aims at investigating the effects of computer simulation toward electrical engineering pre-service teachers activeness in learning process and their ability in designing electrical control system. Using quasi-experiment with non equivalent control group pre-test post-test design, the research was conducted in Department of Electrical Engineering Education in IKIP PGRI Madiun. Statistical analysis on pre-test and post-test mean scores of the group shows that there is a significant increase on students ability in designing electrical control system with sig 0.00. Observation on students activeness in learning process also indicates increased activeness compared to before the use of media. These findings indicate that computer simulation serves as an effective teaching media to improve students activeness and competencies and should be encouraged in vocational education.Keywords: Simulation, Activeness, Students Ability

Abstract

This study aims to explore in depth the social maturity of an early childhood with special need in Sidoharjo Village, District Jambon, Ponorogo. Early childhood development is a critical moment, because in that period laid the foundations of behavior and brain as the center of human activity has improved significantly. One aspect that is developing at an early age is a social maturity, which include independence, motor skills, communication and social skills. The focus of social maturity in this study is the independence or ability to self help. The approach used in this study is a qualitative case study method type single case. The data collected in the form of primary data that is the result of observation and interviews conducted by researchers and secondary data in the form of documentation. The data then analyzed using analysis techniques Miles and Hubberman models with the following process: data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion or verification. The results showed that social maturity subjects with initials (FS) which is more focused on the aspects of self help demonstrate the ability, self help tend to be lower when compared with children his age. Shown with almost all activities carried out with the help of the subject closest especially the mother, this is because the motor organs tend to be rigid so it can not be used.Keywords: social maturity, early child, special need

Abstract

The aims of this research are first, to know whether or not the use of pairing skype can increase the students speaking ability. Second, to know whether or not the use of Pairing Skype can increase students motivation. Third, to know the strenghts and weaknesses of pairing skype. The subject of the research was the students of 1A of English Department of IKIP PGRI Madiun consisting of 28 students. It was a classroom action research. The researcher did some steps for each cycle. They were planning, action, observation, and reflection. In collecting the data, the researcher applied several techniques including observation, interview, questionnaire, and test. The quantitative data were analyzed by using descriptive statistics. It compared between the scores of pre test (before implementing Pairing Skype) and post test (after implementing Pairing Skype), while the qualitative data were analyzed by using constant comparative method which consist of; comparing Incidents applicable to each category, integrating categories into their properties, delimiting theory, and writing theory. The results of this research are first, the use of pairing skype can improve students speaking skill. This is indicated by some factors as follows: (1) Students are able to express ideas and content. Students focused on the purpose and the main idea of the materials; (2) Students are able to make a good organization. Students could make effective organization of the materials; (3) Students are able to use the language. Students could use correct grammar and descriptive language to make strong impact; (4) Students are able to deliver the materials. Students can use eye contacts and gestures effectively. The improvement can also be seen from their results of the post-test. The means of the scores improve from cycle to cycle. The highest score of the post test 2 is 80 and the mean score is 75. Second, the use of pairing skype can improve students motivation. Students are active and always curious to know the next materials. Moreover, the students can work individually and also in group. The speaking ability of students improve from cycle to cycle eventhough some of students are still noisy.Keywords: Speaking Ability Pairing Skype, CCM
