Abstract

This research aims to improve the balancing movement of lower-grade students through the modification of traditional games called engklek in SDN Delingseng, Cilegon City, Banten Province. The object of the research was 32 students of grade 1 students at SDN Delingseng. This research is an action research consisting of two cycles. Modification of the engklek game is made by modifying the rules, the field, and the game that in accordance with the stages of children’s motion learning and used in accordance with existing communities in the Cilegon city itself. The instrument of this research is a test to measure static balancing namely standing stork test that is adjusted to the age criteria for grade 1 students (6-8 years). The results showed an improvement in the first and second cycles of both male and female students with the percentage of male students, 2 students in the poor category (11.11%), 5 students in the moderate category (27.78%) and 11 students in the good category (61.11 %). While the female students obtained the result of 2 students in the poor category (14.29%), 4 students in the moderate category (28.57%) and 8 students in the good category (57.14%). Based on the results of the research showed that the application of the engklek traditional game modifications can improve the balance movement in the low-grade students.   Keyword: Balance; Engklek Game; Traditional Games

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to understand the effect of Predict Observe and Explain (POE) strategy toward students’ conceptual change about density of water. This study was conducted because many students have a conception which is not in accordance with the scientific conception of the water. The subjects used in this study were 34 students on 5th grade students in one of primary schools in Bekasi. Research method was pre-experiment method and the design is One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The instrument used to view the level of student’s conceptual change was a pretest and posttest with four-tier diagnostic test. Test answers were then will be adjusted to conceptual change category consisting of five levels of conceptual change are construction, revision, complementation, static, and disorientation. The results showed that conceptual changes in students given treatment using POE strategy were at the construction level 2% (students were able to construct their understanding), revision 84% (students were able to make improvements (revisions) to their initial understanding), and static as much 14% (Students cannot change their understanding to a better understanding). These results show that the majority of students experience conceptual change after learning to use the POE strategy. Keywords: Strategy; POE; Conceptual Change

Abstract

This research is a classroom action research that aims to improve student learning outcomes in Social Sciences learning by using a jigsaw cooperative learning model with the help of audiovisual media. The study was conducted at the Al-Hamidiyah Integrated Islamic Elementary School Class III Khalid Bin Walid, amounting to 25 people consisting of 14 men and 11 women. The research was carried out starting from the lack of student learning outcomes in learning, from the results of the worksheets given to students there are about 56% of students who are still below the Maximum Mastery Criteria that is set that is 75. Together with colleagues to improve learning by two cycles. Each cycle consists of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data collected in this study are quantitative data in the form of learning outcomes. The results of this study's data analysis showed an increase in the percentage of student learning outcomes also increased, from 60% in cycle 1 to 80% in cycle 2. The results of this study can be concluded that the use of the Jigsaw Cooperative Learning Model assisted with audiovisual media can improve learning outcomes. Keywords: jigsaw; audiovisual; and learning outcomes

Abstract

This research was conducted to find out the increased in understanding  of elementary school students' teaching material through the use of kits for kids on discovery learning models. This research used quasi-experimental method using the matching only pretest and posttest control group design. The learning process in the experimental group applies the discovery learning model with kit for kids while the control group applies traditional learning. Learning take place during two meetings, both in the experimental group and control group. Each learning process is conducted the observation process of the implementation of learning activities. The subjects in the experimental group were 23 students and in the control group were 22 students. The research instrument uses multiple choice tests. Data analysis techniques used n-gain mean data and U Mann-Whitney SPSS Version 22 non-parametric test. The results showed that the increase in understanding of teaching materials on students who received discovery learning model assisted with a kit-for-kid was higher than students who received traditional learning. Keywords: Discovery Learning; Understanding Teaching Material

Abstract

The composition is interpreted simply, namely regulating traditional dances, especially on floor patterns, directions, and level settings in the form of group dances. This dance composition is applied to prospective dance teachers to enhance their understanding and skills in dance composition, applied in creating children's dance compositions. The purpose of this paper is to discuss the techniques of dance composition of children in prospective dance teachers to make children's dance works. This article is the result of research using an experimental method. The qualitative paradigm is a method of discourse analysis to synthesize theories and concepts of dance composition from seven figures, namely: Brenda McCutchen, Anne Gilbert, Alma Hawkins, Jacqueline Smith, Larry Lavender, and Eko Suprianto. The concept of creating traditional children's game-based compositions can be used as teaching material for creating children's dance for prospective dance teachers in elementary schools. Keywords: traditional game, children's dance, composition

Abstract

The background of this research is the students' difficulties in solving two-dimensional shapes, and the students' learning outcomes are still low. Then in the learning process, requires an approach that can improve students' activity and students learning outcomes, namely the RME approach. In this research, the subject of Mathematics learning activities with the RME approach were the 24 students of 6th-grade. In this study uses the model of Classroom Action Research (CAR). Based on research with a Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach on the material of two-dimensional shapes in 6th-grade has a great influence on improving student understanding. The results of the study showed that there were student activities scores using the RME approach starting from cycle I with the score of 1.9, in cycle II with a score of 2.9, and in cycle III with the score 3.9. On pre-cycle student learning scores got 4.2, cycle I 5.5, cycle II 6.8 and cycle III got a score of 8.2. So, it can be concluded that the use of the RME approach in mathematics learning about two-dimensional shapess can improve student activities and student learning outcomes with good improvement. Keywords: Realstic Mathematic Education (RME), Learning Outcomes

Abstract

Abstract. The low self-efficacy (SE) and student learning outcomes (LO) are the backgrounds of this study. This research is to see the relationship between SE and LO students through the Concrete-Pictorial-Abstract (CPA) approach. The research method used is quasi-experimental, with nonequivalent pretest-posttest control group design in mathematics learning of 119 elementary students in Purwakarta, Subang, Karawang, and Bekasi. The instrument uses a description test and attitude scale. The results of the analysis show that there is no relationship between the achievement and increase of students' SE and LO with the value of R on the achievement and increase of SE and LO respectively 0.044 and 0.053 and significance> 0.05.Keywords: Concrete-Pictorial-Abstract (CPA) approach, Self-Efficacy (SE), Learning Outcomes (LO)
