Abstract

Active transport is any form of human powered transportation such as walking and cycling. Active transport can reduce the risk of obesity estimated through body mass index. This study aims to determine the tendency of active transportation of the Bandar Lampung resident and its correlation to body mass reaction rate. Data were collected on 400 respondents as sample who height and weight was measured and given questionnaire. The results showed that the highest active transportation choice of respondents was walking to the workplace (22.0%) and activity at leisure time (30.3%). That value was lower than respondents who chose motorcycles (61.1% for work, 37.7% for dropping children to school, 70.4% while shopping and 50.0% for leisure activities). The was no significant correlation between the duration of walking and cycling in the last seven days to the level of the respondent's body mass index.

Abstract

The potential of West Sumbawa Regency in rural gold mining area is very abundant, but has a high level of poverty. The existence of BUMDes as an alternative in developing the potential that has in increasing the income of village and society. This study aims to examine the advantages and disadvantages of the management of BUMDes in improving the welfare of society in rural gold mining area in West Sumbawa regency. This research uses descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection is done in rural gold mining area of West Sumbawa Regency. The location of this research represent 3 (three) sub districts included in gold mining area consist of: District of Jereweh, Maluk and Sekongkang. Data collection techniques used interviews, documentation, and observation with research subjects ie Village Party, BUMDES Management, beneficiary community and related institutions. Data validity using source triangulation techniques.Data analysis using interactive analysis model that is analysis by using data reduction, data display, and verification and conclusion. The results of this study indicate that BUMDES in rural gold mining areas has not been successful in total in improving the village economy and public welfare of the existing units of BUMDES. BUMDES Gold mining areas still have advantages that are: a) easy access to finance and b) improvement of household economy. Weaknesses: a) Human resources managers and b) business plans are low. There needs to be active participation from the community in running the BUMDes program to the economic progress.

Abstract

This article trying to identify the Bajo people’s adaptation capacity regarding environmental change through vulnerable capacity index calculation and comparative analyze as well. Using indepth interview and fish bone diagram approaching, this research trying to find out the connectivity between new spreading industry activities, environmental change, and how the people can adapt.  We choosing of three Bajo people settlements, located around Balikpapan Bay as the cases study, and also using nine variables of vulnerable society. As the results, we can find if there were some significant physical-environment changes both  on quality and quantity aspects. After calculating vulnerability index, it shows that level of adaptation capacity at Penajam village better than its on Jenebora and Pantai Lango village as well.

Abstract

Forest and land fires (karhutla) in Indonesia cause environmental degradation, economic losses and health problems. The phenomenon of Strong El Nino becomes a natural factor that exacerbates the condition of karhutla, efforts to reduce the risk of karhutla by preventing, reducing and tackling the karhutla continue to be pursued by the government. The haze of karhutla becomes a problem in itself, the extent of exposed areas and dangerous particles disrupt the activities of the community, especially health problems. Disaster risk reduction efforts can be done by increasing capacity, while one type of capacity in the community is household capacity. The purpose of this study is to review the capacity of households in the face of smoke haze karhutla, the location chosen to conduct the study is Kelurahan Bansir Darat, Pontianak City-West Kalimantan. The discussion begins with determining the criteria of household capacity, the data sampling technique is non probability sampling in the form of systematic sampling through questionnaire amounting to 110 and the method of data analysis is done quantitatively descriptive and quantitative associations. Identified household characteristics were age group, occupation group and settlement type, household capacity calculation showed that 21.82% were ready, 28.18% were not ready and 50.00% were adequately prepared for the disaster, found significant relationship between work groups with household capacity and type of settlement with household capacity.

Abstract

ABSTRACTBogor District as one of large region and large number of population has any problems related to accesibility and equity welfare.  Regional proliferation considered as a way to overcome that problems.  The study used scoring method based on PP no. 78 2007 with descriptive analysis, location quotient analysis, and Klassen Tiphology. This study was aimed to analyzed feasibility of regional proliferation and to formulate regional development strategy based on economic potentials in eastern Bogor District region. In general the result showed that eastern Bogor District region appropriate to organize as an autonomous region.  High economic potential and fiscal cappacity of eastern Bogor region can be made as main factor to recommended eastern Bogor District region as an autonomous region.  Thus, the selected strategies are how to develop backward regions base on leading sector, support primary sector development such as agricultural. Goverment policy is important to optimize natural resources management, spread out infrastructure development mainly to support rural area development. The implication of policy directed base on each region characters such as social, culture, spatial, basic sector.   Furthermore regional development analysis can be set base on sub-district region.

Abstract

The measurement of happiness index in Indonesia was conducted by Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS) was first released in 2013 based on the result of study and representation of national level estimation. The approach taken is a life satisfaction, in which life satisfaction is believed to reflect the level of happiness. The city of Bandung is one of the cities that initiated the measurement of happiness index in Indonesia. Kampung Braga is one of Kampung Kota that still maintain its existence in the middle of the urban development. The neighborhood of Kampung Braga is considered as slum area and the buildings within break the river border line. According to  than phenomena, the research question comes up, "How big is the level of happiness Kampung Braga neighborhood?". Variables used ini this research consist of happiness and spatial variables. The analysis used is descriptive quantitative by weighting and scoring on each variable. Based on the results, the happiness index of Kampung Braga neighborhood is 0.978 which belongs to the category of very happy. In forming proccess of happiness, the affective component contribution is relatively balanced with the cognitive. Spatially, people in RW 04 and RW 08 tend to be happier. This study proves that the people of Kampung Braga have the ability to adapt to the urban environment.

Abstract

Pemalang Regency had low economic rate, based on agriculture sector especially food crop sub-sector with Paddy and Maize as main contributor, had a high paddy fields conversion wich decreased the economic rate through Paddy production decreasement. The main objective of this research were to compose the Maize cultivation area development planning for Pemalang Regency economy improvement. The method used in this research were: mapping the Maize cultivation existing area, land suitability and availability evaluation, analysis of economic, marketing and correlation between Maize production with GDP growth and employment absorption. The results showed that there were about 1,804 ha of exsisting Maize cultivation area and 4,276 ha marginally suitable (S3) potential land. The Maize development were be feasible to be continued. Best benifit obtained from the channel that composed by Farmer-Depot-Industry, it gave lowest margin and highest farmer's share. The Maize market in integrated condition. Allocation potential land and 285.66 ha of Perhutani’s area predicted gave 5.94% of agriculture sector increasement and absorb all unemployment in Pemalang Regency.

Abstract

The traditional citi center in Java has a composition of the square. The philosophy of the city is as the center of the country which is lead by the king. The regency cities in Java adopt this concept with the similar composition. In the Dutch colonial era of the 18-19th century, the postweg line is connected the regency cities in Java, with the post office located near the city center. Medan in Sumatra becomes the case to eximen how the architectural concept of the post office and Merdeka field (resembling the square in Java) as the work of the Dutch government at that time. The purpose of this study is to uncover the concept of the post office located at the zero point of the city and Merdeka Field as the square in the city center. By using the historical and grounded research, it is found that Medan is a unique city. The hybrid architectural design of the post office classifies the shape of the old city center in Medan, which has the hybrid concept which has the philosophy  of meeting various cultures. The Java and Dutch concept for urban design is affected by Java, Malay, and Chinese for building design.

Abstract

Various studies have been conducted to conceive the factors of regional economic growth and its nature in order to obtain the right formulation of regional development policy. The main aim of this research is exploring the spatial influence of economic growth in East Java Province. The result of Lagrange Multiplier test shows that the regencies/cities economic growth affects each other in the long term. Parameters estimation on spatial lag model shows that the spatial influence of economic growth inter regencies/cities is negative. These indicate that development activities in East Java Province have not been get synergistic yet.

Abstract

Housing development has to be directed to establish a spatial community characterized by the bond among members and place attachment to their living space. The moving outside of inhabitants can be caused by low social harmony or low functional conditions of their housing. It can be happened in flats as well as in landed housing. Social harmony is the condition of the bond among inhabitants including a bond of value, a bond of feeling, and a common action. It is an important element to establish a community. This research aims are identifying the difference of social harmony between the inhabitants of flats and landed houses, as well as identifying the elements of functional conditions of housing that affect social harmony. The research design used questionnaire survey using Likert’s scale. Tebet area was chosen as the study area because there are landed houses and flats inside. The results showed that there was the difference of social harmony between the two types of housing. Social harmony in flats was lower. There are two kinds of housing functions affecting social harmony in both types of housing were economic function and service function. Hence, in housing planning besides the availability of social-economic facilities and utilities, also important to be considered about how these function running well in order to keep the social harmony among its inhabitants next come into being as a community.
