Abstract

The development of information technology has provided many changes in all aspects of online and offline life. This development requires the readiness of all lines to adjust to the needs of the changes, which are to support the realization of good government administration and the improvement of the quality of public services. This study aimed to determine the perceived usefulness of digital archive management using Dinamic Filing Information Systems (SIKD). The study used a descriptive quantitative approach. Data collection technique used questionnaires and was measured using the Likert scale. The instrument validity test used logical validity with expert judgment; reliability was measured using the Alpha Cronbach formula with coefficient value 0.796. Subjects of the study were a total of 19 educational staff of the Faculty of Education Yogyakarta State University. The result revealed that 78.9% of respondents claimed that Dinamic Filing Information Systems (SIKD) improved their performance. 94.8% of respondents stated that SIKD improved user productivity, and all respondents acknowledged that their perfomance increased due to the use of SIKD. Thus, SIKD provides the performance of an archive information system which is useful for archive management in Faculty of Education Yogyakarta State University and users are satisfied with this SIKD.

Abstract

The purpose of the research is to discover the promotion strategy carried out by the library of the Regional Representative Council of the Republic of Indonesia (DPD RI). To obtain that purpose, the method used is qualitative research with descriptive approach and the informant used is the librarian in the Regional Representative Council of the Republic of Indonesia. The data were acquired through interviews, observations, library research and documentation. The result of this research re- presents that in running promotional strategy for their library, the Regional Representative Council of the Republic of Indonesia pass through several stages of environmental analysis, formulation, imple- mentation and the evaluation. According to this whole series of analysis, we are able to see the implementation of the promotion for the Regional Representative Council of the Republic of Indo- nesia’s library. And there are various media to promote the library, such as brochures, personal selling (door to door and direct presentation), direct marketing (Delivery Order, DPD RI’s library website, and Facebook account creation). Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menemukan strategi promosi yang dilakukan oleh perpustakaan dari Dewan Per- wakilan Daerah Republik Indonesia (DPD RI). Untuk mendapatkan tujuan tersebut, metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif dan informan yang digu- nakan adalah pustakawan di Dewan Perwakilan Daerah Republik Indonesia. Data diperoleh me- lalui wawancara, observasi, studi pustaka dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian ini menyatakan bahwa dalam menjalankan strategi promosi untuk perpustakaan mereka, Dewan Perwakilan Daerah Republik Indonesia melewati beberapa tahap analisis lingkungan, formulasi, implementasi dan evaluasi. Menurut seluruh rangkaian analisis, kita dapat melihat pelaksanaan promosi untuk Dewan Perwakilan Daerah Republik perpustakaan di Indonesia. Dan ada berbagai media untuk mem- promosikan perpustakaan, seperti brosur, personal selling (door to door dan presentasinya langsung), pemasaran langsung (Delivery Order, website perpustakaan DPD RI, dan pembuatan akun Face- book).

Abstract

Research objectives: to determine the activities of the students read the textbook. Research methods: a survey. Sampling methods: quota sampling (n=74). Methods of analysis: statistics. Research: majority factor have a close relationship with the encouragement of students read textbooks: instruction lecturer has a correlation with the reading textbook (62%); friend persuasion has a correlation with activity the reading textbook (48%); student residence has a correlation with the activity of reading textbook (80%). Ethnic origin java has the potential to read textbook (82%). Malay minang ethnic origin have the potential to read textbook (50%); students still seem to have a dependency on libraries to meet the textbook reading material (64%).Tujuan penelitian: untuk mengetahui aktivitas baca mahasiswa pada buku teks. Metode  penelitian: survei. Metode sampling: quota sampling (n=74). Metode analisis: statistika. Hasil penelitian: Faktor kedewasaan (majority) memiliki hubungan erat dengan dorongan mahasiswa membaca buku teks; Intruksi dosen memiliki korelasi dengan aktivitas membaca  buku teks (62%); Persuasi teman memiliki korelasi dengan aktivitas membaca buku teks (48%); Tempat tinggal  mahasiswa memiliki korelasi dengan aktivitas membaca buku teks (79%); Asal Etnik Sunda memiliki potensi membaca buku teks (80%). Asal Etnik Jawa memiliki potensi membaca buku teks (82%). Asal Etnik Melayu Minang memiliki potensi membaca buku teks (50%); Mahasiswa masih tampak memiliki ketergantungan pada Perpustakaan untuk memenuhi bahan bacaan buku teks (64%).

Abstract

This  study  aims  to  determine  the processing operations of library materials in the Regional Office of Archives and Library (KAPD) Bogor in detail, which is based on four main points, namely inventory, classification, cataloging, and shelving.   This   research   was   conducted from   February   until   April   2015.   The method used is qualitative method with descriptive case study approach to give a deep  and  detailed  overview. The techniques of data collection used are observation, interviews, library and documents research. The results of the survey shows that the inventory is mplemented under the written policy according to the Law of library including assigning and recording the identification numbers, stamping the identity of a library on the book, etc. The books come from APBD, BAPUSIPDA, and PERPUSNAS. The classification mostly done manually by using the DDC book, while the process of entry is done by using the SLIMs program. The making of card catalog has been discontinued since 2010 and OPAC is currently used in exchange. The shelving is conducted based on classification number, notation number,  and the code number. The public books are adjusted by the classification numbers and the reference books are adjusted by the code number. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan proses pengolahan bahan pustaka karya cetak di Kantor Arsip dan Perpustakaan Daerah (KAPD) Kota Bogor, didasarkan pada 4 poin, inventarisasi, klasifikasi, cataloging dan shelving. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada Februari hingga April 2015. Metode yang digunakan ialah metode kualitatif melalui deskriptif, pendekatan studi kasusu untuk memberikan pendalaman dan rinci. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi, wawancara, studi literatur dan dokumen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa implementasi kebijakan perundang-undangan tertulis termasuk menugaskan dan merekam nomor dan pelabelan identitas buku perpustakaan. Buku-buku tersebut berasal dari APBD, BAPUSIPDA, dan PERPUSNAS. Klasifikasi sebagian besar digunakan secara manual melalui buku DDC, lalu menggunakan program SLIM setelah kegiatan entri selesai. Pembuatan kartu katalog telah dihentikan sejak 2010 dan saat ini menggunakan OPAC dalam pertukaran rak yang dilakukan berdasarkan nomor klasifikasi, jumlah notasi dan nomor kode. Buku-buku umum disesuaikan dengan nomor klasifikasi dan buku referensi disesuaikan dengan jumlah kode.

Abstract

This paper examines the how the opportunities and challenges in implementing technology and information in the Library. Because the library inevitably have to address the progress of time like the present. Therefore, libraries must be able to perform the duties and functions very well. To that should be supported by the use of the latest information technology applications. It is necessary to remember the times and needs of the community. In the application of automation systems is indeed a lot of them run the risk of shortage of skilled human resources in the field of information technology, changing patterns of organization, and the impact on staff and ultimately less accept a new system that will be / have been applied. Tulisan ini mengkaji mengenai bagaimana peluang dan dan tantangan dalam menerapkan teknologi dan informasi di Perpustakaan. Sebab mau tak mau perpustakaan harus menyikapi kemajuan zaman seperti sekarang ini. Oleh karena itu, perpustakaan haruslah mampu menjalankan tugas dan fungsinya dengan baik. Untuk itu perlu didukung dengan pemanfaatan aplikasi teknologi informasi terkini. Hal ini perlu mengingat perkembangan zaman dan tingkat kebutuhan masyarakat. Dalam penerapan sistem otomasi ini memang banyak mengalami resiko diantaranya kekurangan sumber daya manusia yang handal di bidang teknologi informasi, perubahan pola organisasi, dan dampak pada staf yang pada akhirnya kurang menerima sistem baru yang akan/telah diterapkan.

Abstract

Information literacy is a social capital for today's millennials as information literacy can make a difference for a better life. Every individual has the right to obtain and use information, including inmates. However, inmates have limited access to information while in prison; not all useful information can be obtained easily. Based on this fact, research on the role of libraries in improving prisoners' information literacy at the Correctional Institution Class I in Malang is essential to determine the library’s influence on prisoners' information literacy. The purpose of this study was to find out about the role of the library in improving prisoner’s information literacy. This study used the descriptive qualitative method with a qualitative approach. The data collection techniques through interviews, observation, and study literature. Study results indicated that the Library of the Correctional Institution Class I in Malang had a role as the primary source of information, a place for creating, and a place that provides learning activities for inmates. Information literacy at the Correctional Institution Class I in Malang applies local wisdom which is not carried out by other specialized libraries, such as library staff that does not have library science education backgrounds, the library collection contains religious, folklore, general knowledge, and skill books. Abstract

The existing knowledge in society has not been spread explicitly. Thus local knowledge is still unknown to the people in the region itself. This study aimed to provide information related to the dissemination of local knowledge applied to cultural literacy programs form: ideas, behavior, and artifacts or works. The kind of the idea is stated in a paper, the behavior is shown in community activities, and artifacts are contained in works in the form of objects as results of activities and actions. The main focus is on basic human needs: clothing and food applied through Griya Boedaya tour. Clothing consists of typical East Javanese fabrics, while food consists of East Javanese specialties. The culture produced reflects the characteristics of the environment. Thus it has features standing out that becomes the identity of the local community’s culture. In the East Java region, knowledge is an invisible or intangible local asset owned by people in the area. This study used the literature method with qualitative approach by searching for books, e-journals, proceedings, thesis and articles. Results of the people’s knowledge in the form of typical food and unique clothing were a manifestation of people's expression of their environment. Griya Boedaya introduces local cultures such as regional cloth and cuisine and is a tourist means which introduces history, creation process, work systems, tools used, and the use and philosophy of local cultural products. Hopefully, the cultural literacy tour will enable people to recognize, know, and understand their culture with easy-to-understand and fun methods.

Abstract

This paper aims to identify the elements in the oral art tradition of Minangkabau randai art, the preservation activities of knowledge that have been done, the constraints in the process of preservation of knowledge, as well as the steps that can be done in order to preserve the knowledge contained in the oral tradition of Minangkabau randai art performance. The method used is research method with qualitative approach and data collection through interview and document analysis method. The result of this research concludes that randai is an artistic tradition of society that is built from three important components, namely silek, kaba, and dendang or gurindam. Each element supports each other to build the main function of randai as representation and communication media of adat as well as cultural identity of Minangkabau society. The development, bakaba tradition of babangkito Minangkabau society accelerate the process of socialization and transfer of randai along with knowledge in it. But it also becomes an obstacle and hamper the preservation of originality of randai art itself. Preservation activities that have been done in general in the form of socialization activities in the form of direct face-to-face interaction and imitation process. Externalization in the form of documenting the tradition has begun, but not yet on the level of analysis, repackaging, and transfer of knowledge so that most of the knowledge is only stored in government agencies such as the Department of Tourism.

Abstract

This study discusses whether the reference service owned by the Universitas Indonesia (UI) Library can be used as a representation of other college libraries. This representation can be seen based on user perception in the University of Indonesia Library of the reference service and also seen from the strategy undertaken by the University of Indonesia Library in improving the quality of their reference service. This research is a qualitative research using case study method. The results of this study indicate that the reference service Library University of Indonesia can be used as a representation of the library of universities, because the University of Indonesia Library managed to make their reference services become more active and more innovative by bringing various innovations in it to get closer to the user. In addition, users also express their opinions regarding reference services in the University of Indonesia Library, this will further strengthen the purpose of this research is a reference service as a representation of the University of Indonesia Library. It is expected that with the innovation made by UI Library to its reference service will make the reference service become the representation of the library itself especially from the user side, because the representation of the reference service is very important to realize the main purpose of university in Indonesia known as Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi is education, research and community service.

Abstract

The dynamic records management of goods import notification documents is an essential activity in storing data on goods entering Indonesia. The Main Service Office for Customs and Excise Type A Tanjung Priok as a government agency is obliged to record incoming goods as trade data. This study aimed to determine the dynamic records management of imported goods notification (PIB) documents on customs activities for the success of dwelling time at the Main Service Office for Customs and Excise Type A Tanjung Priok. The research method used a case study through a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques used were observation, interviews, and document study. The results showed the process of recording imported goods document notifications through the process of creating and receiving import documents began from the delivery of imported goods document notification (PIB) to the Customs Office. Submitting of the notifications was through the Electronic Data Exchange (PDE) system to the determination of the document path for 4 minutes. The organization process of notification documents for imported goods goes through 5 stages, namely, distribution of documents, the process of completing customs administration of imported goods documents, storing the processed documents, rediscovering documents, and maintaining imported goods documents. The process of dissemination at the Customs and Excise agency itself is inseparable from a system called Customs-Excise Integrated System and Automation (CEISA). The system is an integrated system of all Directorate General Customs and Excise services to all public service users. Their can access this system without limited space and place.
