Abstract

Series of ads that appear in printed media, electronic, and internet diverse increasingly  and  of  course  we  can  not  deny  its  existence.  Most  of  the advertising icon is  using the  profile of women as  an object.  Even  women icon  sometimes  is  displayed  only  and  no  links/  anything  to  do  with  the product  being  advertised.  Overall  the  product  ads  directly  related  to women  are  aimed  to  attract  attention,  exploit  the  female  body,  degrade women,  and  even  provide  examples  of  sexual  harassment.  Besides  those cases,  women  also  made  the  largest  consumer  advertising  products.  And the  most  pitiful  representation  of  women  in  the  ads,  which  portrayals  of women in  the  ads are  always,  sought perfection and  automatically it  will present  camouflage  to  the  real  world  of  women.  The  fact  that  popular culture  products  capable  of  twisted  woman  was  already  familiar  to  the public. Therefore, we require a study that could uphold women. There was a  study  which  until  now  has  not  been  reviewed  by  a  group  of  feminism, which is about the strength of women. This study said that woman must be held to prove that she was able to exist in the lives of men and the growing popular culture products.

Abstract

Penggunaan frekuensi gelombang radio ini memiliki konsekuensi yang luas dalam hukum media massa salah satu asas dalam hukum media yaituasas pertanggungjawaban sosial. lembaga penyiaran dalam pilkada adalah salah satu bentuk pertanggungjawaban sosial, karena lembaga penyiaran menggunakan rana publik berupa gelombang frekuensi radio. Abstract

Nowdays, one of  the well-known  means of communication is internet or also known as the new media. The internets is used as a main source for communicating and searching for information. This very media is what no longer makes distance and time a problem. The internet has developed and become an efficient  and  effective  way  of  communication.  The  internet  has  grown  into  a  communicative  mean  and cannot  be  disregarded.  Internet  users  are  mostly  students,  due  to  the  facilities  being  easy  to  use  and accessed. Most people use internet connection to receive information and entertainment. Accordingly to the Mcquail application which states that there are four  motives on the usage of media,  1.  Information  (surveillance)  with  four  subs:  a.  seeking  news  regarding  events  and  conditions relevant  with  the  closest  environment,  society,  and the  world.b.Seeking  for  guidance  on  practical issues,  opinions  and  such  which  are  related with  choosing  an  option,  c.To  fulfill  curiosity  and public interest,  d.  To learn, self- education,  2. Personal identit motives consists of four subs:  a.  To find support on personal  values,b.To  find  a behavior  model,  c.To  identify  oneself  with  other  values  found within  the media,  d.To  gain  an  understanding  of  oneself.  3.  Integration  and  social  interaction  motives  (Personal Relationship) consists of six sub chapters:  a.  To obtain knowledge regarding the circumstances of  others, b.  To identify oneself with  others  and gain  a  sense  of belonging,  c.To  find  conversation  material  and social  interaction,  d.  To gain friends  beside  humans,  e.  To  assist social  role,  f.  Makes connecting with family, friends and society possible.  4. For entertainment motives (Diversion) there are five sub chapters: a.  To  release  oneself  from  problems,  b.To  relax,  c.To  achieve  spiritual joy  and esthetical joy,  d.  To fill time, e.To channel emotions, f. To stimulate sexual desires. It  may be  concluded that the  aforementioned  theories  stated by McQuail  are proven  by twitter accounts of class XI class of 2013 students of SMA  Negeri Surakarta within the period of November until December, aside from that the writer has also foundchanging motives which happens within information motives and entertainment motives.

Abstract

The phenomenon of children on the street is increasingly widespread. This due to the fact that existence is very easy to find particulary in the city center or street even almost all them are disturbing the society, the naughty child and the children on the street tend to live freely with singing on the street and so on. Therefore it needs to establish a  positive  self concept  for naughty child and children  on  the street. The objective of the research is to determine the comunication model and to classify effective communication model used by conselors in the process of self concept establishment in the client. This research belongs to qualitative descriptive study, data collection techniques used  observation  and  interview.  The  results  of  this research  is  the  process  of establishing a  positive self-concept  on  the  client  in  social  rehabilitation centers “KARTINI” Tawangmangu through three stages of social rehabilitation services consists of some guidance such as the guidance of physical, mental, social skill and  character.  The  guidance  uses  two  communication  models.  The  first communication model effective to estabilish a positive self concept in client with the problems such as ropping out of school, hanging out and so on. Mean while the second communication model effective to clientwhich specific problems such as broken home, drunk, sing on the street and so on.

Abstract

In the distribution of food to the customers in need of packaging that serves as s wrapper, tool safety of food in itand also serves as a  messenger  media  products  to  consumers  as  well  as  a  media campaign.  Packaging  as  a  medium  of  communication  through visual language. A visual communication in conveying the message of  a  product  it  contains the  signs  that  have  meaning  that can be understood by consumers. His article tries to explain and describe the  meaning  and  significance  of  the  visual  is  displayed  on  the packaging Chitato Potato Chips using semiotic analysis in oreder to understand the intent of the message to be delivered by Chitato Potato products to consumers.

Abstract

By  nature,  every  human  being  endowed  the  feelings  of  love  in  different  levels,  that  affects behavior  and  view  of  love  values  differences.  The  fading  of  love  in  human  beings  today encourages various efforts to place love compassions in human life. Through a film titled ‘Rindu Kami PadaMu’, longing of love shown by using certain symbols which is not easily understood by  the  audience  at  a  glance  as  efforts  to  place  love  compassions.  This  study  is  result  of  a qualitative  research  using  Roland  Barthes  semiotic  analysis  approach  and  Robert  Sternberg’s typology of love theory. The result showed that ‘Rindu Kami PadaMu’ is a film that reflects the longing of love, including love for family, spouse,human beings, God and the environment. This film  teaches  the  importance  of  love  values  placement  in  universal  life.  Based  on  Robert Sternberg’s typology of love theory, it can be seenthat the types of love in this film consist of nonlove,  liking,  romantic  love,  fatuous  love,  and  consummate  love  which  are  variously experienced by all characters.

Abstract

Seni tari adalah satu dari beberapa kesenian yang dikembangkan di Indonesia. Seni tari Jawa, diekspresikan melalui gerak tubuh para penari yang di dalamnya menggambarkan bentuk ekspresi atau  pengungkapan  yang  disertai  kandungan  maksud-maksud  dan  tujuan  tertentu.  Salah  satu tarian yang cukup populer adalah Tari Gambyong , eksotisme gerak, keindahan busana dan sering ditampilkan pada saat penyambutan tamu adalah beberapa hal yang identik dengan tarian ini. Penelitian ini termasuk penelitian kualitatif dengan menerapkan metode analisis semiologi komunikasi  Andrik  Purwasito  yang  meliputi  komponen, siapa  komunikator,  motivasi komunikator,  konteks  fisik  dan  sosial,  struktur  tanda  dan  tanda  lain,  fungsi  tanda,  sejarah  dan mitologi,  intertekstualitas,  intersubyektivitas,  common  sense,  penjelajahan ilmiah  peneliti  dan kategorisasi  Etika  Jawa  oleh  Nurhidayati  yang  meliputi,  hubungan  manusia  dengan  Tuhan, hubungan  manusia  dengan  alam,  hubungan  manusia  dengan  manusia,  dan  hubungan  manusia dengan diri sendiri. Adapun  hasil  dari  penelitian  ini  adalah  dari  ketiga kategorisasi  yang  diajukan,  yaitu keselarasan,  kebersamaan,  dan  kekeluargaan,  ternyata  tari  Gambyong  Pareanom  mempunyai makna  yang  sangat  luas.  Dalam  tarian  ini  menggambarkan  tentang  hubungan  antara  manusia dengan  Tuhan,  dan  hubungan  antara  manusia  dengan  alam.  Hal  ini  ditunjukkan  dalam  korpus syair, gendhing, asesoris, dan beberapa gerakan yang ada dalam tarian tersebut. Hubungan antara manusia  dengan  manusia  ini  diperoleh  dari  pemahaman awal  bahwa  fungsi  dari  tari  Gambyong Pareanom  adalah  tari  hiburan,  tarian  selamat  datang,  dan  tarian  yang  biasa  dipentaskan  dalam rangka penyambutan tamu. Dalam hubungan manusia dengan manusia ditunjukkan dalam korpus gerak.

Abstract

Background of the research is author’s interest with issue of increased price of fuel oil in which it became a popular discussion among people when the issue was starting to develop. The issue of fuel oil price upsurge running about March2012. The research uses framing analysis method by using Zhongdan Pan and Gerald M. Kosicki  instruments. The headlines of Kompas and Solopos newspapers are then analyzed by using framing tool from Pan Konsicki consisting of four big structures, namely, syntax, script, thematic, and rhetoric.  Findings of the research indicated that Kompas and Solopos newspaper have different frames about phenomenon of fuel oil  price  upsurge.  The  different  frames  used  by  Kompas  and  Solopos newspapers  in  framing news  of  the  phenomenon  discourse  were  in  syntax  aspect;  especially  those  were  related  with headline and informant.

Abstract

This research was conducted because of the many problems of political advertising in  the  form  of  billboards  that  use  pictures  legislator  candidates  supported  by  the visualization  of  images  the  artist  as  an  endorser  of  political  advertising.  The phenomenon of the use of photographs and photo artists candidate in political ads we encounter in the aftermath of reform. Before thereform era, we see only the logo image and the image of political parties only in billboard advertisements of political parties. The  study,  observed  four billboard  ads  that  use prospective legislators  as endorsernya artist. Roland Barthess semiotic theory is used to analyze political ads is  to  know  the  meaning  of  the  sign  is  coded  and  not coded  in  the  four  studied political  advertising.  Meanwhile,  the  methodology  used  is  descriptive  qualitative research methodology. Abstract

Nowdays, the improvement of nasionalism is needed.  One of them is the pround feeling throught our  national  football.  In  motivation  national  football  team  player.  It  is  needed  to  sing  a  song which has nasional theme. One of them is Garuda di Dadaku. This research is aimed to identify and to classify optimism aspects in Garuda di Dadaku and also to describe denotative and conotative meaning and also mitos based on those aspects. This  rescach  belongs  to  descriptive  qualitative,  the  source  of  data  is  the  lyrics  of  Garuda  di Dadaku, where as data in this research in all of phrase which consist of optimism aspects. This research used semiotics analysis theory of Roland Barthes. The analysis was done throught three steps, namely denotation level, conotation level and mitos. The results of  analysis shows that there  are three  optimism aspect in  Garuda di Dadaku lyrics. There  are  permanensi,  pervasivitas  and  personalisasi.  Base  on  eleven  data,  the  distribution  to ward the aspect are 6 data consider as permanensi aspects, data classified as pervasivitas aspect and  data  categories  as  personalisasi  aspect.  Where  as  in  mitos  level  data  categories  a  two. Namely proud and pride.
