Abstract

Background: acute Coronary Syndrome patients often return to the hospital due to relapses that occur after they are declared cured. Secondary prevention programs are an important part for ACS patients to treat and stop the disease process and prevent them from complications and disability. Nurses have an important role in carrying out secondary prevention, especially for ACS patients to train patients to live a healthy lifestyle.Purpose: the purpose of this review study was to map and explore the implementation of secondary prevention in acute coronary syndrome patients initiated or coordinated by nurses. Methods: this study used scoping review design by including all full-text primary studies written in English and published in the last 10 years from 7 sources including EBSCO-hosted Academic Search Complete, PubMed, ScienceDirect, Sage Journals, Taylor and Francis, ProQuest, and Google Scholar. All study results were extracted manually using the tabulation method and analyzed thematically. Results: nurses can support secondary prevention through LDL reduction and lifestyle modifications. LDL reduction involves lipid-lowering medications, the NAILED-ACS approach, and Nursing Coordinated Care (NCC). Lifestyle modifications include promoting healthy habits, ensuring medication adherence, counseling for smoking cessation, and implementing programs for weight loss and physical activity. Conclusion: secondary prevention initiated or coordinated by nurses in the form of LDL reduction intervention and lifestyle modification program have been shown to be effective in reducing the risk of recurrent ischemia in patients with acute coronary syndrome.

Abstract

Background: pregnant women have a higher risk of experiencing severe complications related to Covid-19. For this reason, vaccination is essential to do. However, it was reported that 79.2% of pregnant women were unsure about getting vaccinated, and even 78.4% were worried about the side effects.Purpose: this research was conducted to determine the effect of knowledge, attitudes, and anxiety of pregnant women on receiving COVID-19 vaccination. Methods: using a quantitative method with a correlational type, as many as 40 pregnant women in the second and third trimesters were selected to be involved by Accidental Sampling. Results: the results showed that 90% of respondents had sufficient knowledge, 80% had a good attitude, 77.5% of pregnant women had severe anxiety, and 85% accepted the vaccination. Based on the multiple linear correlation test, the influence of knowledge, attitude, and anxiety on the acceptance of the Covid-19 vaccination was 0.049, 0.000, and 0.526, respectively. Partial regression analysis for each independent variable shows only the t count > t table value for the knowledge and attitude variables. Conclusion: the higher the level of knowledge and the more willing pregnant women are to receive vaccinations, the higher the acceptance of COVID-19 vaccination during pregnancy.

Abstract

Background: COPD is a chronic obstructive disease that causes breathing resistance, resulting in an increase in respiratory frequency. To reduce shortness of breath in COPD patients, independent nursing interventions can be carried out, one of which is providing a combination of Active Cycle of Breathing Technique (ACBT) techniques. In addition to loosening and relieving the respiratory tract.Purpose: this study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of Active Cycle of Breathing Technique (ACBT) and effective coughing in reducing respiratory rate among patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD).Methods: using a pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest approach, 30 COPD patients from Dr. Wahidin Sudirohusodo Regional General Hospital were recruited via purposive sampling technique obtained as many as 30 people. Data collection techniques in this study were carried out by observing the value of respiratory rate before and after giving ACBT and effective cough. Data analysis using paired T-test.Results: the results showed a significant decrease in respiratory rate after the intervention (mean pre-test: 24.97, post-test: 22.97; p < 0.001). These findings suggest that ACBT combined with effective coughing is an effective nursing intervention to manage respiratory symptoms in COPD patients. Conclusion: the conclusion is that there is an effect of the combination of Active Cycle of Breathing Technique (ACBT) and Effective Coughing on changes in repiratory rate in COPD patients.
