Abstract

The main purpose of this community science and technology program is to improve health and optimize the potential of SDN 1 Perean Kangin in learning activities. There are a number of problems that SDN 1 Peran Kangin has, namely: 1) there are still many students who cannot brush their teeth properly, 2) students cannot wash their hands according to the guidelines of the Department of Health in the school yard and 4) there is no trash can classroom. To overcome these problems, technology transfer is needed through counseling activities, and demonstrations in the field. From the activities that have been done, the results are 1) students are able to brush their teeth properly because of the direction and demonstration from the dentist 2) students are able to wash their hands according to the MOH instructions, 3) the plants in the school yard have labeled the Latin name of the plant , 4) each class room has organic and non-organic bins.

Abstract

Mejejahitan is one of the cultural arts in Bali. Mejejahitan is an activity to get shapes from pieces of leaves. The results of this activity are known as jejahitan. This research is a qualitative research. The purpose of this research is to analyze the etnomathematics that exist on the Jejahitan Bali. The subjects of this study were four housewives from Ubud village as many as four people.Data in this study were obtained through interviews and observations. The data obtained are then analyzed with three steps, namely reduction, presentation, and conclusions. Mathematical elements found in the Jejahitan Bali include square, rectangle, triangle, isosceles trapezoid, and circle. This plane shapes can be used in teaching planimetry especially the properties of the plane, the area and perimeter, line of symmetry and rotational symmetry of plane shapes.

Abstract

Pecha Kucha is a concise oral presentation style where the presenter has 20 seconds to describe the main idea of ??each PowerPoint slide that displays images without text (Nguyen, 2015). the purpose of this study was to analyze the focus of the topic of Pecha Kucha presentations delivered by IV semester students of Biology Education. The research method is classroom action research conducted in three cycles. The study was conducted with a Pecha Kucha-based discussion learning model. The research subjects were 20 semester Biology education students as many as 20 people. This research was carried out from March to May 2018. The results of the study showed that there was a positive impact on the use of Pecha Kucha techniques for presentation activities. Topics, in the first cycle there was a tendency for the selection of physics, chemistry and biology themes, while for the second and third cycles, the tendency to choose presentation topics experienced a shift towards the biological science family. And the conclusion of this research is that the topic of presentation chosen by students has a shift from cycle I to cycle III, namely from collaborative materials of physics, chemistry and biology to only biological material. Submission of presentations using the Pecha Kucha technique has a positive impact on learning activities.

Abstract

Tegal Harum is a village located in the city of Denpasar where two PKK groups in the village, namely PKK from Banjar Asta Bhuana and Buana Kubu, experienced problems in managing garbage. The density of the population in this area has implications for the abundant amount of waste produced. On the other hand, residents do not understand the waste management at the household level. So far, they only rely on garbage collectors who come to pick and manage the garbage from residents? homes. Some problems that occur as the garbage collectors do not come is having the garbage scattered by stray dogs or cats. Furthermore, ugly litters cause unpleasant odors, and even become homes for mosquitoes or mice which eventually sources of illness for the surrounding residents. PKM PKK Banjar Asta Bhuana and Buana Kubu aims at (1) in terms of environment: overcoming air pollution, eliminating the breeding grounds for disease vectors, and tackling floods and the potential for drainage pollution; (2) management aspects: increasing human resources in waste management at the household level with simple technology and training the management of waste disposal into organic fertilizer to improve soil quality; (3) aspects of the use of solid and liquid fertilizers: socializing the use of solid and liquid organic fertilizers as a result of household composters to replace the role of chemical fertilizers in fertilizing the soil and triggering the interest of PKK members to plant again in their home yard. The Community Partnership Program (PKM) of the PKK group in the self-management of organic waste was carried out through counseling and training methods. Counseling was carried out regarding the importance of environmental sanitation, sorting organic and inorganic waste, and using organic fertilizer. Then, training includes household waste management, simple use of home composter technology, and the procedure for harvesting solid and liquid fertilizers produced by the composter. From the activities that have been carried out, the results obtained are as follows: (1) PKK groups were able to carry out self-management of organic waste independently and sustainably through waste segregation and the use of composter technology, (2) production of solid and liquid organic fertilizers to meet fertilizer needs in households, and (3) improving partner's quality of life, health, and environment.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out whether the application of inquiry learning models can improve the ability to analyze short story intrinsic elements and can improve students' responses. This study uses a class action research design (PTK), there are four important components in the PTK cycle, namely: (1) the planning stage, (2) the stage of action, (3) the stage of observation and, (4) the stage of reflection. This research was carried out in the odd semester of August to September 2018. The research subjects were students of class XI MIPA 10 in SMA Negeri 7 Denpasar in the academic year 2018/2019 with a total of 36 students. The object of this class action research is the ability to analyze short story intrinsic elements. The results of this study indicate increasing the ability to analyze short story texts (1) The acquisition of the average grade value at the initial reflection of 65.64 increased in the first cycle to 73.42 and in the second cycle it increased to 82.03. (2) Increasing the value from cycle I to cycle II occurs in 28 students or 77.78%. The percentage of success of students in learning to analyze the intrinsic elements of short stories reaches classical completeness 94.44% of the number of students get 70 and above. The application of the inquiry learning model in learning analyzes the intrinsic elements of the short story to get a positive response from students (1) The acquisition of the average class response value in the first cycle is 69.12 and in the second cycle it increases to 84.31. (2) Percentage of responses of students in learning to analyze the short story intrinsic elements with the application of inquiry learning models achieving classical completeness, namely 94.44%.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the success of the Drill method in an effort to improve the ability of VII B grade students in composing compound sentences with conjunctions in Denpasar Public Middle School 12. The scope of this research is the application of the Drill method to improve the ability to compile compound sentences with conjunctions in class VII B of SMP Negeri 12 Denpasar in the academic year of 2014-1015. The type of method used in this study is Drill (exercise), this method emphasizes repetitive aspects of training, thus providing permanent skills to students.Conclusions in the pre cycle showed that the ability of students not yet fulfilling the minimum completeness criteria was 75, with the average value obtained was 4.35 with less categories. Then the data acquisition was continued on the cycle I action which had experienced a slight increase but had not met the criteria of 5.5 with almost enough categories. With the acquisition of data in the first cycle which states that it has not fulfilled the KKM so that it continues on the second cycle, in the second cycle the average score obtained by students is 66.5 with sufficient categories, in the third cycle the average student can fulfill the KKM is amounting to 8.17 in the good category. The results obtained from cycle I, cycle II, and cycle III have increased and have met the Mininum Mastery Criteria (KKM) that apply in the school that is equal to 75, this proves that the Drill method used can improve students' abilities in composing compound sentences.

Abstract

       In teaching and learning activities the role of motivation is very necessary. The low motivation of student learning is often thought to be the cause of the low quality of graduates of a college. This causes in some private universities, learning motivation factors get special attention. Measuring the success of students in following the learning process in an educational institution is indicated by student learning achievement. Based on the background above, the authors conducted a study that aimed to examine the effect of the relationship between student learning motivation on student learning achievement at STIMIK Stikom Bali. The data used in this study are primary data derived from filling out questionnaires from STIMIK Stikom Bali students. The analysis technique used to study the effect of learning motivation on student learning achievement is simple linear regression. The results of this study are student learning motivation has a positive effect on student learning achievement significantly. The benefits of this study can provide evaluation results for the management of STIKOM Bali's STMIK management about the relationship between learning motivation and student learning achievement so that it becomes a consideration for improving the quality of education in STMIK STIKOM Bali.

Abstract

SMP Negeri 7 Denpasar is one of the leading schools located in the City Center, namely Jalan Gunung Rinjani, Denpasar. This school has many achievements, both in the academic field and in the non-academic field. In the academic field, SMP Negeri 7 Denpasar is one of three school public schools that have passed verification from the Education Office to implement UNBK. SMP Negeri 7 Denpasar also received an award as one of the schools with integrity in the implementation of National Examination with a value of 9.5. Although most of the teachers at SMP Negeri 7 Denpasar have applied the student active learning approach, in reality teachers find it difficult to implement e-learning  models. Related to similar aspects, namely learning problems. From the aspect of library facilities, SMP Negeri 7 Denpasar already has a representative library and is very comfortable to be used by students both for learning and doing assignments .. But the obstacles or problems here are the types of reading books and subject books in SMP Negeri 7 Denpasar still classified less so students only get reading literature or limited learning resource books. The method used in this study is the interview method, namely in-depth interviews with informants, discussion methods, methods of active participation, demonstration methods, and methods of analyzing the understanding of trainees' teachers (pretest and post test) using a t-test. The results of the analysis show that there are significant differences (p = 0.001 <?) of the teachers' understanding in SMP Negeri 7 Denpasar between before and after participating in e-learning training.

Abstract

Evaluasi kurikulum merupakan salah satu upaya yang dilakukan oleh pemerintah untuk meningatkan kualitas pendidikan di Indonesia. Kurikulum terkini yang digunakan oleh berbagai satuan pendidikan di Indonesia adalah kurikulum 2013. Pendekatan pembelajaran yang digunakan dalam kurikulum 2013 adalah pendekatan saintific/pendekatan berbasis proses keilmuan dengan lima langkah pokok yaitu: mengamati, menanya, mengumpulkan informasi/mencoba, menalar/mengasosiasi, dan mengkomunikasikan. Hal tersebut telah tertuang dalam Peraturan Menteri Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan (Permendikbud) No. 103 tentang Pembelajaran pada Pendidikan Dasar dan Menengah tahun 2014. Setiap guru ataupun calon guru seharusnya memahami dengan baik pendekatan saintifik sebagai dasar dalam mengelola proses pembelajaran di kelas. Berdasarkan latar belakang tersebut dilakukan penelitian yang bertujuan untuk mengkaji tingkat pemahaman mahasiswa dalam penerapan scientific approach. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh mahasiswa FKIP Unmas Denpasar yang melaksaanakan kegiatan PPL tahun akademik 2018-2019. Sedangkan sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh mahasiswa MIPA di lingkungan FKIP Unmas Denpasar yang terdiri dari 29 orang mahasiswa Jurusan Pendidikan Biologi dan 37 orang mahasiswa Jurusan Pendidikan Matematika. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif. Analisis data dengan deskriptif kuantitatif yang dilihat dari analisis dokumen rencana pelaksanaan pembelajaran dan lembar penilaian pemahaman scientific learning. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa tingkat pemahaman mahasiswa dalam penerapan scientific approach termasuk dalam kategori baik.

Abstract

Paper ini membahas tentang aplikasi metoda pencarian acak dalam menentukan titik terjadinya gempa pada gunung Karangetang. Prinsip metoda ini pada dasarnya sama dengan metoda pencarian sistematik tetapi pemilihan model untuk dievaluasi dilakukan dengan cara membangkitkan bilangan random sebanyak 40. Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah data waktu tiba gelombang Primer untuk kejadian gempa tanggal 3, 6, 7, 8, 9 dan 10 April 2002.
