Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the effect of Reduced Beam Section in vierendeel panel element in STFsystem’s inelastic behavior based on earthquake load analysis. STF system is applied to 4, 6, and 10 storey building thatserved as office building. The structure’s system used Special Moment Resisting Frame (SMRF) system in longitudinaldirection (W-E) and STF system in transversal direction (N-S). The analysis method that used in this study is nonlinearpushover analysis. Application of RBS in vierendeel panel element showed that by the increasing of storey number, theductility of the structure was increased in both directions, while N-S direction has bigger ductility than W-E direction.Dissipation energy of the structure was also increased, especially in N-S direction. The first yielding process occurred invierendeel panel element, and then followed by truss and diagonal chord around vierendeel panel element, while the criticalcondition showed still at life safety level

Abstract

This research presents the result of two rectangular filled tube column-to-beam connections under cyclic loadingusing finite element analysis. Connections of all two models were using weld connection and shear tab attached to beamwebs. In this study, 2 models were made: RR-1 and RB-2, which are RCFT connection with RBS and RCFT connectionwithout RBS. This study is conducted to learn, the advantages of RCFT connection with RBS against RCFT connectionwithout RBS. The analysis results observed that cyclic performance of the RBS moment connection was much superior to theconnection without RBS. The highest regions of stress occur in vicinity of beam bottom flange near column face forconnection without RBS. For connection with RBS, the highest regions of stress occur in reduced beam section of the beam.

Abstract

The paper disccuses an analysis study on the design of Eccentrically Braced Frame (EBF) i.e. short link, intermediate link and long link) with K-Braces-type Split 1 floor. The analysis is performed by using ABAQUS with staticmonotonic loading in a single structure (frame). Each element of the frame is modeled as sholid 3D with connections to everyelement in the form of tie constraints and given fixed on each base of the column as a boundary condition. All three models ofthe frame has been analyzed in accordance with the AISC 2010 provisions and then compared the behavior of each of thesemodels. The results indicate that the short link model considered in this study have on a higher over strength value and usedas a proposed model when compared to intermediate link and long link model. It is stated by the failure mechanism as well, the failure is well-occurred in the short link condition than the other models.

Abstract

Currently the mobilization of freight transport from Surabaya to Jakarta or otherwise served by three types of modes transport, including truck, train, and marine vessels. But the majority of the freight transport cargo in the corridor Surabaya – Jakarta is served by trucking so that the impact on the capacity of roads and road load increases. The purpose of this study was to estimate the probability EMKL service manager / Forwarder to switch modes from container truck to railway mode container. The methods used to analyze the research data is a binary logistic regression. The results of these studies indicate that the travel time during the 3-day trip by truck containers will potentially probability modal transfer containers from trucks to rail containers reached 87.49%, and the more need for the use of container sizes of 20 ft. at a cost of Rp. 2,500,000 will potentially modal transfer containers from trucks to rail container by 82.34%, more than the container size of 40 ft. at a cost of Rp. 4,000,000 by 50%.

Abstract

Concrete-filled tubes (CFT) are gaining popularity due to their excellent performance under compression. Various materials have been used to produce CFTs. Their behavior varied significantly due to the properties of the materials. In this study, numerous articles related to CFT were reviewed. The effects of carbon steel, stainless steel, fibre-reinforced polymers (FRP), plastic materials, and various kinds of concrete on CFT were observed. The fundamental principles governing the behavior of CFT were then determined. The confinement effect of the tube was the key to the outstanding performance of CFT. CFT performed well when the tube had high compressive strength, elastic modulus, tensile strength, ultimate strain, and corrosion resistance. The concrete with high compressive strength and ultimate strain, as well as low elastic modulus and shrinkage, experienced greater strength enhancement under confinement. Nevertheless, confinement effectiveness was greatly affected by the slenderness ratio. Short CFT subjected primarily to axial loads was preferred.

Abstract

Decisions for multi-person on building system selection are very complicated since many parties involved. Where a number of stakeholders are involved in choosing single alternative from a set of alternatives, there are different concern caused by differing preferences, experiences, and background. Therefore, a support system is required to enable each stakeholder to evaluate and rank the solution alternatives before engaging into negotiation. This paper presents a validation process of the negotiation support system in building system selection. A case study was carried out in a real estate company in Indonesia. Validation was conducted to a framework of coalition formation as a basis algorithm of negotiation support for building system selection in construction. Two methods of validation were conducted in a group decision to select building roof system. These methods are decision result validation by similarity index and stakeholder preferences validation by canonical correlation analysis and a set of descriptive statistic analysis. Two others conventional model were compared with the coalition formation algorithms. This validation process reveals that the algorithms proposed is better than single weight factor and aggregation method in terms of closely to the best fit option, stakeholder satisfaction, and performance of the model.
