Currently, the practices of the mafia of law in Indonesia is getting more rampant. Law enforcement is very slow, many cases of corruption offenses as crimes extra ordinary crime are addressed will slow grind lower law. The ineffective of law in Indonesia is also dependent on these factors. Primarily extraordinary people. Several law enforcement officials are easily bribed by corrupt actors with the aim to escape punishment or lighten their sentences. Laws are formulated to deal with the corruption that seems barren. Factually Indonesia shows that is still ranked below Malaysia, Singapore, and Hong Kong, as well as Vietnam and the Philippines. The outcome in the form of impacts and benefits of combating corruption unclear to this day. This paper will to describe that law enforcement combating corruption will be supported by extraordinary measures and extraordinary people. Especially, Indonesia, a majority Muslim country in fact the largest Muslim country in the world, a large number of Islam is really potential become a leader in combating corruption.

This article deals with the meanings of the living al-Qur’an and how as socio-cultural phenomena they can be studied anthropologically. The living al-Qur’an here is interpreted as the meanings given by the people (Moslem as well as non-Moslem) to al-Qur’an and how these meanings are actualized in their daily lives. Some of its social meanings are given here and explained. Seen in that way, the living al-Qur’an can thus be studied by using anthropological perspectives, such as acculturation perspective or diffusion perspective, functional perspective, structural perspective, phenomenological perspective and hermeneutical or interpretive perspective.***Artikel ini membahas tentang makna al-Qur’an hidup dan bagaimana sebagai fenomena sosial bidaya al-Qur’an dapat dikaji secara antropologis. Al-Qur’an yang hidup di sini diinterpretasikan sebagai makna yang diberikan oleh masyarakat (Muslim maupun non-Muslim) terhadap al-Qur’an dan bagaimana makna ini diaktualisasikan dalam kehidupan mereka sehari-hari. Beberapa makna sosialnya akan dibahas di sini dan akan dijelaskan. Dengan cara seperti itu al-Qur’an hidup dapat dikaji secara antropologis, yaitu dengan perspektif akulturasi, difusi, fungsional, fungsional struktural, fenomenologi, dan hermeneutik atau interpretif.

Efforts to create peaceful world by upholding values of pluralism and to bring prosperity on earth by developing science and technology become very crucial and urgent. However, horizontal conflicts due to religious differences and technological abuses are still prevalent. This study provides an alternative design for Islamic education that is believed to be able to make life on earth more advanced, peaceful and prosperous with reference to al-Ghazali’s thoughts. It reveals some possible ways to empower pesantren to meets the needs of students in the contemporary era, extracted from al-Ghazali’s thoughts on shak, tawāḍu‘, ṣuḥbah, mukhtalif al-alwān and the classification of knowledge. The study is qualitative research with descriptive analysis of literatures concerning education. In this paper, the author argues that such an ideal pesantren should uphold the characteristics of (1) inclusive religious education, (2) balanced religious and scientific development, (3) student-centered learning, and (4) entrepreneurial institution.

The involvement of local wisdom in conflict resolution and peace building is not the only way to resolve conflict. Some level of conflict resolution should be there along the path of conflict resolution. The stressing on the patterns of conflict resolution is still limited on conflict settlement and need to develop toward peace building involving local wisdom which ic proven to be able to maintain social harmony. Considering to the norms had been long internalized among society, the society members strongly held the society order. The most important in this context is the need in the side of the elites to discuss the patters of local wisdom based peace building.

This paper discusses the dynamic of the Khalwatiyah Sufi Order in North Luwu, South Sulawesi. The type of research is qualitative. The research focuses were the dynamic between the leader (caliphs) and followers of the Khalwatiyah Sufi Order. The authors gathered data through library and field research. The techniques to obtain the data were observation, interview, and documentation. The instruments used were interview guidelines, writing instruments, and mobile phones to record audio and video data. The results showed that: 1) The absence of caliphs who guide and teach the Khalwatiyah followers; 2) The assumption of a Khalwatiyah follower said that today's society is modern material life; 3) The absence of regeneration of these Khalwatiyah followers; 4) The young people from the Khalwatiyah family attending tertiary institutions and following various social organizations, they are more likely to develop their organizations than follow the Khalwatiyah ritual. 5) The effect of the environment.

This article had the purpose to analyze the functions of the mosque that is not only as a center of activities of ibadah, but also as the center of da‘wa and Muslim social and economic activities. The orientation of da‘wa that emphasized individual improvement dealing with in the quality of faith have neglected one important dimension of da‘wa, namely the development and empowerment of the Muslims as a whole. Through a qualitative descriptive approach and collecting data through observation and interviews, it was founded that communities which are empowered are not seen as passive recipient of the service, but a community that has a variety of potential and capabilities that can be empowered. Muslim community empowerment activities can be done through mentoring by boasting motivation, increasing awareness, developing knowledge and attitudes to enhance their capabilities, mobilizing productive resources and developing economic and da‘wa activity.

Integration of Islamic teachings has given a significant contribution for Indonesian economic life and establishment of Indonesian basic constitution namely the Undang-Undang Dasar (UUD) 1945. The founding fathers of Indonesia has elaborated the substance of economic value in the 1945's by using “economic democracy” term. Descriptive-analytical method and historical literary approach were applied in this study to explore the economic democracy in relation with the teachings of Islamic economy in the UUD 1945, especially in the discussion on social welfare. The results of study found that the democratic system of Indonesian economy is a distinctive model of economy system, while it is different from capitalist and liberal economics. The democratic system of Indonesian economy, which refers to 1945, were implemented in the form of Koperasi as an economic system. Principlly it rejects to capitalism and liberalism, while integrating the Islamic economics values. At the same time, it combines with the Indonesian economic values called “populist economy’.

Problems of fraud committed by a company’s internal party are hitherto still problematic to figure out, including in sharia microfinance institutions. This research examines the benefit of maintaining employees’ morality for the improvement of internal control in sharia microfinance institutions. The object of this research is Anda BMT (sharia microfinance institution in Indonesia). The research uses a qualitative method. The data were obtained by interviewing the managers and twenty employees, and also through field observations for four months. The result of this research shows that the management needs to improve the employees’ morality as it is the key element to prevent fraud act. The efforts made to improve the employees’ morality are like praying together, joining a program of Islamic study once a week, and targeting all employees to read the Quran at least One Day One Juz (ODOJ). Islamic religious activities should be applied to sharia financial institutions in order to improve the employees’ morality and to diminish the act of fraud. It is because the employees who properly carry out Islamic religious activities may reduce the potency of fraud.

This study discussed about the role of Aswaja lesson in the efforts of de-radicalization. Radicalization had been more and more evolved since after the fall of New Order. Reformation Era opened wide varieties of expression, included religious expression. The development of radicalization led to widespread of social unrest. Responses appeared, included using the counter-ideology. Aswaja was believed as being able to prevent the proliferation of radicalization. The data presented in this article was derived from observation, interview and review of the literature related to the topic of writing. The argument developed in this paper is that the reconstruction and actualization of the values contained in Aswaja might be personally internalized firmly. An important strategy that might be applyed to disseminate and internalize Aswaja is through education. In the schools in which applying Aswaja lesson, students had the opportunity to have a moderate religious understanding and avoid radicalization.
