Abstract

In attending mathematics lectures, new students are often passive due to the non-uniform background of understanding concepts and adjustment factors for the new campus environment. This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) that aims to determine the increase in activity and learning outcomes of Discrete Mathematics in the first semester students of the Computer Management Skills Program to apply the Probing Prompting learning method. The research was conducted on 2018/2019 odd semester students with a total of 30 students. Data were collected through observation and learning outcomes tests. The application of the probing prompting method on the subject of the Matrix can increase the learning activities of new students; it can be seen that the average value of student learning activities from cycle I to cycle II has increased significantly. Student mathematics learning outcomes on the Matrix subject also experienced a significant increase from cycle I to cycle II. It can be concluded that the use of the probing prompting learning model in mathematics learning in the Matrix subject can increase student activity and learning outcomes.

Abstract

Learning process that utilizes the environment as a source of learning enables the process of shaping students’ personality towards more positive atitudes, such as caring the environment, reducing pollution, and increasing students' abilities to be more creative, innovative, and have an entrepreneurial spirit. This study aims to develop learning media in the form of entrepreneurship- based booklet for shrimp waste management for high school students. This research is a development research using ADDIE model. Data obtained from questionnaires given to students and teachers. Small group trials were continued with large group trials performed on students in SMAN 1 and SMAN 2 Tanjung Jabung Barat, and 1 biology teacher at each of these schools. Prior to the trial, product validation is done by material experts and media experts. In the small group trials at SMAN 1 and SMAN 2, the responses were 84% and 81% respectively, both are in the "very good" category. In the large group trial, the responses were 80% and 84% with was in the category of "good" and "very good". The perception of biology teachers in each school were 75% and 77% both were in the "good" category. The entrepreneurship-based shrimp waste management booklet is appropriate to be used as a learning medium on waste recycling materials for high schools.

Abstract

The 21st century technology and communication advancement require teachers to use learning media in Android-based smart books. This study aims to develop android-based biology learning media on mushroom material and test the feasibility of learning media developed according to media experts and material experts. The development employs used the ADDIE model by Lee & Owen, which consists of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and evaluation stages. The product was tested by students of class X SMK-SPP Negeri 3 Kerinci and assessed by media experts and content experts. Their responses were collected through a questionnaire. The results of this study are learning media in the form of an Android-based mushroom smart book made in the Android Package (.apk) format using Adobe Flash Professional CS6 software. The product is attractive, practical, and easily accessible. The product is suitable used in learning based on the media expert's assessment of 94% and the material expert's assessment of 96.3% (very feasible category)

Abstract

The 2013 curriculum emphasizes character in every learning. One effort to shape students' character of discipline, honesty, curiosity, independence, and responsibility is the internalization of character values ​​in the learning of Physics Practicum. This study aims to describe the internalization of the character values ​​of students at MAN Insan Cendikia Jambi. The method used in this research is a descriptive qualitative method through observation, self-assessment, and interviews of six students of class XI consisting of three female students (S1W, S2W, and S3W) and three male students (S4L, S5L, and S6L). The results showed that the six students experienced internalization of character values ​​by accepting and carrying out the practicum. Moreover, students with high disciplinary characters also had high responsibility characters, while students with low disciplinary characters also had low responsibility characters.

Abstract

The character of students, in general, is still not well developed. We need teaching material for LKPD (Student Worksheet) enriched with character values. This study aims to produce character-based LKPD adopted from quantum teaching and determine teachers' and students' feasibility and responses to the LKPD. This study uses the ADDIE development model, which consists of five stages. LKPD was validated by the material validator three times with a final score of 56 and a response value of 87.5% (excellent category), while the media validator twice with a final score of 64 and a response value of 100% (excellent category). Furthermore, two teachers carried out practitioner validation with an average score of 80.5 and a response value of 87.5% (the product is feasible to be tested and applied in learning). One-on-one trials with three students as the subject got a score of 166 and a response value of 86.5% (excellent category). The small group trial with nine subjects scored 289, and the response value was 89.2% (excellent category). The study concludes that the LKPD based on quantum teaching can be used in class VII SMP learning.

Abstract

Media is one of the essential components in learning to reach the highest learning outcomes. Therefore, teachers should create and utilize media in every learning process. This study aimed to develop an e-practicum manual based on guided inquiry class material for grade VII students of junior high school. The manual was developed using the ADDIE development model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). Data were collected using questionnaire of media experts, material experts, and teacher and student perception questionnaires. This research was conducted at state junior high school 2 Jujuhan Bungo Regency Jambi Province. This study shows that the instructional e-practicum manual based on inquiry is considered interesting and suitable for learning.

Abstract

The learning activities at SMPN Satu Atap 3 Tungkal Ulu still lack in training students to be active in the learning process so that students' learning outcomes are not optimal. This study aims to improve student learning outcomes by applying the Experiential Learning model. This study also observes the atmosphere of the learning environment that helps the application of the Experiential Learning model in improving student learning outcomes. This type of research is Classroom Action Research (PTK) guided by the Kemmis and Mc Taggart model, which consists of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. This study involved students of class VIIA SMPN Satu Atap 3 Tungkal Ulu. The data was collected employing observation sheets and analysis of learning outcomes tests. The results showed that the application of the Experiential Learning model could improve student learning outcomes. A comfortable, safe, and fun learning environment is also a determining factor for students to learn more actively, which will help improve student learning outcomes.

Abstract

The requirement for evaluation instruments learning outcomes authentically need to be done to get description totality about the student competence, when carry out biology experiment activity on katalase enzyme subject matter. This sudy aims to produce the final product in the form of an evaluation instrument for catalase enzyme experiment test. Development model adopted in this study is ADDIE model. Based on the results of expert judgement, the instrument was valid and can be tested in classroom. The results of the expert validation, evaluation instrument found that the enzyme catalase experiment test has appropriated entirety, in terms of the content aspect, constructs, linguistic, and practicalities. The test results were showed that the instrument has high realiability and validity for all student competency. Therefore, the conclusion is this evaluation instrument theority and rasionally that good and valid to use for measuring and considering all student competency for catalase enzyme experiment test.

Abstract

Learning process for repairing computer competency at skill competency of Multimedia at SMK Negeri 2 Merangin has not been run effectively. In fact, learning material in repairing computer just used modul as teaching materi and media learning. While, to get the competency thad needed, learning process should be supported by leaning tool well. For answer the problem above, teacher as a fasilitator in achievment of students competency is demanded to creative in learning management. One of them is by finding alternative solution that is by develop audiovisual media for learning of Repairing Computer that can give solution in lerning process. Development of this media aim to product efective media in learning material of repairing computer at SMK Negeri 2 Merangin. Development model that chosen is based on Borg and Gall model that adapted lerning design Dick and Carey model. Development process is done by 5 main steps: (1) Doing analysis, (2) Design pre product, (3) Validation and revision, (4) Try out at small scale field and, (5) Try out big group field.

Abstract

This research is descriptive qualitative research. the purpose of this research is to analyse the pedagogical content knowledge of science’s teachers SMA Negeri 11 Kota Jambi, by using purposive sampling technique consist of nine teachers, they are two chemistry teachers, three biology teachers, three mathematics teachers and one physic teacher ware taken as a research subject are categorized as experienced, teachers who are competent in their field base on their educational background. Data collection was conducted a questionnaires reseach instruments by using a  Likert scale measurement, then followed by interviews to a mathematics teacher, a physic teacher, a biology teacher and a chemistry teacher which is reinforced by chech of documents and field observations. The result showed that teacher’s knowledge of pedagogical content knowledge still low, it can be seen from the seven aspects of PCK teachers only four aspects that can be mastered by the teacher, they are knowledge learning strategies, knowledge of the subject matter and education learning, knowledge of communication with learners and knowledge of assessment and evaluation. three of PCK teachers who still don’t understand yet are knowledge of learners and their characteristics, knowledge of curriculum development and knowledge of potential learners development.
