Abstract

Mosques in Indonesia have historically relied on traditional philanthropic sources: infaq, sedekah, waqf and grants from government and private entities. Conversely, productive funding models have remained systematically underdeveloped. This study aims to analyze the dynamics and accountability of a mosque funding model based on a palm oil plantation. It further evaluates the scheme's potential as an alternative for fulfilling the mosque's religious, economic, and social functions. The study employs a qualitative approach, utilizing a single case study methodology focused on Darussalam Mosque in Mukomuko Regency, Indonesia. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, passive-participant observation, and analysis of local archival documentation. The findings indicate that the SSTBS (Sedekah Satu Tanda Buah Sawit) scheme, combined with plantation management, successfully established a sustainable funding source that supports the mosque's physical infrastructure development. However, accountability for this management remains informal, relying heavily on trust-based relationships rather than a documented administrative system. Despite this limitation, the model demonstrates significant potential for replication by other mosques, particularly those within agrarian communities, contingent upon the strengthening of institutional and financial governance. This study contributes to the discourse on productive asset-based mosque financing, a topic largely unexplored within the field of da'wah management.

Abstract

The halal lifestyle trend is growing, with non-Muslim countries beginning to brand themselves as Muslim-friendly countries, including South Korea. However, there are still not many studies that discuss this issue in depth. Many new studies focus solely on strategies to attract tourists in Muslim-majority countries. The purpose of this study is to analyze the collaboration between the government, organizations, and cultural diplomacy as effective strategies for increasing Muslim tourist visits. The research method used is a literature study. The results show that collaboration among the government, the Korea Tour Organization, the Korea Muslim Federation, and cultural diplomacy significantly increases Muslim tourists' interest in visiting. This study also demonstrates that collaboration among various parties is a strategy that significantly influences tourist interest and strengthens the position of halal tourism destinations worldwide.

Abstract

The aim of this paper is to analyze the influence of CEO characteristics on Islamic Social Reporting (ISR) in Indonesia's Islamic banking sector during the period 2015–2020. The independent variables dealt with are CEO age, CEO business educational background, CEO gender, and CEO experience. The independent variables were tested against ISR as the dependent variable with multiple regression analysis. Findings from this study have shown that CEO age and CEO gender negatively and significantly influence the ISR, while CEO experience positively and significantly influences it. On the contrary, the CEO's business education background is not significantly related to the ISR. This could therefore provide very important contributions for both practitioners and researchers in comprehending the factors of Islamic social reporting practice in the Islamic banking sector of Indonesia. Such findings will also be used as a launching pad for future research involving wider samples and other methodological approaches that would increase insight into the dynamics of Islamic social reporting practices in Indonesia.
