Abstract

th: 0px; "> AbstractThis research is experiment. The purpose of this research was to know the differences of students’learning achievement between SAVI class and Direct Instructional class in mathematical learningprocess on sets topic at SMP Negeri 1 Binjai. The population of this research was all VII gradestudents of SMP Negeri 1 Binjai which consists of 9 classes, whereas the sample consist of 2 classes,they are VII-4 as experimental class consists of 30 students and VII-5 as control class consists of 30students. Experimental class used SAVI, whereas control class used direct instruction learning model.Collecting data technique of this research was pre-test that given in the end of learning process inexperimental class and control class. The type of this test is essay test. Before doing hypothesis test, itwould be done normality test and homogeneity test beforehand. From the result of those tests, samplewas taken from normal distribution and homogeneous population. From the data analysis ofexperimental class by using t-test with significance level α = 0.05, it was obtained that tcalculated(8.372) > ttable ( 1.671) then H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted.So, it can be concluded that, there is thedifference of students’ learning achievement from SAVI class between Direct Instruction class and theimprovement of students’ learning achievement in SAVI class is better than students’ learningachievement in Direct Instruction class. On other words, SAVI learning model can improve thestudents’ learning achievement in grade VII on the set topics at SMP N 1 Binjai academic years2014/2015.Keywords : Learning Achievement, Set Topics, SAVI Learning Model, Junior High School, Binjai,North Sumatra

Abstract

Abstrak Kurangnya penggunaan teknologi dalam pembelajaran matematika dan minimnya pengintegrasian materi matematika terhadap nilai-nilai budaya lokal belum dapat menciptakan  manusia intelektual dan bermoral  kebangsaan, maka dibutuhkan solusi untuk memecahkan masalah.Penggunaan teknologi dalam dunia pendidikan merupakan keharusan untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran.  Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMP Kota Medan dan Deli Serdang. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian pengembangan. Hasil penelitian dapat tersusun buku siswa, Buku guru, dan LAS, perangkat tes yang sesuaian dengan model Pembelajaran Matematika Berkonteks Budaya Daerah Sumatera Utara Terintegrasi dengan teknologi untuk melihat aktivitas siswa dan guru dalam mengajar matematika siswa SMP. Kata Kunci : pembelajaran matematika, budaya derah, teknologi

Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan wawasan guru tentang RPP Merdeka Belajar serta meningkatkan kemampuan guru dalam menyusun RPP Merdeka Belajar Daring secara mandiri. Pemetaan pemahaman dan wawasan serta kemampuan guru dilakukan sebelum pelaksanaan penelitian ini guna memperoleh kondisi awal yang akan dibandingkan pada hasil pelaksanaan tindakan. Pengamatan kondisi awal dilakukan dengan memberikan tes berupa soal-soal tentang RPP Merdeka Belajar dan mengumpulkan RPP yang telah disusun oleh masing-masing guru. Dari hasil pengamatan kondisi awal ini diperoleh bahwa dari 47 data yang masuk, rata-rata tingkat pemahaman dan wawasan guru tentang RPP Merdeka Belajar adalah 76,6 %  serta 38 orang guru telah memiliki RPP Merdeka Belajar Daring atau 81 %. Selanjutnya peneliti memastikan kemampuan ke 38 orang guru ini. Apakah sudah benar-benar menguasai Teknik penyusunan RPP Merdeka Belajar Daring atau tidak. Dan ternyata, 50 % mengaku bahwa mereka belum sepenuhnya menguasai Teknik penyusunan RPP Merdeka Belajar. Penelitian ini dilakukan dalam 2 siklus dan masing-masing siklus terdiri dari 2 kali pertemuan. Pengamatan yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini untuk tiap siklusnya adalah test bentuk pilihan berganda dan upload RPP dengan memanfaatkan Google Forms. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah para guru yang mengisi data dalam tahap pemetaan kondisi awal, yakni sebanyak 47 orang guru yang menyebar di 4 sekolah binaan peneliti sebagai pengawas SMA Dinas Pendidikan Provinsi Sumatera Utara. Dari hasil analisis siklus I dan siklus II, diperoleh peningkatan yang signifikan, yakni tingkat pemahaman dan wawasan guru tentang RPP Merdeka Belajar adalah 91,9 % naik sebesar 15,3 % dari kondisi awal. Sementara untuk kemampuan guru dalam menyusun RPP Merdeka Belajar Daring adalah 96 % mengalami kenaikan sebesar 15 %.Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa melalui pembinaan daring, pemahaman dan kemampuan guru dalam menyusun RPP Merdeka Belajar dapat ditingkatkan. Kata Kunci : Pendampingan, Penyusunan RPP Daring, Covid-19. ABSTRACTThis study aims to improve teachers 'understanding and insight about the Free Learning Plans and teachers' ability to independently compile online learning lesson plans. Mapping of teachers' understanding and insights and abilities was carried out prior to the implementation of this study in order to obtain initial conditions that would be compared to the results of the implementation of the action. Observation of the initial conditions was carried out by giving tests in the form of questions about the  RPP Learning-Merdeka  and collecting the lesson plans that had been compiled by each teacher. From the observations of this initial condition, it was found that from the 47 incoming data,, the average level of understanding and insight of teachers about Free Learning Lessons for Learning was 76.6% and 38 teachers had RPP Learning-Merdeka Online  or 81%. Furthermore, the researchers confirmed the abilities of these 38 teachers. Have you really mastered the technique of preparing Online RPP Learning-Merdeka or not. And it turns out, 50% admitted that they had not yet fully mastered the technique of preparing the RPP Learning-Merdeka. This research was conducted in 2 cycles, and each cycle consisted of 2 meetings. The observations made in this study for each cycle were multiple choice form tests and RPP uploads using Google Forms. The subjects in this study were the teachers who filled in the data in the initial condition mapping stage, namely as many as 47 teachers who were spread across 4 research target schools as supervisors of the North Sumatra Provincial Education Office. From the results of the analysis of cycle I and cycle II, obtained a significant increase, namely the level of understanding and insight of teachers about lesson plans for independent learning is 91.9%, an increase of 15.3% from the initial conditions. Meanwhile, the ability of teachers in preparing RPP Learning-Merdeka is 96%, an increase of 15%. Finally, it can be concluded that through online coaching, the understanding and ability of teachers in preparing RPP Learning-Merdeka can be improved.Keywords: Assistance, Online RPP Compilation, Covid-19.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang diajar dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think Talk Write (TTW) lebih tinggi daripada kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang diajar dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think Pair Share (TPS) pada pokok bahasan kubus dan balok di kelas VIII. Jenis penelitian ini adalah eksperimen. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP N 27 Medan semester genap, yang terdiri dari 9 kelas. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah dua kelas yang dipilih secara acak dimana kelas VIII-2 sebagai kelas eksperimen TTW dan kelas VIII-3 sebagai kelas eksperimen TPS dengan masing-masing jumlah sampel 40 orang dalam tiap kelas. Penelitian ini menggunakan satu jenis instrumen yaitu post-test dalam bentuk essay. Dari hasil penelitian yang diberikan, diperoleh  nilai rata-rata post-test kelas eksperimen TTW sebesar 70,3125 dan kelas eksperimen TPS memperoleh nilai rata-rata 64,6875. Berdasarkan pengujian hipotesis yaitu dengan mengggunakan uji t dengan  diperoleh thitung< ttabel (1,5857 < 1,667). Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa H0 diterima dan ditolak sehingga dapat dinyatakan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang diajar dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TTW lebih tinggi daripada kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang diajar dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TPS.Kata kunci: Komunikasi matematis, TPS, TTW ABSTRACT This research aims to know determine whether the mathematical communication ability of  students who learn with Think Talk Write (TTW) cooperative learning model is higher than mathematical communication ability of  students who learn with Think Pair Share (TPS) cooperative learning model on the material of the cube and the beam grade VIII. Type of this research s using quasi experiment. Population in this research is all student grade VIII SMP N 27 Medan., consists of 9 classes. The sampling in this research was done by random sampling, VIII-2 is called experimental class TTW and VIII-3 is called experiment class TPS which amounts to 40 students per class. The instrument used in this research is post-test only design. From the research conducted, obtained the average value of post-test experimental class TTW amounts 70,3125 and the average value of post-test experimental class TPS amounts 64,6875. Based on hypothesis testing by using t test with  obtained thitung< t tabel (1,5857 < 1,667). Abstract

 ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah dengan penerapan Metode Penemuan Terbimbing  pada Materi Kubus dan Balok di Kelas VIII SMP Swasta Brigjend Katamso Medan  dapat meningkatkan aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah Kelas VIII SMP Swasta Brigjend Katamso Medan dengan jumlah siswa 42 siswa dan objek dalam penelitian ini adalah meningkatkan aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa dengan penerapan Metode Penemuan Terbimbing  pada Materi Kubus dan Balok di Kelas VIII SMP Swasta Brigjend Katamso Medan T.A 2014/2015. Pada awal penelitian dilakukan tes awal. Siswa yang tuntas dalam tes awal ini adalah 11 siswa (26,19%) dan rata-rata kelas 58,12. Pada siklus I diperoleh aktivitas siswa yang masuk kategori baik dan sangat baik adalah 14 siswa (33,34%) sedangkan untuk tes hasil belajar I, siswa yang tuntas dalam tes ini sebanyak 26 siswa (61,90%) dan rata-rata kelas 68,17. Pada siklus II diperoleh aktivitas siswa yang masuk kategori baik dan sangat baik meningkat menjadi 30 siswa (71,43%). Sedangkan untuk hasil belajar II. Siswa yang tuntas meningkat menjadi 37 siswa (88,10%) dan rata-rata kelas 79,35. Karena presentase aktivitas siswa yang masuk dalam kategori baik dan sangat baik telah mencapai ≥ 70% dari banyak siswa dan telah mencapai paling sedikit daya serap klasikal ≥85%, maka pembelajaran pada siklus II telah berhasil. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa metode pembelajaran penemuan terbimbing dapat meningkatkan aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa khususnya pada materi kubus dan balok di kelas VIII SMP Swasta Brigjend Katamso Medan. Kata Kunci:Aktivitas dan Hasil Belajar Siswa, Metode Penemuan Terbimbing, Kubus dan Balok. ABSTRACT The purpose of this research is to know whether by Guidance Discovery Method in Cube and Bar material for grade VIII SMP Swasta Brigjend Katamso Medan can improve the activity and students’ study result. The kind of this research is classroom action research which had been held in 2 cycles. The subject of this research is grade VIII of SMP Swasta Brigjend Katamso Medan with the total is 42 students and the object of this research is improving the activity and students’ study result by applying Guidance Discovery Method in Cube and Bar material for grade VIII SMP Swasta Brigjend Katamso Medan T.A 2014/2015. At the beginning of this research. The students who had passed the pre test were 11 students (26,19%) and the class average score was 58,12%. The cycle I, the activity of students which acquired as good and very  good category were14 students (33,34%), whereas the test I of study results who passed the test were 26 students (61,90%) and the class average score was 68,17. The cycle II, activity of students which acquired as good and very good category improved become 30 students (71,43%). Whereas the test II of study results who passed the test were 37 students (88,10%) and the class average score was 79,35. Because of the percentage of the activity of students as good and very good category had achieved ≥ 70% of the subject and had achieved classical comprehended capacity  ≥85%, so the study in cycle II had been succeed. So, it can be concluded that Guidance Discovery Method can improve the activity and the study result of the students especially in cube and bar material for grade VIII SMP Swasta Brigjend Katamso Medan.  Keywords: Activity and Students’ Study, Guidance Discovery Method, Cube and Bar.

Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat bahwa terdapat perbedaan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang diajar dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Jigsaw dan Think Pair Share di SMA Negeri 1 Dolok Masihul. Jenis penelitian ini adalah eksperimen semu. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas X Semester I SMA Negeri 1 Dolok Masihul yang terdiri dari 7 kelas dengan jumlah keseluruhan siswa 252 siswa. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan cara simple random sampling dengan mengambil 2 kelas dari 7 kelas secara acak yaitu kelas eksperimen 1 yang berjumlah 36 orang dan kelas eksperimen 2 yang berjumlah 36 orang. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk mengetahui kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa adalah tes kemampuan komunikasi matematis yang telah divalidasi dalam bentuk uraian. Dari hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa data pretest dan posttest dari kelas eksperimen 1 dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran Jigsaw dan kelas eksperimen 2 dengan model pembelajaran Think Pair Share diperoleh nilai rata-rata kelas eksperimen 1 pretest sebesar 53,4722 dan posttest sebesar 81,7708 dan nilai rata-rata kelas eksperimen 2 untuk pretest sebesar 51,3888 dan posttest sebesar 78,2986. Hasil uji t dengan dua arah dengan dk = 70 dan a = 0,05, diperoleh data pretest dngan thitung = 0,6946 dan ttabel = 1,6698 sehingga ttabel > thitung yaitu 1,6698 > 0,6946 maka H0 diterima, dengan demikian diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa sebelum diberi perlakuan siswa mempunyai kemampuan awal yang sama. Sedangkan pada data posttest diperoleh bahwa thitung > ttabel yaitu 1,6971 > 1,6698 yang berarti diterims Ha sehingga dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa terdapat perbedaan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang diajar dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Jigsaw dan Think Pair Share di SMA Negeri 1 Dolok Masihul.Kata Kunci : Model Pembelajaran Kooperatif Tipe Jigsaw dan Think Pair Share, Kemampuan Komunikasi Matematis.ABSTRACTThe purpose of this research is to see that there are differences in mathematical communication skills of students taught with the Jigsaw and Think Pair Share cooperative learning models at SMA Negeri 1 Dolok Masihul . This type of research is quasi-experimental. The population in this study were all students of class X Semester I of SMA Negeri 1 Dolok Masihul consisting of  7 classes with a total of 252 students. Sampling was done by simple random sampling by taking 2 classes from 7 classes randomly, namely experimental class 1, amounting to 36 people and experimental class 2, totaling 36 people. The instrument used to determine students' mathematical communication skills is a mathematical communication ability test that has been validated in the form of a description. The results showed that the pretest and posttest data from experimental class 1 using Jigsaw learning model and experimental class 2 with Think Pair Share learning model obtained the average value of the experimental class 1 pretest of 53.4722 and posttest of 81.7708 and the average value The experimental class 2 for pretest was 51,3888 and posttest was 78,2986. The results of the two-way t test with dk = 70 and a = 0.05, obtained pretest data with t count = 0.6946 and t table = 1.6698 so that t table> tcalculation is 1.6698> 0.6946 then H0 is accepted, thus concluded that before being treated the students have the same initial ability. Whereas in the posttest data it was found that tcalculation> ttable is 1.6971> 1.6698, which means that Ha ha can reach the conclusion that there are differences in students' mathematical communication skills taught by using Jigsaw and Think Pair Share cooperative learning models at SMA Negeri 1 Dolok Masihul.Keyword : Model Cooperative Learning Jigsaw and Think Pair Share, Mathematical Communication

Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat bahwa terdapat perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis siswa menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe berkirim salam dan soal dengan model pembelajaran kooperratif tipe Think Pair Share pada materi luas permukaan dan volume kubus dan balok di kelas VIII SMP Swata Imelda Medan T.A 2016/2017. Jenis penelitian ini adalah eksperimen semu. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII Semester II SMP Swasta Imelda Medan yang terdiri dari 4 kelas dengan jumlah keseluruhan siswa 136 orang. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan cara simple random sampling dengan mengambil 2 kelas dari 4 kelas secara acak yaitu kelas eksperimen 1 yang berjumlah 30 orang dan kelas eksperimen 2 yang berjumlah 34 orang. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk mengetahui kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis siswa adalah tes kemampuan berpikir kreatif yang telah divalidasi dalam bentuk uraian. Dari hasil penelitian yang diberikan perlakuan yang berbeda, kelas eksperimen 1 dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe berkirim salam dan soal dan kelas eksperimen 2 dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif kooperratif tipe Think Pair Share diperoleh nilai rata-rata kelas eksperimen 1 sebesar 34,375 dan nilai rata-rata kelas eksperimen 2 sebesar 25,368. Hasil uji t 2 arah dengan dk = 62 dan a = 0,05, diperoleh thitung = 2,073 dan ttabel = 1,669 sehingga - ttabel < thitung < ttabel yaitu  maka Ha diterima, dengan demikian  diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa terdapat perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis siswa menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe berkirim salam dan soal dengan model pembelajaran kooperratif tipe Think Pair Share pada materi luas permukaan dan volume kubus dan balok di kelas VIII SMP Swata Imelda Medan T.A 2016/2017. Kata Kunci : Model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe berkirim salam dan soal, Think Pair Share, berpikir kreatif     ABSTRACT This study aims to see that there are differences in the improvement of students' mathematical creative thinking ability using cooperative learning model type greeting and problem with cooperative learning model Think Pair Share type on surface and volume material of cube and beam in class VIII SMP Swata Imelda Medan TA 2016 / 2017. The research is a quasi-experiment. The population in this study is all students of class VIII Semester II of Private Junior High School Imelda Medan consisting of 4 classes with total students 136 people. Sampling is done by simple random sampling by taking 2 classes from 4 classes randomly, that is experiment class 1 which is 30 people and experiment 2 class which is 34 people. The instrument used to determine students' mathematical creative thinking ability is a test of creative thinking ability that has been validated in the form of a description. From the results of the research given different treatment, experimental class 1 with cooperative learning model type send greetings and the problem and experiment class 2 with cooperative cooperative learning model Think Pair Share type obtained average grade experiment 1 of 34.375 and the average grade Experiment 2 of 25,368. Result of t test 2 direction with dk = 62 and a = 0,05, obtained tcount = 2.073 and ttable = 1,669 so - ttable <t count <ttabel that is -1,669 <2,073 <1,669 then Ha is accepted, thus obtained the conclusion that there are differences in the improvement of students' mathematical creative thinking ability using cooperative learning model type send greetings and problems with cooperative learning model Think Pair Share type on surface material and volume of cube and beam in class VIII SMP Swata Imelda Medan FY 2016/2017. Keywords : Cooperative learning model type sends regards and matter, Think Pair Share, creative thinking

Abstract

AbstractThis study was carried out (1) to improve students mathematical problem solving ability through mathematics learning approach at the eight grade students of SMP Negeri 17 Medan T.A 2015/2016, (2) to find the improvement of students mathematical problem solving ability through mathematics learning approach at the eight grade students of SMP Negeri 17 Medan T.A 2015/2016. The participants of this study were the 32 students of VIII-2 class of SMP Negeri 17 Medan and the objective of the study was improving students mathematical problem solving ability in prism an limas subject. The method of this study was classroom action research. The instruments of this study were test and observation. This study was consisted of two cycles; each cycle consisted of two meetings. The improvement of the problem solving ability could be seen from each step of problem solving in the intial capability test, problem solving ability test I and problem solving solving ability test II. In the step of problem solving, the score in the initial capability test was 59,20 (low), problem solving ability test I was 80,08 (high), problem solving ability test II was 89,45 (high). In the step of  constructuring plan of problem solving, the score in the initial capability test was 45,80 (very low), problem solving ability test I was 72,88 (average), problem solving ability test II was 81,47 (high). In the step of doing plan of problem solving, the score in the initial capability test was 52,05 (low), problem solving ability test I was 78,61 (average), problem solving ability test II was 85,38 (high). In the step crosscheck, the score in the initial capability test was 29,69 (very low), ), problem solving ability test I was 71,48 (average), problem solving ability test II was 81,25 (high). So, it was obtained that the lowest step in the problem solving ability was the step of crosscheck. Furhermore, the ability of the researcher in managing lessons increased from cycle I to cycle II. In pre-activity 2,63 became 3,12. In main activity 2,47 became 3,05. In post-activity 2,75 became 3,75. So, it was concluded that realistic mathematics learning approach did improve the mathematical problem solving ability of the eight students of SMP Negeri 17 Medan in prism and limas subject.Kata kunci : realistic mathematics learning approach, problem solving

Abstract

ABSTRAK Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang diajar dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Group Investigation pada materi Bangun Ruang Sisi Lengkung di kelas IX. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (Classroom Action Researh). Subjek dari penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IX-A yang berjumlah 32 orang sedangkan objek penelitian ini adalah kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Group Investigation pada materi Bangun Ruang Sisi Lengkung. Instrumen penelitian ini melalui tes kemampuan komunikasi dan observasi. Soal tes hasil belajar berbentuk uraian, disetiap akhir siklus diberikan tes kemampuan komunikasi matematis yang terdiri dari empat soal. Sebelum tes diujikan, terlebih dahulu soal-soal divalidkan.Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dalam 2 siklus yang masing-masing terdiri dari 3 pertemuan. Dari tes kemampuan komunikasi matematis pada siklus I diperoleh 17 siswa (53,125%) yang memenuhi kemampuan komunikasi matematis (nilainya ≥ 70) dan 15 siswa (46,875%) yang belum memenuhi kemampuan komunikasi matematis dengan rata-rata kelas 66,32. Pada siklus II diperoleh 28 siswa (87,5%) yang memenuhi kemampuan komunikasi matematis dan 4 siswa (12,5%) yang tidak memenuhi tingkat kemampuan komunikasi matematis dengan rata-rata kelas 77,64. Dari siklus I ke siklus II diperoleh peningkatan jumlah siswa yang memenuhi kemampuan komunikasi matematis sebanyak 11 siswa dan rata-rata kelas meningkat sebesar 11,32. Berdasarkan rata-rata hasil observasi yang dilakukan oleh observer, diperoleh pengelolaan pembelajaran yang dilakasanakan oleh guru (peneliti) mengalami peningkatan sebesar = 18,94%, rata-rata observasi guru  siklus I = 73,86% (kategori cukup baik), sedangkan pada siklus II rata-rata hasil observasi guru = 92,80% (kategori sangat baik) dan rata-rata hasil observasi siswa juga mengalami peningkatan sebesar 20,83%, rata-rata observasi siswa siklus I = 70,83% (kategori cukup baik) sedangkan rata-rata observasi siswa siklus II = 91,66% (kategori sangat baik).Karena telah memenuhi kriteria kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa (Indikator keberhasilan dalam penelitian telah tercapai) dan mengalami peningkatan dari siklus I ke siklus II maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Group Investigation dapat meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa pada materi Bangun Ruang Sisi Lengkung. Kata Kunci: Kemampuan komunikasi matematis, Pembelajaran Group  Investigation. ABSTRACTThe aimed of this research was to know the improvement of the students’ ability in mathematical communication that being taught by using cooperative learning method with the type Group Investigation in side of the arch solidsmaterial at the 3rd grade of SMP Swasta Gajah Mada Medan of the year 2017/2018. The type of this researh is Clasroom Action Research . The subject of this research is the third grade students, class 9-A that consisits of 32 students while the object of this research is the students ability in mathematical communication by using cooperative learning method  typeGroup Investigationin side of the arch solids.The instrument of this reseach was done by testing the students skill in communication and doing observations. The type of the test is in form of  essay-test, at the end  of each cycle the students were given a mathematical communication ability test that consists of four questions. The questions of the test being validated first before it given to the students.This research was done into two cycles that consists of three meetings in each cycle. Based on the mathematics communication ability test in cycle 1, there are 17 students (53,125%) who pass the mathematical communication ability test (the scores ) and there are 15 students (53,125%) who could not pass the mathematical communication ability test with the average score 66,32. In cycle 2 there are 28 students (87.5%)who can pass the mathematical communication ability test and there are 4 students who cannot pass themathematical communication ability test with the average score (77.64). From cycle 1 up to cycle 2, there are 11 students who can improve in terms of mathematical communication ability and thestudents average score improved up to 11.32 point. Based on the result of observation sheets that being collected by the observer, it showed that the teaching and learning process that had been conducted by the teacher (researcher) made animprovement (18.94%). The teacher observation sheets in cycle 1 is 73.86% (good level) while in the cycle 2 the teacher observation sheet become 92.80% (very goodlevel) and the result of the students observation sheet also improved up to 20.83%, the average of the students observation sheet in cycle 1 is 70.83% (good level) while the average score of the students observation sheets in cycle 2 is 91.66% (very good level).Since the results of the students ability in matematical communication had been revealed (it had been reached the minimum criteria) and as it stated that there is an improvement from cycle 1 up to cycle 2, so it can be concluded that Cooperative method type Group Investigation can improve the students’ mathematical communication ability in side of the arch solidsmaterial. Keyword: Mathematical comunication ability, Group  Investigation learning.

Abstract

AbstractThe aim of this research is to study if pupils’ mathematical problem solving ability in the classroom that taught using Problem Based Learning (PBL) higher than in the classroom that  taught using Project Based Learning (PjBL). The population of this research is all pupils in class VII SMP Negeri 2 Panai Tengah. The sample of this research consists of twoclasses, namely, VII – 1 as the experiment class taught using PBL (30 pupils), VII – 2 as the comparison class taught using PjBL (31 pupils). The design of this research is posttestonly comparison group. The result of the research shows that the mean score are 54.07in experiment class and 41.32 in the comparison class; and tcalculation ≤ t­table­, that is,1.327 ≤ 1.671 with significance level of 0.05 one tailed. It means that the pupils’ mathematical problem solving ability in the classroom taught using PBL model is not higher than in the class taught using PjBLmodel.Keywords: Mathematical Problem Solving Ability, Problem Based Learning, Project Based Learning
