Abstract

Pradamas Toys is a small and medium industrial company in producing dolls with yelvo fabric base material. The purpose of this study is to know the waste in the puppet production process at Pradamas Toys and to propose improvement of production process to minimize waste and improve production process efficiency in Pradamas Toys. This research uses lean approach with value stream mapping (VSM) tools, at the beginning of the research done depiction of current state mapping on Pradamas Toys, after that do problem analysis using line balancing to leveling cycle time, fishbone diagram used to know factors causing production problem puppets and waste identification in each production process, then analyzed 5 Why and 5W1H to give suggestions for improvement of production process at Pradamar Toys. At current state mapping the production process time is 18.6032 minutes with a lead time of 9 days. After doing the calculation and equalization cycle time by using line balancing, then got the proposed future state mapping for doll production with process time of 14,7300 minutes and lead time of 5 days.

Abstract

PT. ABC as the manufacturer of the mirror trying to make improvements is effective in all production lines, the achievement of value of Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) in the production department shows a very low OEE value. The main factors affecting the low value of the OEE is a factor of downtime, machine performance and high defect rate during the production process. Through analysis of the Six Big Losses obtained three factors, including the factor breakdown, reduce speed and quality losses. To identify losses and reduce the chances of system failure or process performed the analysis using FMEA method with the objective of determining the value of the highest RPN to priority improvements. The highest RPN value to the breakdown and quality was caused by the low quality of raw glass. While the highest RPN value to reduce speed due to the size factor process inefficient. Through the method of 5W+1H drawn up plans for corrective action to be deployed in production department. After doing the improvements for six months as recommended, the OEE value increased.

Abstract

In an industry, the maintenance department plays a very important role in ensuring the smooth production process. The method of machine maintenance with preventive maintenance is a strategy that can be used to repair existing machines. This is related to proper and regular maintenance can improve engine performance and reduce the level of engine damage which will increase the continuity of production activities. In the die casting division of PT Astra Honda Motor in the observation on the die casting machine 07 there were 45 times damage to the ladle component and 11 times the damage to the auto spray component. These two components are critical components of the 07 die casting machine. After testing the compatibility index and the good compatibility of the damage time data and repair time data to obtain distribution data distribution patterns, obtain the tablespoon component MTTF assessment results of 107,833 hours and auto spray components amounting to 314,226 hours. Whereas the MTTR value of the spoon component is 0.385 hours and the auto spray component is 0.766 hours. The next step is to look for critical component replacement time intervals with the age replacement model, to further review whether it is related to increased reliability, decrease in total downtime, and cost savings before preventive maintenance is carried out and after preventive maintenance is carried out.

Abstract

Knowledge Management is a field that attracts a lot of attention both among academics and practitioners. Awareness of applying knowledge management to business strategies is needed because it is proven that companies that make knowledge resources as their main asset are always able to drive companies more innovative towards their competitors, in the knowledge management education industry is a very important asset because knowledge can be captured, codified or stored. This study aims to analyze the influence of knowledge creation, knowledge storage, knowledge sharing and knowledge application on the empowerment of lecturers. Testing the hypothesis in this study using SPSS 23 software. The results showed that knowledge creation and knowledge application affect the empowerment of lecturers, while knowledge storage and knowledge sharing have no effect on the empowerment of lecturers. The implication of the research results is the need to develop knowledge in universities through interaction with other lecturers in the campus environment to encourage the knowledge that is created maintained and sustainable.

Abstract

When Covid-19 emerged in Indonesia in early 2020, students had to learn from home to prevent the spread of the virus. The changing activity could effect on physical and mental health caused by student’s behavior during learning from home. Survey showed that 84% students of Industrial Engineering, Mulawarman University used smartphone while learning from home. Therefore, this study aimed to identify students’ behavior, to measure physical (i.e., musculoskeletal and visual fatique) and mental health (i.e., stress and smartphone addiction) problems that occurred when they were learning from home, as well as to suggest ergonomic recommendation for reducing the negative effects. At the time of the study, they were 155 students studied in the IE department and a total of 134 (86.45%) participated in the online survey. Musculoskeletal disorder was assessed using Nordic Body Map and visual fatique was evaluated using symptoms that were reported on previous studies. Additionally, Smartphone Addiction Scale (SAS) and Perceived Stress Scale (PSS) were administered to identify smartphone addiction tendency and stress level respectively. The results showed that MSD occurred in left and right shoulder (95%), followed by upper neck (82.14%) and back (72.62%). 86% of participants experienced visual fatique with headache (71.55%), ache eye (68%) and dry eye (60.34%) symptoms. Subsequently, this survey revealed that 35% of the participants addicted to smartphone and 68.66% experienced moderate level of stress. To alleviate these physical problems, several ergonomic recommendations were proposed i.e., supporting the arm that holding the smartphone with the other hand, practicing the 20-20-20 rule and applying stop, drop and flop slogan. Moreover, cooperation among parents, students and lecturers was needed to create conducive learning environment so as the mental health problems could be minimized.

Abstract

Abstract. Overall Equipment Efectiveness (OEE) is a calculation method used inTotal Productive Maintenance (TPM) to maximize the effectiveness of machinesin industrial facilities. OEE value is determined by availability rate, performancerate and quality rate. Low OEE of the Hipack III and UNIMACH strippingmachine at PT Promedrahardjo Pharmaceutical industry identified the loweffectiveness of the machine. The aim of research is to improve the effectivenessof the machine by increasing its OEE value. The analytical method used is theanalysis of six big losses, fishbone diagrams, and pareto diagram. The results ofthe research show that the six big losses dominant factors in the machine aredowntime and speedlosses. Abstract

Indonesian Government has electricity program of 35,000 Megawatt. To make this program successful, all cable companies begin to implement strategies to satisfy these needs. Increasing the production capacity is the main program implemented by cable companies in Indonesia. One of the cables companies has production output on copper drawing machine of 11 unit of bobbins per shift with the production process cycle time of 32.32 minutes per bobbin. To improve production capacity, improvements need to be performed to reduce the cycle time of the production process. This research was conducted by applying fishbone and Pareto analysis resulting in three main research problems. SMED methodology was implemented in this research by separating two activities, namely internal setup and external setup, then turning the internal setup to external setup in order to reduce the overall processing duration. From the three main research problems, it results in processing duration reduction from 32.32 minutes to 23.18 minutes or a reduction of 28.28 percent. This reduction can improve the production capacity from 11 unit of bobbins to 16 unit of bobbins per shift or 360 unit of bobbins monthly or increasing the production capacity of 45.45 percent. This SMED program is very suitable for similar companies in cabling field and having old machines so that they do not need to invest by purchasing a new machine.

Abstract. Substitution of leader that causes changes in leadership style, thepresence of factors inhibiting the work culture of discipline and ability to adaptand percentage of employees who participate in training are problems that canhinder learning organization. This study aimed to examine the effect of leadershipstyles, organizational culture and emotional intelligence toward learningorganization in the Human Resources Development Agency of Law and HumanRights, Ministry of Law and Human Rights. This study used quantitative methods.The population of this study is all the employees of the Agency as many as 175people. The sampling technique using probability sampling, with proportionalrandom sampling, found a sample of 122 people, obtained by the formula Slovin.Data were analyzed using multiple regression analysis. The results showed thatthe leadership style, organizational culture and emotional intelligence partiallyand simultaneously have significant effect on learning organization.Transformational leadership style, learning culture and social skills have a moresignificant effect than the other dimensions to the dimensions of a learningorganization. Transformational leaders, the formation of a culture of learning andthe improvement of adaptability skills can promote the establishment of a learningorganization.Keywords: leadership style, organizational culture, emotional intelligencelearning organization.

Abstract

PT. XYZ is automotive component manufacture that produce safety glass are tempered safety glass and laminate safety glass that are supplied to the car maker manufacture in domestic and overseas. Safety glass that are produced by PT. XYZ is for OEM (Original Equipment Manfacture) and ARG (Automotive Replacement Glass). Due to demand from customer always increase in every year, so many things that should be done for improvement on production line to increase production quantity resulted beside additional new production machine. The objective of this research is to improve the laminate production department on the trimming line where on this process is the latest production process that will determine finish good result. There is improvement that was done on this trimming production line is on the loading glass method that firstly is done manually by operator then changed by use supporting tools that is called felting. After kaizen is done, the production result that previously is 1,588 glasses per shift increase to be 1,791 glasses per shift or increase 12.8%. By this increasing production result is hoped the production plan on the next year and there is buffer stock if any additional demand suddenly. This kaizen implementation is suggested can be implemented in others process line that the loading glass method is still manually.

Abstract

PT. PELNI is a company that provides shipping services using sea transportation. One of the services it has is REDPACK, which is a delivery service with priority to maintain package conditions. This service is still relatively new because it is operating in 2019 and evaluation is needed so that efficiency increases by reducing waste. In this study, the method used is Lean Service because the delivery service is in the service sector. The tools used in this research are Value Stream Mapping (VSM) and DEMATEL. VSM is used to analyze the value flow in the service process. VSM results can indicate a process that is not needed. After that, it is continued by identifying process flow waste and determining critical waste in these services. Determination of critical waste is done using DEMATEL. DEMATEL is a method used to analyze the cause-effect relationship of a complex system. The results showed that the main waste factor in logistics services is customer activity reporting incoming cargo. This waste can be repaired by moving the office location into one room with a new warehouse and activity flow.
