Abstract

Result of low mathematics learning associated with many factors. relationship of learning discipline, parental attention, and learning motivation are some of the factors related to the learning outcomes. Therefore, this study was conducted in order to determine whether or not a positive and significant between the relationship of learning discipline, parental attention, and learning motivation with mathematics learning outcomes of students in the VIII class of MTs Negeri Sumberagung Bantul in the even semester in Academic Year of 2015/2016. The population of this research was all students of class VIII MTs Negeri Sumberagung Bantul in the even semester of the academic year 2015/2016 consisting of 5 classes with the total number of 153 students. As a sample class was class VIII B consisting of 30 students by random sampling technique to the class. The data collection technique was performed by a method of testing and questionnaires. The test method used collection data on mathematics learning outcomes of students, whereas the questionnaire method used collection data learning discipline, parental attention, and learning motivation. Test data analysis requirements using the test for normality, independent, and the test for linearity. Data analysis for hypothesis testing using correlation analysis and linear regression analysis. The research result showed that there was a significant positive correlation between learning discipline, parental attention, and learning motivation with Fcount = 11,58570847 and Ftable = 2,98 in order to obtain Fcount > Ftable. Multiple correlation coefficient (R) of 0,7563508799 with a regression equation  with a coefficient of determination  was (R2) 0,5720666536 and effective contribution X1 = 18,786%, X2= 15,582% and X3 =6,216%.

Abstract

The concept is a crucial thing in learning activities, but the importance is not only in the concept itself, but it depends on how students can understand the concept. The lack of a student's ability to use the concepts for problem-solving causes low student learning outcomes. The purpose of this research to determine the effect of the AIR learning model (Auditory Intellectual Repetition) toward the student learning outcomes in the SMP Negeri 1 Yogyakarta, especially in class VIII and in Even Semester in Academic Year of 2016/2017. The population in this research was the students of class VIII A, VIII B, and VIII C SMP Negeri 1 Yogyakarta in 2016/2017, the total amounted to 103 students. Samples were taken by two classes using the Random Sampling technique for the class, and obtained class VIII B as control class and class VIII C as experiment class. Data collecting techniques used are interview and test methods. The instrument testing uses validity test, normality test, and different power test. The data analysis technique used for the prerequisite test is the normality test with Chi-Square and homogeneity test with the Barlett test formula. As for the hypothesis test using the t-test. The results of this research show that, at a significance level 5%, obtained the conclusion that (1) there is an influence between the results of learning mathematics students using the AIR learning model and students using the STAD learning model. It shows by using the result and thus  (2) learning by the AIR model can create the result of the learning better than learning by using STAD model. It shows by the result and thus .

Abstract

Learning based on the group after the students were given Worksheets Students, the teacher will provide problems then described and carried out by teachers in front of the class. It makes the students working on the issue by way of the teacher to face a new problem of students having difficulty in the settlement. The learning model is required that can enhance student learning outcomes by using Model Eliciting Activities. This research aims to know the effectiveness of Model Eliciting Activities against the learning outcomes of students of grade VIII Junior High School (SMP) Muhammadiyah Boarding School (MBS) Prambanan even semester academic year 2017/2018. This research using quantitative research methods. The population used is grade VIII SMP MBS academic year of 2017/2018. The sample used, i.e., class VIII E and VIII F. Data collection techniques used is the test. The instrument used was a pretest and posttest. The data analysis technique used is a prerequisite test analysis and hypothesis testing. The results of research on a significant level of 5% and degrees of freedom = 63 shows; (1) there is a difference in learning outcomes of students using Model Eliciting Activities (MEAs) with learning outcomes of students who use conventional learning model class VIII even semester of SMP MBS Prambanan academic year of 2017/2018. (2) Model Eliciting Activities (MEAs) is more effective than the conventional model against learning outcomes of students of grade VIII, even semester of SMP MBS Prambanan academic year of 2017/2018.

Abstract

The research is done based on the observation that the learning process is still focused on teacher-centered so that students are less active in the learning process and the result is low. The objective of the study is to know the effectiveness of the Teams Games Tournament with a live learning model toward student's mathematics learning outcomes of class VIII at SMP N 2 Tempel sleman regency of odd semester in academic year 2016/2017. This research uses postest-only design. The population of this research is the student of class VIII SMP Negeri 2 Tempel academic year of 2016/2017, which consists of 157 students which is divided into five classes. The sample is taken by 2 classes with a random sampling technique using a lottery, it is delivered by class VIII D as an experiment class and class VIII B as the control class. The collecting data technique uses test. The instrument of collecting data uses the student’s study result. The instrument test of collecting data uses validity, distinguishing capacity and reliability test. The technique of data analysis includes a normal test, homogeny test, then hypothesis test t. The result of the study on significant level α = 5% with df = 59 shows that: (1) there are some differences in the result of Mathematic study between the student which use learning model Teams Games Tournament than the student which use live learning model. It can be seen that  = 2,6332 and   = 2,00134 get . (2) mathematic learning uses learning model Teams Games Tournament is more effective than a live learning model toward the result of Mathematic learning. The result shows that  = 2,6332 and  = 1,6713 get .

Abstract

This research's background problem is that the lack of students' activities in learning activities because of the learning model is not innovative. This research aims to increase students' learning activities using cooperative learning model type Course Review Hooray (CRH) on the subject of plane figures: quadrilaterals on students class VII A of Muhammadiyah Junior High School (SMP Muhammadiyah) 5 Yogyakarta the academic year 2016/2017.  These research subjects are students of class VII A of SMP Muhammadiyah 5 Yogyakarta in 2016/2017. This research's object is the mathematics learning process using cooperative learning model type CRH. The subject of plane figures: quadrilaterals on students class VII A of SMP Muhammadiyah 5 Yogyakarta. The techniques of data collection are observation and interview. The data are analyzed by qualitative descriptive analysis. This research is included in class action research consists of two cycles.  The result of this research showed that cooperative learning model type CRH could increase students' learning activities in the mathematics of class VII A in SMP Muhammadiyah 5 Yogyakarta academic year 2016/2017. It can be seen from the result of the observation sheet about students' learning activities in each cycle, which is the percentage of students’ learning activities in mathematics in cycle I is 45,63% with the criteria of enough and in cycle II was increased to 69,22% with the criteria of good. Moreover, each cycle's test result also increased, which can be seen from the test result in cycle I, which has 79,36, and in cycle II the mean was increased to 88,93.Â
