Abstract

Human capital is a valuable asset of any company, especially for competent human resources and contributes both to the company. The performance evaluation given to employees annually can be defined and standardized by the company. However, the question is how big the contribution of human resources to sales and profit contribution is. Case studies take data from one branch of a general insurance company in Indonesia, Jakarta branch. Measurement is done by taking samples of data from 2007, 2008, and 2009. The study measures the risk of several components: (i) Human Capital Revenue Factor, (ii) Human Economic Value Added, (iii) Human Capital Cost Factor, (iv) Human Capital Value Added, and (v) Human Capital Return on Investment. Results of research can provide guidelines for the management, especially for management of JLI in view of Human Capital contribution to corporate objectives, namely in terms of staffing and agency.

Abstract

This study wants to know and understand whether good governance principles have been well applied as well as the factors influencing optimization of the implementation of good governance principles on the academic field in an effort to realize good university governance in Bina Nusantara University. The study aims to evaluate the implementation of good governance principles on the academic field, know the factors that affect the implementation of good governance principles on the academic field, and improve and develop the academic areas in accordance with good governance principles in order to maximize the role of Bina Nusantara University as Good University Governance. The approach model used to understand the implementation of good governance principles was a model to educational institution using the 8 principles, namely academic freedom, shared governance, clear rights and responsibilities, selection at merit, financial stability, accountability, regular testing of standards, and the importance of close cooperation. Research used qualitative method with descriptive analysis, by analyzing the factors influencing optimization of the implementation of good governance principles, particularly on academic areas. The results achieved there were 18 factors that affect the optimization of the implementation of good governance principles. Then the factors affected the optimization ofthe implementation of good governance principles the most are operational centralization and academic decentralization which were the novelty of this study.

Abstract

This research has an aim to discover an understand the influence of Goal Orientation and Work Motivation against Work Role Innovation through Self-leadership at PT. Surya Citra Televisi. PT. Surya Citra Televisi engaged in TV broadcasting sector. To see the influence of Goal Orientation and Work Motivation against Work Role Innovation through Self-leadership, this research use a quantitative approach where questionaire used to collect data from a total of 150 employees correspondent and the research method used is path analysis. This analysis is used to determine how much influence of variables Goal Orientation and Work Motivation to Work Role Innovation through Self-leadership at PT. Surya Citra Televisi. The result found in this research is Goal Orientation does influence significantly to Work Role Innovation at PT. Surya Citra Televisi. Work Motivation does influence significantly to Work Role Innovation at PT. Surya Citra Televisi. The indirect influence of Goal Orientation and Work Motivation through Self-leadership against Work Role Innovation is weak while Self-leadership shows strong influence if it acts as an independent variable. Bacause of that, Selfleadership will be more accurate if it acts as an independent variable along with Goal Orientation and Work Motivation.

Abstract

Crude palm oil (CPO) is one commodity that could be consumed and also as one alternative of non- fossil fuel: biodiesel. Since 2006, CPO commodity trade has its significant raise, followed by forward contract trade. The increasing of CPO price in 2006 is the lowest in historic analysis data period 2007-2008. Cyclic forecasting model is used following cycle pattern of twice-a-year, with a combination of Solver function in Ms. Excel that could minimize MSE as 161,02, Beta 0,0688 and intercept in -11,0396. Cyclic forecasting period is supposed to be used along with technical analysis, using stop loss to reduce risk. It needs additional research to adjust confidence level so VaR value is not too high that could fix trading strategy along this research.

Abstract

The primary objectives of this research is to learn correlation and effecting among CR, DER, and DPR with PER neither partial nor simultaneous. Data secondary collected by industrial random sampling groups listed at IDX and the journal preceding research persons. The results of the research describe that CR and DER have not any effecting significant, negative medium correlation for CR, and negative high correlation to PER, and DPR have effecting significant, positive low correlation to PER. But CR, DER, and DPR have the effecting significant simultaneous to PER. Recommended that the topic of this research can be continued with merchandising company groups, or service company groups either general or special service company groups likely banking, hotel, or insurance, or added with new independence variables.

Abstract

PT Prima Graphia Digital is a company engaged in the area of digital printing, locates at Kalibaru Timur Street IV No 5-7, Senen, Central Jakarta, Indonesia, 10460. The purpose of this research is to analyze the effect of job involvement and work satisfaction towards Organizational Citizenship Behavior in PT. Prima Graphia Digital. Research used associative method. Data used were primary and secondary data obtained through observation, interview and questionnaire distribution to 86 staffs of the company as respondents. After obtaining the data, then data were processed using Pearson correlation, simple and multiple regression. Results showed that job involvement has positive effect and is significant towards Organizational Citizenship Behavior. Similarly, work satisfaction does also have a positive effect and is significant towards Organizational Citizenship Behavior. Furthermore, job involvement and work satisfaction simultaneously have a significant effect towards Organizational Citizenship Behavior.

Abstract

The Tangguh Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Project is a planned natural gas development project located in the remote area of Berau-Bintuni Bay in Papua Province, Indonesia. British Petroleum (BP) Tangguh project aims tobe the pioneer in producing natural gas. It can be concluded that BP contributes an innovative approach, bearing in mind to sustainable development, cultural preservation and biodiversity conservation. Therefore, in each of its corporate actions, BP always integrates the value of community, partnership, consultation and corporate responsibility. It is mentioned that through experience and observation, BP as an extractive company, haveestimated the costs of not finding a better mechanism to adjust to social challenges can be higher than the costs of the uncertainties inherent in the trial of new ideas. However, according to international Non-GovernmentalOrganization (NGO), Down to Earth, BP has conducted a series of human rights violations by exploiting natural resources in Papua and restricting Papuans in enjoying their fundamental human rights. If only the BP keeps this Tangguh project in line with its aim to accommodate concerns from the affected surroundings, thus, will surely bring positive changes in BP’s corporate shared value.

Abstract

This research evaluated the technical efficiency of the banks before and after the merger. This research observed 15 banks which involve in merger activities. This research used the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) method with variables of returns to scale (VRS) and input orientation. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) was also applied to test the difference between the technical efficiency in pre- and post-merger activities. This research finds that only six banks are efficient after the merger. Furthermore, four banks have a better technical efficiency than before, andfive banks have lower technical efficiency after the merger.

Abstract

A word of CSR which stands for Corporate Social Responsibility is now becoming popular and more often many companies insert the CSR activities into its company profile. CSR has another different names such as Social Activity or Sustainability Development. CSR program according to wikipedia ia an organization or company has a responsibility to its customer, employees, share holders, community and environment in every aspect involved in company operasional. In the management science, there is a level whereas it is called social responsibility or it is just social obligation. Many opinions argues that CSR program will reduce the profit of the respected company. But many opinions denies the previous argue by saying the CSR program is a long term program profit gain since the short term result is good public image. The good public image will lead the loyalti of customer to keep using the product or service from the hotel. The customer loyalti also affected by the customer’s opinion, if they involves in the social activities held by the hotel, they also participate in a social activity.

Abstract

This descriptive and cross - sectional research was conducted to determine the priority criteria in supplier selection and the best supplier for Timber Industry as the unit of analysis. Data were collected through interview and questionnaire with the operational Manager of the company. The analysis method used was Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) that could assist decision making with criteria, sub-criteria, and several alternatives that had been determined by the company. The researchers find that there are four criteria which become the consideration in selecting supplier those are price, product, service, and delivery. From the analysis, it is foundthat the company should prioritize price compared to other criteria in selecting the supplier. Meanwhile, the other criteria (product, delivery, and service) sequentially become the second, third, and fourth priority criteria in selecting the suppliers. The other result of this research is the company can find the order of the best suppliers which can be recommended to the company.
