Abstract

One of the causes that classroom-based assessment has not been applied in Senior High School nowadays because most of chemistry teachers have difficulties to develop the desired assessment as needed at the educational unit level curriculum. To solve this problem, a research was done to develop classroom-based assessment tool that is valid, practical, and effective for chemistry learning material in stoichiometry on Senior High School. The research method used was a development research. Research activities were conducted three years consisting of three stages, namely front-back analysis,prototyping, and implementation. Date were collected throught classroom observations, interviews with students, teachers, chemistry education expert,student work analysis, and achievement test. The result of first year showed that classroom-based assessment tool developed showed the validity criteria in term of its content and construction. The implementation conducted in the second year in SMAN 1 Pekanbaru, SMA Babussalam, and SMAN 2 Siak Hulu. The implementation result also showed the practical criteria, meaning that students and teachers can use it without significant constaint.

Abstract

The research aims to develop devices integrated learning Malay culture in the form of RPP, LKPD and evaluation tools to improve character education learners. This type of research is the development of research (research and the development) with the procedural model. Research has been conducted in the development of chemistry teaching lab FKIP Riau University from June to November 2016. The prototype learning device generated through research is Learning Implementation Plan (RPP) consisting of 4x meeting, Activity Sheet Students (LKPD) for 4x meetings and 1 set of tools evaluation. Product prototype learning device has been evaluated by 3 validator. Data collected through questionnaires and observation techniques. The data analysis technique is a descriptive quantitative by calculating the percentage of the value of the validation. The average score ratings seventh aspect of the RPP is 95.95% with a valid category. The average score of the four aspects of the feasibility assessment LKPD is 95.95% with a valid category. The average score of all fifth aspects of the feasibility assessment evaluation tool was 94.58% with a valid category. While the percentage of learners response to LKPD is 97.36% which is at the criteria very well.

Abstract

Purpose of this study was to know student’s perception about preparation and implementation of lectures Mathematics and Science Teacher Education Featured at Chemistry Department of Education Faculty Riau University. The research carried out on students of Chemistry Department, the population was all students who follow the Mathematics and Science Teacher Education Featured program, and have followed courses presented for the program. The whole population was used as a sample (total sample), amounting to 60 students, consisting of a student of 2011/2012, 2012/2013 and 2013/2014 classes (18, 20 and 22 students). Data have been collected using a questionnaire, and then analyzed descriptively, begins with a questionnaire scoring in stages, specify the interval value to obtain a value category, and specify the percentage. The results showed that 81, 66% of students had a good understanding of the program that followed, 16.67% adequate, and 1.67% less understood. 86.67% of students felt that the program was beneficial, 8:33% felt pretty, and 5% of students felt less useful. In terms of feasibility program, 73.34% of students stated good, 15% said enough, and 11.66% said less well, while from the commitment and ability of lecturers 53.35% of the students stated well, 35% fairly categories, and 11, 67% said less.

Abstract

This study was conducted in an effort to improve learning outcomes and learning motivation. The population in this study were students of Chemistry Education, University of Riau. The Samples of this research is fifth semester students. Class experiments using problem-based e-learning model, while the control class using classical learning. To test research hypothesis on difference learning motivation and improved learning outcomes using independent sample T-test SPSS-20. To Test research hypothesis on Correlations between students motivation in learning and learning outcomes using Correlations SPSS-20. The result showed that : 1) there was a significant difference in motivation and learning outcomes of students who are taught using a problem-based e-learning model, than students who are taught using classical learning; 2) there was no correlation learning motivation and learning outcomes of students who are taught by classical learning; 3) there was correlation between motivation to learn the results of student learning is taught by Problem-Based E-Learning Model.

Abstract

This study is an action research (classroom action research) that uses two-cycle. The aim of this research is to improve the learning activities of students in chemical bonding topic in class X MIA 10 Senior High School (SMA) 8 Pekanbaru by using media Puzzle Games. Descriptive analysis is run for analyzing data. The instrument of this study using observation sheet activity. In the first cycle, the average percentage of students learning activity by 80% in both categories, a further meeting activity by 85% with very good category, the third meeting of 86.5% with very good category while the fourth meeting amoun ted to 89.40% with very good category. At the first meeting the activities of teachers percentage of 90.27% with a very good category, the second meeting amounted to 91.67% (excellent), the third meeting amounted to 93.05% (excellent), the fourth meeting amounted to 95.83% (excellent). The first cycle test results obtained an average of 84.05 while classical final test results of the second cycle of 95.83. Based on the analysis results there was an increase in the study of students from the first cycle to the second cycle. As for mastery learning of individual students, the first cycle refers to the Department of Education standards are 94.4% of students who completed school KKM standards while 88.8% of students who completed. In the second cycle by the Department of Education standards, completeness learners achieve 100% (complete), while for the standard 94.4% KKM school (complete). Thus, the results of studying chemistry in subject of chemical bonding can be improved students activities and achievement by using instructional media puzzle games.

Abstract

The research about the CORE (Connecting, Organizing, Reflecting and Extending) model has been conducted in SMAN 4 Pekanbaru. The purpose of this research is to detemine wheterthe application of CORE learning can improve achievement and the influence of application of CORE learning model in class XI IPA SMAN 4 Pekanbaru on the subject solubility aquilibrium (Ksp). The type of this research is experimental research with experiment design randomized control group pretest-posttest. Sample of the research consisted of two classes, a class XI IPA 5 as an experimental class (implemented the CORE learning model) and class XI IPA 1 as the control class (without the CORE learning model). Test tecniques used as a tecnique in collecting research dats. T-test and coefficient determinasi was used as analysis technique. Based on the data analysis obtained t > t table is 5,71 > 1,66, meaning that the application of the CORE learning model can improve the student achievement on the subject solubility aquilibrium (Ksp) in class XI IPA SMA Negeri 4 Pekanbaru with the great influence of implementation of the CORE learning model on improving learning achievement is 31,178%.

Abstract

The aim of this research were to know misconceptions and the category level of misconceptions in the second year students of SMA Negeri 2 Pekanbaru aboutt concepts of chemical equallibrium. This research took place in SMA Negeri 2 Pekanbaru and the data were collected on April 2017. was all the students of XI MIA class of four classes. The population consisted of 161 students. The sample was all the population. This research was descriptive quantitative. The technique of collecting data used diagnostic test and interview. The result showed that students found misconception in the definition concept of chemical equallibrium with the percentage was 34,78% (category of average), for the concept of heterogen and homogen was 36,335% (average), the concept of dissociation degree was 33,54% (average), the concept of Kc measurement was 43,785% (average), the concept of Kp measurement was 27,55% (poor), the principle concept of Le Chatelier was 36,764% (average), the concept of using chemical equallibrium in world industry was 23,60% (poor).

Abstract

The aim of this research is to know the effect of CORE (Connecting, Organizing, Reflecting and Extending) learning models to students concept understanding of atomic strukture. This research is quasi experimental research with a nonequivalent control group. The population in the research is class X SMA Negeri 1 Kampar Timur. The samples in the research was X MIPA 2 as an experimental class and class X MIPA 5 as a control class which was determined randomly. The experimental class was treated with the implementation of CORE learning model while the control class with a scientific approach. Data was collected using essay test instruments. The data obtained from test were analyzed descriptively and statistically by the test-t right side. The results of data analysis obtained tcount = 5,63 and ttable = 1,66 with α = 0,05, dk = 74. Tcount > ttable is 5,63 > 1,66 meaning that the implementation of CORE learning model can improve students concept understanding on the subject of atomic structure in the class X MIPA SMA Negeri 1 Kampar Timur. Criteria students concept understanding in the experimental class with an average N-gain of 0,80 while the average N-gain in the control class is 0,69.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the activities of students during the learning process using the ADI model and analyze the ability of students to complete the ADI-based LKS on the concept of hydrolyzed salt. The method used in this research is class research with the design of one shoot case study. The subjects of this study were students of class XI IPA 4 in one of the 16 SMA Negeri Bandung, amounting to 37 people. The research instruments used were observation sheets, worksheets, and practicum report assessment rubrics. The results showed that student activity during learning using the ADI model reached an average of 91% and was categorized very well. The results of the research on the completion of ADI-based LKS reached an average of 73 and were categorized well, with the highest average value at the stage of revising the report, which was82. The results were obtained due to the existence of inquiry activities during the practicum and argumentation activities. Thus the ADI learning model can improve student activity and students' ability to complete ADI-based LKS on the concept of hydrolyzed salt.

Abstract

The development of interactive learning media based on Autoplay Media Studio 8.5 is aimed to get valid interactive learning from the terms of content substance, display (visual comunication), instructional design and courseware utilization. The research method was used four-D models which consist of four stages, those are define, design, develop and desseminate. The research is up to the development stage. The data collected technique used validation sheet, questionnaire responses of students and teacher. The result showed an average score of content substance aspects, display (visual comunication) aspects, instructional design aspect and courseware utilization aspects was 91,4%. Learning media also fulfill the practical criteria based on the responses of students and teacher with a score 95,5% and 77,5%. The conclusion show the learning media based on Autoplay Media Studio 8.5 valid and can be use in learning process.
