Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to describe a potential way of integrating the knowledge of electrochemistry with a story in the Al-Quran particularly in the sura of Al-Kahfi, verse 83-96. The story tells about an implicit understanding of the concept of electro chemistry. Having the story in the learning of electrochemistry is aimed to internalizing the spirit of Islam in the learning of electro chemistry. Using a classroom action research, this study involved 95 students who are taking the course of Basic Chemistry 2. This study used three instruments, namely: observation sheet of students activity, observation sheet of students attitute, and self-assessment questionnaire. Based on the data, the study found that students were considerably active in each stage of the learning process with the average of activitiy is 78% (good). With regards to attitude, only aspect of responsibility that was not well appeared while the aspects of religious curiosity, cooperative, and communication relatively presented

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the activities of students during the learning process using the ADI model and analyze the ability of students to complete the ADI-based LKS on the concept of hydrolyzed salt. The method used in this research is class research with the design of one shoot case study. The subjects of this study were students of class XI IPA 4 in one of the 16 SMA Negeri Bandung, amounting to 37 people. The research instruments used were observation sheets, worksheets, and practicum report assessment rubrics. The results showed that student activity during learning using the ADI model reached an average of 91% and was categorized very well. The results of the research on the completion of ADI-based LKS reached an average of 73 and were categorized well, with the highest average value at the stage of revising the report, which was82. The results were obtained due to the existence of inquiry activities during the practicum and argumentation activities. Thus the ADI learning model can improve student activity and students' ability to complete ADI-based LKS on the concept of hydrolyzed salt.

Abstract

Abstract

This research aimed to produce chempoints learning media oriented to chemical literacy on acid-base material and to determine the validation of the game’s effectiveness as a media for learning chemistry on acid-base material. Chempoints is an educational game adapted from a scrabble game with modifying the appearance and rules of the game by linking the material studied. Making media with Design Based Research included the stages of analysis, design and development. Product validation assessments were obtained from chemist and multimedia experts validators. The data collection technique used a questionnaire with a Likert scale. The data analysis technique used descriptive statistical analysis. The results showed that for all items and aspects measured, the validity assessment of chemical literacy oriented chempoints learning media on acid-base material obtained valid and good criteria with an average value of rcount of 0.86. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the chempoints learning media oriented to chemical literacy is suitable for use in learning chemistry on the acid-base material.

Abstract

Sudoku Puzzles is one of the educational game learning media which has advantages, one of which is being able to develop ways of reasoning, thinking correctly according to logic. One of the chemical concepts that requires this medium is the Periodic System of the Elements material. This study aims to analyze the validation test of Sudoku Puzzles learning media products on the Elements Periodic System material and describe the appearance of Sudoku Puzzles learning media products on the Elements Periodic System material. The stages of this research use the Design Base Research (DBR) method to develop Sudoku Puzzles learning media on the Elementary Periodic System material as a learning process that can challenge students through a game. This research procedure uses the ADDIE model consisting of several stages including Analysis, Design, and Development. Based on theinstruments used, namely flowcharts and storyboards, the Sudoku Puzzles learning media was made, then validation tests were carried out on three validators, namely media experts, learning experts and content experts. The validation result data shows a value of 0.89, thus the Sudoku Puzzles learning media is declared valid and can be used as a tool in the learning process of the Elements Periodic System material.
