Abstract

Based on pre-research in class III SDN Cangkiran 01 it was found that there were no suitable learning media and learning models. So it was been an impact on the low learning outcomes to understand the suggestion sentence. This study aims to develop learning media, assess the feasibility and effectiveness of ritatoon media using POE model class III SDN Cangkiran 01. The method which had been used in this research was Sugiyono Research and Development (RD) which consists of potential and problem stages, data collection, product design, design validation, design revisions, product trials, product revisions, and usage trials. The subjects of this study were grade III students at SDN Cangkiran 01. Data collection techniques used observation, interviews, documentation, questionnaires, and tests. Data analysis techniques were using product feasibility, initial and final data analysis (t-test and N-gain test). The results of the ritatoon media feasibility test that is from media experts get a percentage of 93% and the assessment of material experts get a percentage of 93%. Ritatoon media effectively used in accordance with the results of the t-test showed t arithmetic t table (12,741 2,021), then Ho was rejected and the pretest and posttest gain the result which was 0.62 with criteria that support the effectiveness of instructional media . The results of the questionnaire responses of teachers and students showed a very positive answer that makes learning media was more effective in its users.

Abstract

Based on the result of 2015 PISA (Programme for International Students Assessment) in term of science, Indonesia ranked 64th from 72 countries. Meanwhile based on the result of TIMSS (Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study), Indonesian ranked 45th from 48 countries. Those results showed that Indonesia still have low quality in science. This problem also happened in SDN Kesongo 01. It was known that students had low science learning outcome because learning material had not yet developed. In order to solve this problem, researcher developed an innovative learning material based on local wisdom. This research aimed to know the feasibility, students and teacher responses, and the effectiveness of 4th grade Primary School Science learning material based on local wisdom. This research was research and development (RD). Main subject of this research was students of class IV SDN Kesongo 01. Data analysis were percentage descriptive statistic, normality test, t-test and gain test. The results showed that 4th grade primary school science learning material based on local wisdom was developed by integrating the lesson material with the contents of local wisdom, feasible to be used, and effectively improved student learning outcome with moderate criteria. Showed by the result of gain test 0,6 and t test 0.00. The conclusions of this research were 4th grade primary school science learning material based on local wisdom was very feasible, obtained very positive responses, and effectively improved student learning outcome. Suggestion from this research was 4th grade primary school science learning material based on local wisdom can be used as an alternative learning material in science lesson in the accordance with the guideline.

Abstract

Based to the result, the observation and interview the low quality of education in Indonesia was caused by students' learning outcomes in some subjects were classified as low. This was supported by the data on social studies learning outcomes in the 5th grade students of elementary school of Kartini Cluster, Banjarnegara Regency, that were quite low. One of the reason was the teachers had not applied the appropriate learning model in accordance with educational regulations. The teachers used a teacher-centered learning model. The purpose of this study was to test the effectiveness of the Structured Numbered Heads model to result of social studies learning outcomes of 5th grade students of elementary school of Kartini Cluster, Banjarnegara Regency. This research used quantitative method with experiment design and nonequivalent control group design. The sample technique was cluster random sampling of 97 participantes. Data collection used test, observation and documentation. Hypothesis test result showed that tcount˃ttabel (5,8883 2,0003) which mean structured numbered heads model is was more effective to result of social studies learning outcomes of 5th grade students. The experiment class n-gain test result 0,4611 belong to medium criteria while control class n-gaint test result 0.481 belong to low criteria. Abstract

This research is based on Indonesian language learning that has not been effective yet, so the result of learned is not optimal yet, to overcome this problem, the researcher developed crossword puzzle game. This development research aims to produce crossword puzzle products as well as know the feasibility and effectiveness of the product. This research used Research and Developement method developed by Borg and Gall. The subjects of this study are the students of class V which amounted to 34 students. Data analysis techniques used descriptive percentage and n-gain test. The results showed that the media of crossword puzzles is very feasible to use with the percentage of assessment 89.58%, material expert judgments of 88, 63%. The result of N-gain analysis showed that the value obtained is 0.5226 in the medium category and the response is very good. Based on the result of the research, the crossword puzzle game to summarize the developed explanation text is declared eligible and effective in improving the writing skill of the students' explanatory text.

Abstract

This study focused on the problems in teaching tenses to Primary School Teacher Education Department (PGSD), Faculty of Education, Semarang State University (UNNES). There were some of the problematic and confusing tenses such assimple tense and present perfect tense, present continuous and present simple, past simple and past continuous tense. This research used qualitative approach. It was conducted in PGSD Department, Faculty of Education, Semarang StateUniversity in 2015 by involving 120 students as the samples. The researcher used questionnaire, interview sheet, and test items as the instruments. The data were analyzed by using descriptive method. Besides that teaching grammar had been handled throughout this study with the data obtained from the written exams of the learners. Most frequently occurred errors were listed and they were analyzed in details. The findings revealed that the reasons for these errors mostly derived from mother tongue interference and lacked of adequate linguistic background. The other component of this article was to offer remedial teaching activities for foreign language learners to compensate the shortcomings.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the results of Indonesian language lesson in some students who did not reach the Minimum Score Criteria because of limited teaching materials and learning media. This study was research and development (RD). This study aimed to develop comic media on powerpoint, to assess the feasibility, and the effectiveness of the media on the theme earth and universe of Indonesian language. the data was collected by observasion, interviews, questionsnaires, tests, and documentation. The subject of this research was the three grade students of Karangayu 03 elementary school. The result showed that: (1) comic media on powerpoint successfully developed according to the needs of teachers and students; (2) comic media on powerpoint was very feasible to be used with the percentage of assessment from material experts amounting to 94% and from media experts at 88% .; (3) comic media on powerpoint was effective used Indonesian language learning as evidenced by an increase in the average student learning outcomes through the t test of 16,733 and the average incrase of 0.6 with medium criteria. In conclusion, the comic media on powerpoint was very feasible and effective for helping the students to learn about Indonesian language.

Abstract

This study at develop instructional media, test the viability and effectiveness of adobe animate cc based interactiveflipbook media on the force and motion topic for the 4th students at Mranggen 4 Elementary School. The method usedResearch and Development (RD). The results showed that interactive media of adobe animate cc based flipbooks canbe used in learning based on the content expert's assessment with a percentage of 75% in the viable category and 78.12%by media expert in the very viable category. The pretest and posttest learning outcomes calculated using N-Gain increasedby 0.4520 in the moderate category. Abstract

Social studies learning outcomes for some students have not yet reached the KKM (Minimum Score Criteria), this is influenced by the limited teaching materials and the use of less optimal learning media. This research was a type of development research. This study was aimed to develop flipbook teaching materials, to test the feasibility of flipbook, test materials and the effectiveness of flipbook as teaching materials.The subject of this research was the fourth grade students of SDN Kandri 01 Semarang city, Central Java. In this study, researchers used saturated sample technique with a total of 42 students. The Data was collected by observation techniques, interviews, questionnaires, tests and documentation. Researchers processed data using product data analysis, early data analysis, t test, and gain test. The results showed that the flipbook material was very feasible to use with the percentage expert material assessment of 87.5%, media experts of 87.5% and linguists 75%. Based on learning outcomes there was an average difference through the t test of 7,113 and the average increase of 0,349 with medium criterion. As conclusion, the flipbook teaching materials was very feasible and effective for helping the student to learn about IPS Subject

Abstract

This study was conducted based on the problem found in the teaching and learning process of civic education subject that has not used various learning model yet. In fact, this phenomenon caused the low achievement of students in this subject. Further, this study was intended to develop an edutainment-based probing-prompting learning model for teaching civic education subject. For more, the research and development design was employed to purse this objective. Meanwhile, the data collection techniques used were questionnaire, observation, interview, tests, and documentation. Accordingly, the result showed that: (1) the learning model was developed regarding learning model components as well as teachers and students' needs; (2) the material experts gave 85% score (feasible), while the experts of learning model gave 81.25% score (feasible); (3) there found cognitive learning achievement average with t-test value as many as -6.298 and also improvement of 0.48 with fair criterion. The developed model also gave effective result on the affective and psychomotor learning achievement with the averages of 88.49 and 91.27. Therefore, this study concludes that the edutainment-based probing-prompting learning model is feasible and effective for teaching civic education subject. Also, this study suggests that this product is used by teachers to improve students' learning achievement.

Abstract

This study aims to describe school literacy activities to develop reading habits for third grade students of SD NegeriDiponegoro. This study used descriptive qualitative method. The methods of data collection using interviews,documentation, and field notes. Then the data is tested using credibility and confirmability tests. The results of this studyindicate that: (1) school literacy activities at the habituation stage are proven by providing facilities and infrastructure tosupport, creating an environment which is rich of text, the role of teachers and implementing 15 minutes of readingactivities regularly and can repeatedly build students' reading habits. (2) The supporting factors of school literacyactivities are facilities and infrastructure, allocation of funds and time, also the role of teachers. a, the inhibiting factorsare the students low reading interest, incomplete facilities and infrastructure, also the teachers are not optimal in schoolliteracy activities. (3) The roles of teacher in school literacy activities are to direct activities and help students in choosinga book. (4) The ways to build students' reading habits through school literacy activities, they are providing various typesof books which are students like, increasing students' interest in reading books, motivating students' and forming anenvironment that supports reading habits. The conclusion of this study is that school literacy activities can build students'reading habits through 15 minutes of reading regularly and repeatedly supported by facilities and infrastructure, theenvironment and the role of the teacher.Keywords: school literacy activities; reading habit
