The purpose of this study was to determine the improvement of students' pronunciation skills (Supra-segmental) in English using the ELSA Speak application and to determine student perceptions of the use of the ELSA Speak application. The location of this research is at the University of West Sulawesi. The approach used in this research is quantitative. The methodology used in this study is the One Group Pre-experimental design. The population in this study was class D class 2021 majoring in English at the University of West Sulawesi. The sampling method used in this study is a simple random sampling method. The research sample used was 20 people. The research data was collected through a pronunciation test given to students using pre-test and post-test as well as distributing perception questionnaires to students. The data in this studywere analyzed using non-parametric analysis in the form of a T-test through SPSS. The students' pre-test means the score is 52.30 while the post-test mean score is 65.60. while the results of the T-test showed that sig. (2-tailed = 0.000) <0.05. That means the ELSA Speak application can significantly improve students' pronunciation skills in English. The results of the perception questionnaire are 82% which is included in the good category. This means that students respond well to the use of the ELSA Speak application.

This research aims at finding out the efficacy of using round table technique in teaching writing especially descriptive text to Indonesian English as Foreign Language (EFL) students. The main question of this research: Is the use of Round Table technique effective in teaching conditional sentences to Indonesian EFL students?. The research can be an addition to the persisting teaching writing in English particularly the descriptive text through the use of Round Table technique.  This research was conducted at First semester students of the English Study Program of Nusa Cendana University, Kupang. The population of this research was First semester students of the English Study Program of Nusa Cendana University, Kupang.  The research used a pre-experimental method with a pre-test and post-test design. The pre-test was given to find out the basic ability of the students in mastering writing descriptive text and the post-test given to find out the students’ improvement in mastering writing descriptive text after giving the treatment by using round table technique. The findings show that using round table technique is effective in teaching writing descriptive text to Indonesian EFL students. It is supported by the result of the significance test through SPSS 20 program that the P was 0.00. Therefore, it is recommended to use the round table technique in developing students’ writing descriptive of Indonesian EFL students.

This research aims at finding out the efficacy of using Digital Comics in teaching reading to senior high school students. The main question of this research: Is the use of Digital Comics effective in teaching reading to senior high school students? The research can be an addition to the persisting teaching reading of English particularly the use of the Digital Comics. This research was conducted at the tenth-grade students at SMA Kristen Mercusuar Kupang, an Indonesian senior High School. The total number of samples was 25 students. The research used a pre-experimental method with a pre-test and post-test design. The pre-test was given to find out the basic ability of the students in reading and the post-test given to find out the students’ improvement in reading after giving the treatment by using Digital Comics as media. The findings show that using the digital comics as media is effective in teaching reading to senior high school students. It is supported by the result of the significance test through SPSS 20 program that the P was 0.00. Therefore, it is recommended to use the digital comics in developing students’ competence in reading class of senior high school students.

This article aimed at finding out reasons of code switching by the elite people. The data were obtained through questionnaire. The population was the elite people in Makassar who were divided into five groups namely doctors, government officials, lawyers, lecturers, and politicians living in Makassar. There were 100 conversation produced by 25 respondents. Those 25 respondents were asked to complete a questionnaire about their reason in codeswitching. The analysis of data in this research was carried out through the following the procedures: (1) The data were classified based on the criteria of reason (2)Â The discourse of code switching reasons was tabulated (3) The reasons of code switching were described. The result show that in term of the reasons of code switching, it is found three reasons; practicality of English, good ability of English, and lack of Indonesian expressions

Effect of Duo Lingo application to improve speaking ability. Duo Lingo to enhance student speaking ability. There are several problems with speech fluency This study is intended to find out the effectiveness of the Duolingo application on students’ perception to improve their speaking skills. Thus, this study used a qualitative approach, especially using an ethnomethodology research design. Firstly, this study used a qualitative approach because the researcher is intended to reach the data from interviews students’ procedures for creating and managing a sense of objective reality. This study is involved 27 students of grade IX from one class. Almost all students know the application of Duolingo,The result of the questionnaire indicates that 10 Neutral, 15 Agree, 2 Strongly agree that Duolingo as media improves English skills. It indicates that most of the learners agree that Duolingo is a media to improve English skills. As a result, teachers should be encouraged to use this app in language instruction and learning. Furthermore, teachers must ensure that this application is capable of being used efficiently. Another significant factor to consider is the use of cell phones in the classroom because some schools restrict mobile phone use while the classroom.

This study aims at investigating the correlation between professional development programs and teachers’ self-efficacy. The professional development program is one of the ways that is believed can enhance teachers’ self-efficacy which is directly related to teaching skills and practice in the classroom. The data that is related to Professional Development Programs and teachers’ self-efficacy was obtained using PDP and TSES questionnaires. Thirty English teachers from Blangkejeren district were involved. The data then were analyzed by using Product Moment Correlation to obtain the correlation between the variables and the degree of the correlation. The findings indicated that a professional development program correlated positively with teachers’ self-efficacy (p-value= 0,380 < 0,05). Furthermore, the degree of the correlation is 0, 381 which indicated a weak correlation but positive. The findings implied that Professional Development Program is not the only element that might impact teachers' sense of efficacy. The implication of the result of the professional development program and teachers’ self-efficacy was discussed.

The goal of this study is to expand on the use of experiential learning in students' reading comprehension. The method used in this study is called a "pre experiment." Pre-test, treatment, and post-test are all included in it. The purpose of the initial pretest was to learn more about the audience before they read. Treatment is the implementation of the experiential learning theory in the learning to learn program, which is done roughly three times. The purpose of the final posttest is to understand how students learn after being instructed using the experiential learning theory. Matriculants in the second semester of the STKIP Kie Raha Ternate English language program for the academic year 2020–2021 make up the majority of this study. Population: 172 students. The research was applied purposive sampling technique. It is meant that the researchers choose one class which consists of 30 students. The result can be reported that the students’ achievement in reading in pretest was classified as poor (X1 = 5,3) and the students’ achievement in reading posttest was classified as good score were (X2 = 7.83 ). For the level of significance (P) = 0,05 and degree of freedom (df) = N – 1 (29), then the value of t-table (25.3 > 2.045). It means that, there was significant difference between the pretest and posttest score of the students’ reading comprehension by Experiential learning theory. In other words, the Null hypothesis (HO) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (H1) is accepted. From the analysis above, the researchers concluded that there was significance different between the score that got by students in pretest and posttest in learning reading comprehension by Experiential learning theory.

WhatsApp is one of the most popular application used by students and lecturers. WhatsApp application gives convenience in interacting and communicating. This research aimed at determining the use of WhatsApp as a medium of communication between lecturers and students in supporting English learning activities at Islamic Education Study Program. The research method applied is quantitative research. The data source is 60 students from IAIN Palopo. This research used the Google form media in survey. The results show that most of the students felt that it was easier for them to communicate and support learning activities compared to other online media. Furthermore, more than 80% of students stated that the application of WhatsApp had a positive impact on their learning activities and supported the improvement of their communication with lecturers. So, WhatsApp is one of the media that has advantages including facilitating communication and supporting learning activities. The ease in using WhatsApp makes students feel helped by this application and becomes one of the important and preferred means of communication for studentsÂ

This study aimed at determining the perceptions of English Language Education students of Politeknik Negeri Ujung Pandang on English Learning class via Zoom during the Covid-19 pandemic. The qualitative descriptive method was carried out by distributing questionnaires using Google Form to 45 English online classrooms students at Politeknik Negeri Ujung Pandang after completing the learning process for 3 months. The results of this study show that (1) the use of Zoom application provides new experiences in online learning activities, (2) students can easily operate some of the Zoom application features, (3) the learning process expects students to use the Zoom application, (4) the Zoom application is one of the e-learning tools that can support online learning activities continuously, (5) the use of Zoom application because the classmates agree to use the Zoom application, and (6) students can use the Zoom application easily in carrying out of online learning activities.

This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted at SDN 104 Wiwitan which aims to improve students' reading literacy of class V in Indonesian learning through the REAP learning method. The sample of this research is 30 students in academic year 2021/2022. The instruments used to get the data are observation and test. Data analysis used quantitative and qualitative descriptive statistics. The result of this research showed that the average value of students in the first cycle was 51% with a classical learning percentage of 13%, and in the second cycle the average value obtained by students was 85% with a percentage of 93%. Judging from these data, it can be concluded that there is an enhancement in students' reading literacy in Indonesian learning after they being taught using REAP (Read, Encode, Annotae, Ponder) method, where from cycle I to cycle II it increased by 34%.
