Abstract

This study examines the relationship between self-concept and mathematics anxiety towards the freshmen learning results. The method used is the correlation method which was aimed to see how strong and how much influence of self-concept and mathematics anxiety with students’ learning results. The population in this study were all students of mathematics education academic year 2013/2014, the study sample was taken by purposive sampling technique as many as 88 students who took the Calculus I course. The instrument used in this research is scale mathematical self-concept and mathematics anxiety scale. The results showed that there is a positive relationship between self-concept and anxiety towards math-ematics learning outcomes of students. Research showed that there was a positive and sig-nificant relationship between self-concept and anxiety mathematical mathematics with stu-dent results.Keywords : Self Concept, Anxiety Mathematics Learning Outcomes

Abstract

In teaching English at school, the teacher must be able to find the best way in teaching the language skills especially Writing, so that the material given can be received well. This research used the quantitative analysis to find the effect of using pictures on student’s writing descriptive paragraph. In this thesis, the writer took 60 students as a sample of data. The populations were the second year of SMP Negeri 1 Tanah Jawa where the X-1 as the experimental group and X-2 as the control group. To collect the data, the writer applied writing test. It is an objective test. The validity of the instrument is found out by using the Coefficient ProductMoment Formula and the Formula of Spearman Brown to find out the reliability. The data were analyzed by using the t-Test. The finding indicates that pictures give an effect on student’s writing descriptive text. The research of the t-Test is 10,9. It means that the test is higher than the table (10,9>0,01). It can be said that there is an effect of pictureson student’s writing descriptive text. From the result of analysis, the writer concludes that : (1) The use of pictures give a positive effect in writing descriptive text, (2) The score of experimental group is higher than the score of control group, (3) The score of the t-observe calculation is higherthan t-table. So, the effect of using pictures on student’s writing descriptive text is accepted.Keywords : descriptive paragraph, standardized test, descriptive text

Abstract

This study was a classroom action research aimed to improve EFL tertiary students’ reading comprehension by using graphic organizer, one of teaching methods used universally to help learners to understand reading deeper, especially for retelling story outcome.The participants were 44 undergraduate students attending the researcher Reading II class. The improvement in this study was focused on the participants’ skills of determining main idea, identifying topic, summarizing, and enriching vocabulary. To check students’ comprehension, the researcher measured the students’ reading comprehension using open-ended questions in written form, interview, as well as rubrics which are presented in both quantitative and qualitative data. The results revealed that there was no significant improvement in the participants’ main idea identification and vocabulary enrichment skills. However, there was robustly significant improvement in their topic identification and summarizing skills.Keywords : graphic organizer, reading comprehension, main idea, topic, summarizing

Abstract

This study presents a research report on using simulation method to improve the activity and the students’ learning result improving students’ Learning results on PKn. The objective was to find out whether the activity and the students’ learning result improved when they are taught by using Video. It was conducted using classroom action research method. The subject of the study was the Grade IV students of SDN 187/IV Kota Jambi which is located on Jln. Adi Sucipto RT 05 Kecamatan Jambi Selatan, and the number of the students were 9 persons. The instruments used were test as quantitative data and observation, interview, and questionnaire were used as qualitative data. In analyzing the data, the mean of the students’ score for the on first cycle was 74.11 and the mean on cycle two was 78.00 and the mean of the third cycle was 84.7. Then it can be concluded that the use of simulation as a learning method can improve the students’ activity and students’ learning result. It is suggested that teachers should apply simulation method as a learning method to improve students’ activity and students’ learning result on PKn.Keywords : PKn, learning results, simulation method

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe purpose of this study to determine 1) the impact on the quality of the curriculumimplementation process of the preparation of the curriculum; Public confidence in thestudents graduation; and 2) the effect of the preparation process quality on theImplementation of SBC SBC. 3) the influence of public attitudes on the graduation ofthe students on the Implementation of the SBC and 4) the effect of public confidence inthe students graduation on the Implementation of the SBC. The research was conductedin the first semester of the year 2014/2015. Respondents consisted of 54 junior highschool teachers from several schools in Jakarta. Technique data collecting instrumentcomprising 30 questions using a questionnaire to measure three independent variables,and a questionnaire to measure the dependent variable. Data processing is a descriptivestudy and hypothesis testing using multiple regression analysis techniques. The results ofmultiple regression analysis showed that statistically (a) significant difference QualityProcess SBC, Public Attitudes toward Graduation UN, and Faith Communities toGraduation UN students, together, towards the implementation of SBC (F = 6.781; Sig.= 0.001); (B) there is a significant influence on the Quality Process Implementation SBCSBC (t = -2188; Sig. = 0.033).Keywords: Preparation of SBC, Attitudes, Beliefs society, UN.ABSTRAKTujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui 1) pengaruh Implementasi KTSP terhadapkualitas proses penyusunan KTSP; Kepercayaan masyarakat pada kelulusan siswa; dan2) pengaruh Kualitas proses penyusunan KTSP terhadap Implementasi KTSP. 3)pengaruh sikap masyarakat pada kelulusan siswa terhadap Implementasi KTSP dan 4)pengaruh kepercayaan masyarakat pada kelulusan siswa terhadap Implementasi KTSP.Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada semester ganjil tahun 2014/2015. Responden terdiridari 54 guru SMP dari beberapa sekolah di Jakarta. Teknik pengumpulan datainstrument yang terdiri 30 soal menggunakan tiga angket untuk mengukur variablebebas, dan satu angket untuk mengukur variable terikat. Pengolahan data penelitiandilakukan secara deskriptif dan pengujian hipotesis menggunakan teknik analisis regresiganda. Hasil analisis regresi ganda menunjukkan bahwa secara statistik (a) terdapatpengaruh yang signifikan Kualitas Proses Penyusunan KTSP, Sikap Masyarakatterhadap Kelulusan UN, dan Kepercayaan Masyarakat terhadap Kelulusan UN siswa,secara bersama-sama, terhadap Implementasi KTSP (F=6,781; Sig.=0,001); (b)terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan Kualitas Proses Penyusunan KTSP terhadapImplementasi KTSP (t=-2.188; Sig.= 0.033).Kata kunci: Penyusunan KTSP, Sikap masyarakat, Kepercayaan masyarakat, UN.

Abstract

This study presents a research report on improving students’ Learning results on IPA through Video. The objective was to find out whether students’ learning result improved when they are taught by using Video. It was conducted using classroom action research method. The subject of the study was the Grade IV students of SDN 187/IV Kota Jambi which is located on Jln. Adi Sucipto RT 05 Kecamatan Jambi Selatan, and the number of the students were 21 persons. The instruments used were test. In analyzing the data, the mean of the students’ score for the on fisrt sycle was 65,4 (42,85%) and the mean on cycle two was 68,5 (37,15%) and the mean of the third cycle was 81,4 (100%). Then it can be concluded that the use of video on learning IPA can improve the students’ learning result. It is suggested that teachers should use video as one of the media to improve students’ learning result on IPA.Keywords : IPA, students’ learning result, video

Abstract

ABSTRACTCurcuma xanthorrhiza Roxb have been long time used by human as medicine and spices. This article aims to explain the uses and biological activitie of Curcuma xanthorrhiza. This paper is based on literature offline and online media. Off line literatures based on handbooks, dissertations and thesis. Web, Scopus, Pubmed, Journal, and other online media to supplement used in this article. Curcuma xanthorrhiza have been used as medicine for various purposes such as ulcer, stomachache, malnutrtions, diabetes mellitus. Curcuma xanthorrhiza have bioactivites as anti-inflammatory, wound, cholesterol, anti carsinogenic, antioxidant, anti diabetic, antibacterial, antifungal, phytoestrogenic, and neuroprotective.Keywords: Curcuma xanthorrhiza, antimicrobaa, antioxidant, diabetes mellitus ABSTRAKCurcuma xanthorrhiza Roxb telah lama digunakan manusia sebagai obat maupun bumbu masak. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan menfaat dan bioaktivitas dari Curcuma xanthorrhiza. Penulisan artikel ini didasarkan atas kajian literatur online maupun offline. Data offline berupa buku, jurnal, tesis maupun tulisan ilmiah lainnya. Sumber online berupa Web, Scopus, Pubmed, Jurnal, dan artikel ilmiah lainnya. Curcuma xanthorrhiza digunakan sebagai obat untuk mengatasi penyakit ulcer, sakit perut, diabetes mellitus. Abstract

ABSTRACTThis paper analyzed the misuse of adverb repetition in words 再 zài and 又 yòu done by Second Year Student of Chinese Language Education Study at Christian University of Indonesia (UKI). Furthermore, this paper also shows the types of errors in using words 再 zài and 又 yòu and the factors that can trigger the misuse. This study use data from questionnaire that was voluntarily filled by fifteen participants of UKI college students.This study showed that the most common mistake often made by student were caused by the lack understanding of 再 zài and 又 yòu usage in a sentence. Most of the students have studied the usage of word 再 zài and 又 yòu but fail to implement it in a correct statement. As a result of this study, it is suggested for all second year students to be active in practicing adverb 再 zài and 又 yòu in a sentence. Moreover, every teacher is expected to help students in improving the use of adverb 再 zài and 又 yòu.Key Words: Chinese Language, Language Error, 再 zài and 又 yòu ABSTRAKTulisan ini membahas tentang kesalahan penggunaan kata keterangan pengulangan再zài dan又yòu dalam Bahasa Mandarin pada mahasiswa tingkat II prodi Pendidikan Bahasa Mandarin Universitas Kristen Indonesia. Selain itu dibahas juga jenis-jenis kesalahan penggunaan kata pengulangan再zài dan又yòu dan faktor-faktor yang menjadi penyebab terjadinya kesalahan. Dalam penelitian ini data dikumpulkan dari kuisioner yang telah diisi oleh 15 orang mahasiswa. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa kesalahan yang banyak terjadi adalah mahasiswa kurang memahami penggunaan kata又yòu. Faktor utama penyebab kesalahannya adalah mahasiswa yang bersangkutan sudah pernah belajar tetapi masih tidak memahami cara penggunaan kata keterangan再zài dan又yòu dengan baik. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini disarankan agar mahasiswa dibantu oleh pengajar untuk lebih meningkatkan pembelajaran tentang kata keterangan pengulangan再zài dan又 agar pemahaman mahasiswa bisa lebih baik.Kata Kunci: Bahasa Mandarin, Kesalahan, Kata 再 zài dan 又 yòu.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Many sides quest on the needs of two standards in implementing education in Indonesia, they are Minimum Service Standards (MSS) and National Education Standards (NES). This article is aimed at discussing the relation between MSS and NES through goverment regulation and related program. In the goverment regulation itself, it is told that the fulfilment of MSS is the initial requirement of the fulfilment of NES. In relation with accreditation instruments as a measurement or assestment tool on the fulfilment of NES, it is proved that all indicators of MSS of primary education by educational unit are also found in accreditation instrument. Some indicators of MSS issued by district goverment are also relevant with accreditation instrument. The difference just belongs to the way to assest and measure the fulfilment standard. The instrument of MSS uses an absolute assestment, in the mean time accreditation instrument uses an interval scale. This action creates the existence of an accredited school but it does not fulfil the MSS yet. Basically, MSS and NES are closely related since both of them are quality assurance of public school or school madrasahs. The MSS are required to meet especially by the goverment of district city by means to be improved in order to fulfil even to exceed the NES. The fulfilment of MSS and NES must be implemented periodically as a mutual responsiblity of educational unit, goverment and private educational institutions, the district and central goverment. ABSTRAK Banyak pihak yang mempertanyakan perlunya dua standar dalam bidang pendidikan di Indonesia, yakni Standar Pelayanan Minimal (SPM) dan Standar Nasional Pendidikan (SNP). Tulisan ini dimaksudkan untuk membahas keterkaitan antara SPM dengan SNP, melalui peraturan dan program yang terkait. Dalam peraturan disebutkan bahwa pemenuhan SPM merupakan syarat awal pemenuhan SNP. Terkait dengan instrumen akreditasi sebagai alat ukur pemenuhan SNP, ternyata seluruh indikator SPM Dikdas oleh satuan pendidikan terdapat juga dalam instrumen akreditasi. Beberapa indikator SPM oleh pemerintah kab./kota juga relevan dengan instrumen akreditasi. Perbedaannya terletak cara penilaian atau pengukuran pemenuhan standar. Instrumen SPM menggunakan penilaian absolut atau mutlak, sementara instrumen akreditasi menggunakan skala interval. Hal ini menyebabkan adanya sekolah yang terakreditasi tetapi belum memenuhi SPM. Pada dasarnya SPM dan SNP sangat terkait, karena keduanya merupakan ukuran mutu sekolah/madrasah. SPM diupayakan pemenuhannya terutama oleh pemerintah daerah, untuk selanjutnya ditingkatkan hingga memenuhi bahkan melampaui SNP. SPM maupun SNP harus diupayakan pemenuhannya secara bertahap, sebagai tanggungjawab bersama satuan pendidikan, lembaga penyelenggara pendidikan swasta, pemerintah daerah dan pemerintah pusat. Kata kunci: standar pelayanan minimal, standar nasional pendidikan, keterkaitan.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis paper explores the teaching of grammar to foreign young learners. It is aimed at giving some insight to teachers specifically to private English teachers encompassing primary young learner, simple grammar game, and teaching grammar to young learner. This article also provides information of how to conduct simple grammar game in EFL class. Although it is still debatable concerning the teaching of grammar to young learners, teachers should provide fun and interesting activities to teaching it to their pupils. Therefore, it is crucial as the English teacher in teaching grammar to young learners in order to help them recognize adequate number of basic knowledge or language skills in their level. In order to bridge the gap, simple grammar game could be used as a natural way to help and lead them to the understanding of the grammar that they may put and make use of it into their real life context in learning English.Keywords: Grammar, Primary Young Learners, Language Skills ABSTRAKMakalah ini membahas pengajaran tatabahasa Inggris kepada anak-anak Sekolah Dasar dengan tujuan untuk memberikan masukan kepada para guru khususnya untuk guru bahasa Inggris yang mencakupanak-anak Sekolah Dasar, permainan tatabahasa sederhana, dan tata bahasa pengajaran dalam anak-anak Sekolah Dasar. Artikel inijuga memberikan informasi bagaimana cara menjalankan permainan tatabahasa sederhana di kelas bahasa Inggris. Meski masih bisa diperdebatkan mengenai pengajaran tatabahasa kepada anak-anak Sekolah Dasar, guru diharapkan untuk memberikan kegiatan yang menyenangkan dan menarik untuk mengajarkannya kepada murid-muridnya. Oleh karena itu, sangat penting bagi guru bahasa Inggris dalam mengajarkan tatabahasa kepada anak-anak Sekolah Dasar sehingga membantu siswa/i dalam mengenali pengetahuan dasar atau kemampuan bahasa yang memadai ditingkat mereka. Untuk menjembatani kesenjangan tersebut, permainan tatabahasa dapat digunakan sebagai salah satu cara alami untuk membantu dan mengarahkan anak-anak Sekolah Dasar dalam memahami tata bahasa yang mungkin dapat dimasukkan dan gunakan ke dalam konteks kehidupan nyata mereka dalam mempelajari bahasa Inggris.Kata Kunci: Permainan Tatabahasa, anak-anak Sekolah Dasar,Pengetahuan Dasar
