Abstract

Life skills are proven to be able to improve human civilization.  Improving literacy culture is one way to develop human life skills.  The National Literacy Movement/ Gerakan Literasi Nasional (GLN) initiated by the government is an effort to realize it.  SDIT Salsabila 2 Klaseman has a Class Literacy Movement/ Gerakan Literasi Kelas (GLK) program.  The limited space available is not a reason to discourage GLK.  This type of research was case study field research.  The institution studied was SDIT Salsabila 2 Klaseman.  The subjects consisted teachers, principals, students and parents.  Data was obtained by observation, interviews and documentation steps.  Analysis was performed by using data reduction techniques, data display, triangulation, and conclusion drawing/verification.  The data showed that the main purpose of GLK was to intensify the culture of school literacy, library revitalization, and maintain the stability of school library functions.  The technical implementation is by creating a class library in each class, fostering a sense of belonging to the class library, supplying books from the school library to the class library, providing educational playgrounds in the area of the class library, giving rewards for students who are diligent in reading, achievements are informed in public, and explore the student guardian support. The problems that arise are the lack of teacher exemplariness, lack of consistency, supply of books from school libraries is still small, and the system of re-education has not been orderly.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there is a significant relationship between the honorary teacher salaries with teacher performance at MI Nurul Huda Gowak in 2019.  In this study, the population was eight honorary teachers at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) Nurul Huda Gowak, Pringsurat, Temanggung in 2019.  Because there are eight teachers, all of which will be sampled, this study is a population study.  The data was gained through questionnaires.  Data were analyzed quantitatively by Spearman correlation with SPSS 12.0 statistical software.  The result shows that there is no significant relationship between the honorary teacher salaries with teacher performance that can be known from the results of the calculation using SPSS 12.0.  The calculation using Spearman's rho obtained 0.518, while r value in Sig (2-tailed) with df 8 is 0.188. It turns out that ro (magnitude: 0.518) is greater than Sig (2-tailed) 0.188. Because ro is bigger than Sig (2-tailed), then the null hypothesis (Ho) is accepted.  It meant that there is no positive correlation between variables teacher salaries and teacher performance.  Based on this fact, it can be explained that teacher salaries have nothing to do with teacher performance.

Abstract

The Character-Building Reinforcement (PPK) in Muhammadiyah Plus Elementary School of Salatiga is to strengthen the students being religious and nationalist. The aim of this research is to identify the application and the success of the Character Building Reinforcement; religious and nationalist in Muhammdiyah Plus Elementary School of Salatiga year 2017/2018. This is qualitative descriptive research, the data is taken from the interview, observation, and documentation. The data analysis technique is using data collection, data reduction, data display, verification, and conclusion confirmation. The result is the application of the implementation model of Character Building Reinforcement; religious and nationalist in Muhammadiyah Plus Elementary School of Salatiga year 2017/2018 is applied in academic, non academic, and self-development, whereas the success in other program and school wisdom are 1) Character-based program as a prime program to the value of religious and nationalist habituation. 2) The culture of the school to characterize the students through four things, they are routines, spontaneous activities, exemplary, and conditioning. 3) Character learning or Nobel character model of the students is holistic, integrated, and balanced according to graduate competence standard, through simple habituations in the classroom. 4) Active participation of the community to build good communication with public and private institutions and the local community. 5) Parents' involvement as the stakeholder makes the parents be active in the implementation of the Character Building Reinforcement in Muhammadiyah Plus Elementary School of Salatiga, especially in religious and nationalist education.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the motivation and mathematical achievement of a two-dimensional figure about folding symmetry and rotary symmetry for fifth-grade students of SD Negeri Ledok 07 Salatiga in the even semester of 2018/2019. This research was conducted in the fifth grade of SD Negeri Ledok 07 Salatiga for one semester. Subjects in the study were all fifth-grade students as many as 23 students, consisting of 12 women and 11 men. This study used two cycles of action. In each cycle, it was carried out in 4 stages, namely planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The data collection was through documentation, observation, and test results. Whereas, the research instruments were in the form of a list of values, observation sheets, and written questions. Data were obtained from observers, consisting of teachers as collaborators and the lesson grid. Data analysis used comparative descriptive followed by reflection. In the initial conditions, it turned out that learning outcomes were still low, as evidenced by students who scored 70 or more were still seven students (34.8%). In the first cycle, students who scored 70 or more were 15 students (65.2%). In cycle II, students who scored 70 or more increased to 21 students (91.3). Then, it can be concluded that the Student Team Achievement Division model can improve motivation and learning outcomes for mathematics in the fifth grade at SD Negeri Ledok 07 Salatiga in the second semester of 2018/2019.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the history of the new year hijriyah implemented, the stage of the ritual and the perception of the community about the new year ritual hijriyah as well as to determine the values of Islamic education in the new year hijriyah in the TRAJI village, Parakan district, Kab. Temanggung. The research is conducted qualitatively. The research results showed that the originator of the new year hijriyah tradition held in the TRAJI village is mastermind Garu, the ritual is the preparation stage; done before the carnival, implementation; start of carnival and ritual ceremony performed in the spring Sidukun, cover; the whole ritual procession in covered with leather puppet performances. The perception of most people around to believe that by implementing the new year ritual in hijriyah will bring blessing and favor and if not held tradition else something bad will happen. Values of Islamic education in the tradition of the hijriyah new year in the TRAJI village is the educational value of history, the advice of kindness, unity and integrity as well as the educational value of local wisdom. The value of unity is very important given the villagers of TRAJI which consists of various religions and beliefs, it can be an example in inter-religious harmony in the life of the nation.

Abstract

One of the factors that influence children's development is the parents' socioeconomic status. Some students are revealed to have mathematics learning outcomes that have not yet reached the Minimum Mastery Criteria (Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal or KKM).  It might occur due to the economic conditions of parents.  Therefore, the researchers desired to determine the effect of parents' socioeconomic status on the learning outcomes of students in the fifth-grade of the Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (Islamic Elementary School or MI) Islamiyah Karangpakel.  The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of parents' socioeconomic status on student mathematics learning outcomes at Islamiyah Karangpakel.  Questionnaires and documentation were used as data collection techniques.  The study was conducted by quantitative methods with the type of expost de facto.  The study population consisted of students in the fifth grade of MI Islamiyah Karangpakel, with a total of 20 students.  The data analysis technique used Simple Linear Regression and was assisted by SPSS 16.0.  Based on the calculation of the significance level of 5%, it indicates that the influence of parents' socioeconomic status on student mathematics learning outcomes was in precentage 41,4%, or has sufficient influence while other variables or factors influence the rest.  Thus, it can be concluded that the influence of parents' social economic status influences students’ mathematics learning outcomes.

Abstract

This research aims to develop interactive learning media for adobe flash-based prayer procedures/Tara (Tata Cara Shalat). Interactive media can develop prayer skills that are taught in the habituation process since the first grade of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI).  This research used development research (RD) methods.  The development process in this study reached the stage of the formative evaluation process consisting of three steps, namely individual prototype material trials, small group trials, and field tryouts.  This field trial involved subjects in a larger class, involving 15-30 (a whole class of learners) or larger groups, namely the available classes.  The results of this field trial were used to make a product, material, or final design revisions. Interactive learning media can solve the problem of prayer skills regarding recitation and movement of prayer.  Thus, interactive learning media made it easier for students to understand the procedures for prayer quickly; besides, the learning process will be more enjoyable

Abstract

The Fraction is a material that is very important for students to learn in elementary school, but various difficulties are shown by students in understanding the material, so this study will analyze the learning obstacle that appears to students in the addition and subtraction material in grade 5 elementary school.  The approach in this research uses qualitative and case study methods. The subjects in this study were 5th-grade students of Geger Kalong Girang 1¾2 elementary schools, Bandung City, West Java, Indonesia with a total of 29 students.  Data was collected by tests, interviews, and documentation, while for data analysis techniques using data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions.  The results of this study indicated that students experience learning obstacles, including 1) ontogenic obstacle, which is the inability of students to understand the purpose of the problems presented; 2) epistemological obstacle, namely the inability of students to understand the concept of fractions is part of the whole and the inability of students to do the addition and subtraction of fractions, and; 3) didactical obstacle caused by the presentation of material and the teacher's way of teaching which is only informal.  This research is expected to facilitate students to understand fractions and be a development material in making teaching materials and didactic design of the addition and subtraction fractions based on learning obstacles that appear in this study.

Abstract

Cognitive development is one of the most important children’s development experiences.  In essence, this potential is determined at the time of conception which is influenced by hereditary factors, but this cognitive potential can also develop depending on environmental factors and the maturity of the opportunity given to determine the maximum developmental limits at the level of intelligence.  Reading is one of the most important parts of every type of learning process.  Through reading, activities would get a lot of knowledge that can lead to success.  This research aims to describe the cognitive development of students through reading corners.  This type of research is field research, using a qualitative approach to the descriptive method.  The research was carried out at SDN 02 Nusa Bakti, South Sumatra province, Indonesia.  The research subjects are teachers and students.  The data were obtained from interviews and observations.  The results showed that a fun reading corner activity as an effort to implement literacy reading movements could develop cognitive abilities of students, including students doing assimilation, and accommodation processes to achieve equilibration, and students are more enthusiastic and motivated to increase their reading interest.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the improvement of science process skills with the media using concrete in science learning by inquiry.  The study was conducted using a quasi-experimental design with a nonequivalent control group design.  In the experimental group applied to learn to utilize concrete media in learning science in an inquiry, while the control class applied to conventional learning utilizing audio-visual media. Subject: The study included 60 students of class V Elementary School performances in Purwakarta district. The test results for the normalization gain skills enhancement process gain values obtained experimental class (N-gain 0.46) is greater than the value of the class gain control (N-gain 0.17).  Based on the test results mean difference two improvements by using the t-test, obtained t = 2.688 table = 2.045, with sig. 0.012 α 0.05 then H0 is rejected and Ha.  Therefore, inquiry science learning by utilizing concrete media can significantly improve students' science process skills.
