Social studies subjects are one of the subjects that are not liked because the learning context is too monotonous containing memorization and readings that make the learning process saturated.  This study aims to determine the increase in social studies activities and learning outcomes in the development of production technology by applying the Connecting Organizing Reflecting Extending (CORE) learning model.  This study used the Classroom Action Research (CAR) or Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) method by Kemmis and Mc.Taggart models.  The results of this study were in the first cycle of student activity aspects of visual activities 71.8% (good), aspects of oral activities 69.2% (good criteria), and aspects of listening activities 77% (good).  In the second cycle, there was an increase namely the students' activities visual aspects to 83.3% (very good), aspects of oral activities 81.4% (very good), and aspects of listening activities 83.3% (very good).  For the final test results, students also experienced an increase.  The magnitude of the increase in the percentage of mastery learning from the initial data to the first cycle increased from 46.1% to 69.2%, while from the first cycle to the second cycle an increase from 69.2% to 92.3% of students who completed.  Thus, it can be stated that the CORE model can improve student learning outcomes towards social studies learning on the material development of production technology in fourth-grade students at SDN Salamjajar, Cisitu District, Sumedang region.

Abstract

Individual concept is one’s view of oneself as something invaluable or worthless. The view of the self will influence to accomplish efforts, the motivations to achieve the ideals, and behaviors. The positive self-concept elicits the appearance of self-esteem and the spirit to move forwards. The individual positive concept tends to view others from positive thinking and vice versa. Individual concept is formed through learning and environmental influence particularly parents. The change of individual concept may be influenced by personal stipulation, failure, and depression – even though this can be controlled through appropriate rearing. Parenting is very influential to the creation of individual concept of the children. Unfortunately, parents and teachers do not realize that their attitude and conduct have broken down the children’s self-esteem. This automatically creates the negative individual concept of them. This is the time to change to the scientific parenting model and affection. The model does not only emphasize parents’ ego but also appreciating children as growing and developing individual, as well as learning individual with their strengths and weaknesses.

Abstract

The teachers are the main actors in developing learning. Learning is said to be successful if it achieves goals. Learning achievement occurs if supported by good facilities and infrastructure, one of which is learning media. The ideal learning media is developed by teachers who have broad perspectives. This research's objectives are knowing the perspective of SD/MI teachers on learning media, knowing the form of media used by SD/MI teachers in learning, knowing the form of media developed by the teacher. This study uses a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. The research data were collected through a Focus Group Discussion (FGD). Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model. The results of this study indicate that: 1. The teacher still interprets the learning media as the result of sophisticated modern technology but does not have a broad meaning; 2. The learning media used are still limited to modern technology, not optimally utilizing simple technology, the potential of the surrounding environment, or the three's collaboration; 3. The learning media developed are still limited to modern technology results, have not utilized simple technology, the potential of the surrounding environment, or the three's collaboration.

Abstract

The existence of students at the same education level is likely similar in terms of their age; but actually, they are heterogeneous individuals. They have different mental, social, and emotional maturity, ability, interest, and their achievement. The difference demands different treatment and guidance. Accordingly, education orienting to the student development should be interpreted as the conscious efforts to prepare students referring to the individualized instruction principles, even though is accomplished classically. School institutions, in fact, commonly generalize and do not educate students based upon their characteristics to achieve their truly development. The question is why students look boring and reluctant to join a certain subject in very complicated and ambitious curriculum? It can be that they receive all immediately, while they are still unready to accept in a such development. What kind of process that can help their development? To do so, school institutions need the education process suitable with student development closely relating to physical and psychological development. This includes education that helps physical growth, cognitive and emotional development, creativity enhancement, aptitude, social relation development, as well as language and moral development.

Abstract

Nowadays, online learning has forced educational stakeholders to sufficiently involve online learning by handling the fundamental difference from traditional learning platforms. While educative interaction is vital but very limited to online learning, the teachers should condition the new environment to enable the learning process. However, educative interaction on online learning requires exact syntax to help the teachers implement it correctly. Therefore, this study aimed to identify the implementation of educative learning on online learning and formulate the syntax to help teachers create educative interaction. The study focused on Islamic and Character Education subjects. The research method is qualitative, using in-depth interviews to gather the data. The informants were from 2 different elementary schools. The study result revealed two types of syntax for educative interaction on online learning: the syntax of educative interaction on real-time chatting app and syntax of educative interaction on the video conference app. Every syntax has similar general phases: preparation, introduction, core, and closing. However, every phase has different details, adjusted to the service provided by the application used. Eventually, the teachers' competence and spirit and supporting infrastructure become the primary factors in maximizing the interaction. Besides, application choice determines the strategy that will be done.

Abstract

This article describes a model of interrelating determinants of father involvement, the recent issue in developmental psychology. In 1970s to 1980s some psychologists like Lamb (1981) views that child development research has forgotten the contribution of father involvement. They only focus on the maternal behavior that influences on child’s outcomes. Nowadays, many researchers have revealed some empirical evidences to strengthen the importance of father involvement. Antecedent variables have been found and being modeled. In Western culture, some of them fit into empirical findings. But, we should verify this model to Eastern culture. In this phase, testifying the father involvement model needs a good theoretical framework and research findings. Three theories will be used to analyze father involvement. The positive and negative aspects of theories are used to put them on proportional perspective.
