Abstract

The constitution has a fundamental role in the life of the nation and state, regulating the system of government, the relationship between the state and citizens, and the protection of human rights. The development of the Indonesian constitution underwent various changes influenced by historical, social and political factors. From the 1945 Constitution passed at independence, the 1949 RIS Constitution, the 1950 UUDS, to returning to the 1945 Constitution through the 1959 Presidential Decree, each change reflected the political dynamics that occurred. The 1998 reforms were an important turning point with four amendments to the 1945 Constitution aimed at strengthening democracy and the rule of law. Social dynamics have also contributed to constitutional reform, especially in raising awareness of human rights and decentralizing governance. Meanwhile, political factors often determine the direction of constitutional change, especially through the role of political parties, governments and power elites. This research uses the literature study method with literature analysis to understand more deeply how historical, social and political factors influence the Indonesian constitution. The results show that the constitution has always evolved in response to changing times, but its implementation still faces various challenges. Therefore, a strong commitment from all elements of the nation is needed to ensure that the constitution can function effectively in creating a democratic, stable and equitable government.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the finding that some students do not understand the value of global diversity and the suboptimal application of cultural literacy in schools. Thus, it is necessary to develop global diversity values through cultural literacy. The purpose of this study was to determine the development of global diversity values through the application of cultural literacy at SMP Negeri 14 Semarang. This study used a descriptive qualitative research method with data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews, and documentation. The subjects of the study included the curriculum vice principal, PPKn teachers, the P5 facilitator team, and six students. The results of this study indicate that the development of global diversity values is carried out through several strategies, including the integration of diversity values into learning, Pancasila Student Profile (P5) project activities, and habituation programs such as cultural and art literacy. This study concludes that the application of cultural literacy can be a strategic means of fostering global diversity values in schools. This has a positive impact on students' understanding, attitudes, and social skills in appreciating diversity and strengthening national identity.

Abstract

 Global diversity is one of the important aspects that must be possessed by students. This is stated in the Pancasila Student Profile program. Global diversity will foster a sense of mutual respect, tolerance, and openness to other cultures. Global diversity has four elements, one of which is intercultural communication and interaction. This problem is caused by a lack of understanding of global diversity. The purpose of this study is to see how the application of intercultural communication and interaction as part of global diversity, especially in Pancasila Education. The research method used is a qualitative approach and is descriptive. The application of global diversity, especially the elements of intercultural communication and interaction in Pancasila Education, is in accordance with the provisions of the Ministry of Education and Culture. Meanwhile, from the school side, it is implemented through the title of the P5 work and school activities, namely cultural festivals and cross-cultural discussions. This received a positive response, where students became more confident in appearing in public and representing their respective cultures.

Abstract

Academic procrastination is a psychological phenomenon that frequently occurs in educational settings, including Social Studies learning at the junior high school level. This study aims to analyze the relationship between academic procrastination and Social Studies learning, as well as the factors influencing students' tendency to delay academic tasks. The research employs a literature review method with a thematic synthesis approach, examining previous studies on academic procrastination, Social Studies education, and effective learning strategies. The findings indicate that internal factors such as low motivation, poor self-regulation skills, and academic anxiety significantly contribute to procrastination. Additionally, external factors such as non-interactive teaching methods, lack of environmental support, and mismatches between learning strategies and students' learning styles also exacerbate procrastination levels. The implications of this study highlight the need for more innovative and interactive learning strategies, such as discussion-based approaches, case studies, problem-based projects, and the integration of technology to enhance student engagement and reduce procrastination tendencies.Prokrastinasi akademik merupakan fenomena psikologis yang sering terjadi di lingkungan pendidikan, termasuk pembelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial (IPS) di tingkat Sekolah Menengah Pertama (SMP). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan antara prokrastinasi akademik dengan pembelajaran IPS, serta faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi kecenderungan siswa dalam menunda tugas-tugas akademik. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode tinjauan literatur dengan pendekatan sintesis tematik, dengan mengkaji penelitian-penelitian terdahulu mengenai prokrastinasi akademik, pendidikan Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial, dan strategi pembelajaran yang efektif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa faktor internal seperti motivasi yang rendah, kemampuan pengaturan diri yang buruk, dan kecemasan akademik berkontribusi secara signifikan terhadap penundaan. Selain itu, faktor eksternal seperti metode pengajaran yang tidak interaktif, kurangnya dukungan lingkungan, dan ketidaksesuaian antara strategi pembelajaran dengan gaya belajar siswa juga memperburuk tingkat penundaan. Implikasi dari penelitian ini menyoroti perlunya strategi pembelajaran yang lebih inovatif dan interaktif, seperti pendekatan berbasis diskusi, studi kasus, proyek berbasis masalah, dan integrasi teknologi untuk meningkatkan keterlibatan siswa dan mengurangi kecenderungan menunda-nunda.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of character education in fostering students' social care behavior at SMP Negeri 1 Salem. The focus is on how social values such as empathy, responsibility, and mutual cooperation are instilled through a holistic educational approach that goes beyond cognitive aspects.The research employed a qualitative descriptive method, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Informants included Civics Education (PPKn) teachers, Guidance and Counseling (BK) teachers, and students.The findings reveal that character education is implemented through three main approaches: habituation, role modeling, and involvement in social activities. Character values are integrated into Civics Education lessons, extracurricular activities, and counseling services such as the "Teman Curhat" (Peer Listener) program. Students demonstrate social care behavior through actions such as helping peers, maintaining school cleanliness, and actively participating in communal work.Supporting factors include active teacher roles, supportive school programs, and parental involvement. Meanwhile, the challenges include students' lack of awareness and negative external influences.In conclusion, well-planned and comprehensive character education effectively shapes students’ social care behavior. The involvement of all school elements plays a crucial role in creating a conducive environment for reinforcing social values among students.

Abstract

The research stems from the observed inadequacy of students' cooperative skills within the learning environment and the suboptimal role of Civic Education (PPKn) teachers in enhancing these competencies. This study aims to analyze the role of PPKn teachers in fostering students' cooperative skills at SMP Negeri 22 Semarang. Employing a descriptive qualitative research design, the findings reveal several key dimensions of the teachers' roles: 1) As Learning Facilitators, teachers engage students in collaborative projects and cultivate an interactive classroom climate; 2) As Discussion Directors, they provide encouragement, establish a non-threatening atmosphere, and mediate the exchange of perspectives; 3) As Autonomy Coaches, they underscore the significance of personal accountability through contextual learning approaches; 4) As Moderators, they demonstrate command of subject matter, effective classroom management, motivational techniques, and judicious time allocation; 5) As Learning Resource Developers, they create and utilize diverse instructional materials, including presentation modules (e.g., PPT); 6) As Evaluators and Monitors, they conduct systematic planning, encompassing the design of learning objectives and the implementation of assessment rubrics. In conclusion, the role of PPKn teachers at SMP Negeri 22 Semarang in augmenting students' cooperative skills is largely effective, entailing well-considered pedagogical planning and strategic implementation.

Abstract

This study investigates the prevalent issue of underdeveloped critical thinking skills among vocational students at SMK PGRI 1 Kudus, a context in which fervor for specialized majors often eclipses engagement with general subjects. The research objective is to enhance critical thinking competencies within class X MPLB 3 by implementing infographic media centered on the historical formulation of Pancasila. Employing a descriptive qualitative methodology, the findings indicate that fostering critical thinking is essential for empowering students to articulate their viewpoints effectively in an academic setting. The integration of infographic learning media demonstrably and significantly augments students' critical thinking capacities. The study concludes by advocating for pedagogical approaches wherein educators proactively encourage students to voice their perspectives, thereby cultivating a more dynamic, interactive, and intellectually rigorous learning environment.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine how democratic values are applied in the election of the president of the student council at SMP Agus Salim Semarang and how this affects students' perceptions of democracy. Particularly in the contemporary day, when cultural identity is under threat, democracy teaching in schools is essential for forming students' moral fiber and political consciousness. The student council election is designed as a democratic mechanism encompassing various stages, such as socialization, candidate registration, campaigning, debates, voting, and inauguration, introducing democratic principles, including active participation, freedom of expression, transparency, and accountability. Using a qualitative approach, the findings show that this election not only selects a student leader but also serves as an effective medium for democracy education. Through this activity, students improve their political awareness, communication skills, tolerance, and critical thinking abilities. Therefore, the student council election at this school proves effective in helping shape students as citizens who value democratic principles and are prepared for active participation in community life.
