Journal DaFIna : Journal Deutsch als Fremdsprache in Indonesien is an electronic journal managed by the Department of German Literature at the State University of Malang which contains articles in both Indonesian and foreign languages. Articles contained in the form of analysis, study, application of theory, results of research, and discussion of literature with the following scope: 1) DaF (Deutsch als Fremdsprache) / learning German as a foreign language, especially in Indonesia, but does not rule out the possibility of themes same from other countries; 2) Germanistic / Deutsche Linguistics / linguistics in German and its teaching; 3) Deutsche Literatur / German literature and its teaching; 4) Übersetzung / German translation and teaching; and 5) related themes, for example a) Tourism / tourism management for German-speaking foreign tourists and their teaching and b) Deutschkurs / management of German language courses and teaching.

Abstract

This article describes the representation of the Bloom’s Taxonomy and the Neuner’s Typology of Exercises. According to the analysis results, a representation of Bloom's Taxonomy and Neuner’s Typology of Exercises are found the books of Netzwerk A1. Representations of the Bloom's Taxonomy are categorized in the cognitive, psychomotor, and affective domains. The exercises in the books of Netzwerk A1 have also represented the typology of communicative exercise.

Abstract

Speaking is one of the hardest language skills and it is relatively difficult to master. Nevertheless, the german students learn the skill through the learning activities, intracuricular, cocuricular and extracuricular. The aim of this research is to describe the speaking practice in Deutschclub and the influence of the participation in Deutschclub on the speaking ability. The research used the descriptive quantitative method and there are two instruments used to collect the data. The first intsrument ist questionnaires about speaking practice of german students in the year 2018 in Deutschclub, the learning activity in Deutschclub and the speaking ability. The second instrument is the documentation from the grades and tasks from the students. The sample is 68 german students in the year 2018, who took the course Konversation I.According to the results of the reasearch, it can be summarized that most of german students do speaking practice and train in the planned time. However, there are some aspects of speaking skills, that were not fulfilled, although they got und learned them in the course. It was found, that Deutschclub can be an answer to the problems and for the german students, who want to improve their speakings skill with each other. They can also discuss without hesitation about german language und culture, so that they can establish contacts with other german students. On the other hand, Deutschclub couldn’t improve students’ speaking skill because of the low attendance and low participation of the students during the Deutschclub.

Abstract

Since 2008, the Goethe-Institut has organized PASCH-Jugendkurs for students from partner schools around the world through the initiative of “Schools: Partners of the Future” (PASCH). One of the main objectives of PASCH-Jugendkurs is to improve students' language skills. During the three-week youth course, scholarship holders have the interesting experience of learning German in the international learning community. They learn with many friends from many different cultures and countries. This gives participants the opportunity to be friends of the same age and to exchange ideas with other participants from different countries. Most of PASCH-Jugendkurs participants from Indonesia made significant progress after participating in PASCH-Jugendkurs. 77.73% of all participants showed an improvement in their German language skills. When interacting with participants from various countries, they sometimes encounter obstacles especially in communication. Language barriers, cultural differences, differences of temperament and character and age differences are the reasons given by the participants and the inhibiting factors they face when communicating with friends from different cultural and language backgrounds. However, the positive impressions they receive in the PASCH-Jugendkurs will definitely bring them back to their home country.

Abstract

This research aims to develop learning media “Let’s Go, Deutsch!“ to be used for XI grade students MAN 1 Kota Malang. “Let’s Go, Deutsch!“ is based on flash and focused on vocabulary on Familie und Beruf theme. This media contains vocabulary, expressions, videos, and quizes.The type of research is Research and Development (R&D) that use Hoge, Tondora, and Marelli method. The develoment method that originally has seven steps is modified ti five steps. “Let’s Go, Deutsch!“ has been validated by material expert and media expert. This media has been tested to 29 students of XI Language grade MAN1 Kota Malang. The instruments used in this research are questionnaire forms. The research method is qualitative descriptive.The result of this Research and Development shows that “Let’s Go, Deutsch!“ is worth to be used and can used as intermediary in the delivering the materials. The subjects also stated that this media can motivated them to learn vovabularies with fun way.

Abstract

This development research aims to develop a product in the form of E-UKBM for learning German with the theme Essen und Trinken from the sub-theme of Alltagsleben. This material is studied by high school class XI students in the even semester. This research and development model uses the ADDIE model (analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation) by Dick and Carey. Based on the results of validation by material experts and media experts, this E-UKBM product is suitable for use.

Abstract

AbstractThe purpose of this study is to describe the translation method that used by students of the German Literature Department, State University of Malang in translating the song "Wie Schön Du Bist". The method is qualitative. Sources of the data in this study are 16 students of the German Literature Department who are currently taking Translation Theory course. The data in this study are words, phrases, clauses, and sentences both SL and TL. The results of this study indicate that students use five translation methods in translating the song "Wie Schön Du Bist", namely the literal translation method, the faithful translation method, the semantic translation method, the free translation method, and the communicative translation method. The literal translation method is the most dominant translation method that used by the students in translating this song. Students look for the closest equivalent grammar structure in TL, but cannot re-express the meaning of SL in TL. What is transferred to TL is the form of SL, not the meaning contained in SL. Keywords : translation method, translate, song “Wie Schön Du Bist”

Abstract

This research and development aim to develop games based on android “Weiβt du das?” for vocabulary learning on the Wohnung theme. The research and development  model used in this research and development is the ADDIE, which consists of five stages. The stages are: (1) Analysis; (2) Design; (3) Development; (4) Implementation; (5) Evaluation. The data of this study were obtained from open questionnaire sheets of product trials by media and material experts. The result showed that game product could be used for learning vocabulary on the Wohnung theme.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the components of the lesson plan (RPP) compiled by students of German Department State University of Malang and used during carrying out Kajian Praktik Lapangan (KPL) in several high schools in the academic year 2019/2020. This research uses a descriptive qualitative research design. The data source of this research is the written data source, which are documents in the form of lesson plans that are compiled and used by five students of German Department 2016 who carry out the KPL in several high schools. The research data is in the form of verbal data about the overall description of information in each lesson plan. The technique used to collect data is the document study guidelines, while the technique used to analyze the data is the document analysis technique. The result showed that the 2013 curriculum’s RPPs compiled by German Department students were mostly in accordance with Permendikbud No. 22 of 2016. However, there are some deficiencies such us AR and AW not listing all 13 components of the lesson plans needed and in some lesson plans components, almost all authors does not explain in detail the information on each component of the RPP.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop a tourism catalog of Malang Raya that compiled in bilingual, Indonesian and German. The product has been through a validation process by the media expert and material expert. The field trial was conducted by 10 respondents of the Indonesian Literature Department State University of Malang. The instrument used in this study was a questionnaire sheets. This study employed was descriptive quantitative research. The result of this study stated that the catalog is suitable to be used as a tourism reference in Malang Raya, and as literature readings for the related institutions in terms of Malang Raya tourism.

Abstract

Abstract : This research was conducted to identify the grammatical barriers most often carried out by high school students. This type of research is a case study research to reveal the grammatical errors obtained instead of writing essays. These researchers uses a qualitative descriptive study. The data in this study are the results of German sentences written by 10 students in an essay, which then identified and classified the error Grammatically reviewed by Morphology and Syntax. The types of grammar errors analyzed specifically: capitalization, conjugation, verbposition , personalpronomen and article.
