Abstract

Learning activities during the Covid 19 pandemic in 2020 were addressed with various innovations and creativity among teachers. The use of technology media makes the learning process active and students motivated. This classroom research was conducted by applying the Flipped Classroom learning model assisted by the Kakaotalk application and other learning media to determine the effectiveness of this model in increasing student learning interactions in Elementry Level Indonesian Speaking and Listening courses at the Department of Malay-Indonesia Translation and Interpretation of the Hankuk University of Foreign. Korean Studies. The results show that the application of the Flipped Classroom model can improve student interaction skills in speaking and listening to Indonesian material well because they have carried out intensive learning activities outside of online classes, namely using the Kakaotalk application in communicating between students and between teachers.

Abstract

This research comes from a political caricature by Patrick Chappatté in French and discusses about the Brexit issue that occurred in Great Britain. A caricature is an art in the form of an illustration with the main object being a human face. Caricature aims to provide an information or to criticize something. The purpose of this study is to explain the description of the issue of Brexit and to analyze the message and the meaning to be conveyed using a semiotic approach. This reaserch use descriptive qualitatuve approach. The results of this study found that the description of the issue regarding Brexit illustrates the efforts made by the Prime Minister to fight for the votes of the majority of the people who want to Brexit, while the meaning conveyed through the caricature is how the struggle, process, and drama faced by Great Britain in order to leave the European Union.

Abstract

Modernization that occurs in society today has led to the emergence of industrial acceleration and new technology. One of the most influential elements of modernization is the technology on the monitor screen. The purpose of this study is to determine the cultural changes that have occurred in Sumbermulyo Village, Jombang. The theory used in this research is cultural materialism initiated by Marvin Haris. The results showed that the culture that occurred in the Sumbermulyo Village community was greatly influenced by changing ethical behavior in the community. The culture that is still sustainable today is Mahabaturrasul. However, the organizers are still dominated by older people who have been active in this event since they were young. The cause of cultural change in Sumbermulyo Village is the effect of sedentary behavior which includes a large number of activities in the house due to frequent viewing of the monitor screen.

Abstract

This paper defines the political strategy of the 48th Sultan of Ternate, Mudaffar Sjah, in reorganizing his power base after the death of the 47th Sultan of Ternate, Iskandar Djabir Syah, in 1975. This paper emphasizes two strategies of the elite of the Sultanate of Ternate to maintain their political existence in the local political sphere. The first is associated with government parties: During the era of the Soeharto government, the elite of the sultanate took political decisions to support the government party, the GOLKAR. The support of the Sultanate of Ternate to the GOLKAR Party was understood as an accommodating strategy and maintained in authoritarian and centralist power. The accommodating approach aimed to survive the destruction as occurred in the Soekarno government and be able to utilize the resources possessed by the force of the New Order.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to analyse transitivity system of sexual-related language in Eka Kurniawan’s Cantik itu Luka and its English version. This study employs qualitative method. There are 430 data of sexual related-language in Eka Kurniawans’ Cantik itu Luka and its English version. Each of version is 215. Data were collected by reading Indonesian and English version, identifying the related terms, analysing and comparing the sample, and drawing the conclusion. The collected data were analysed by using transitivity analysis proposed by Halliday. From 215 data of each version, the writer only analysed 213 clauses for each since there were two clauses were incomplete and untranslated so they could not be taken as sample of data. From transitivity analysis, it was found that the dominant process was material process both in Indonesian and English version. Kata Kunci : transitivity, sexual-related language, Cantik itu Luka, Beauty is A Wound.

Abstract

Intonasi merupakan aspek yang perlu dikuasai pemelajar bahasa asing karena jika intonasi tidak dituturkan secara tepat, hal itu akan berakibat pada kesalahpahaman (Ur, 1999). Begitu pula pemelajar Korea yang memiliki karakterisasi prosodik tersendiri saat belajar bahasa Indonesia. Penelitian ini menginvestigasi intonasi tuturan deklaratif dan interogatif bahasa Indonesia oleh pemelajar BIPA dari Korea pada tingkat pemula, madya, dan tinggi. Data penelitian berupa tuturan tiga kalimat bahasa Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan Praat untuk melihat pola intonasi dan ciri akustik ujaran. Kajian ini menunjukkan bahwa ciri akustik yang menandai ketiga tingkat pemelajar adalah kontur intonasinya. Tinggi nada hanya menandai kontras tuturan deklaratif dan interogatif. Hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan bahwa pola intonasi dan ciri akustik tuturan tingkat pemula dan madya cenderung sama dengan bahasa Korea, sementara ciri akustik tuturan tinggi cenderung sama dengan bahasa Indonesia meskipun pola intonasinya berbeda dengan bahasa Indonesia. Hal itu berkaitan dengan kurangnya porsi pengajaran intonasi di dalam kelas BIPA.

Abstract

Berdasarkan pernyataan Chaer bahwa seseorang yang sudah mengenyam pendidikan tentu dapat menguasai bahasa daerah dan bahasa Indonesia Kompetensi terhadap bahasa dapat dilihat pada keterampilan dalam berkomunikasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan bentuk interferensi bidang morfologi dan sintaksis terhadap suatu tuturan. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deksriptif kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini yaitu Observasi, menyimak, dokumentasi, dan studi pustaka. Hasil penelitian berupa (1) Kosakata yang digunakan oleh penutur ketika menggunakan bahasa Indonesia sebagai unsur formal mendapat pengaruh dari bahasa daerah; (2) Faktor terjadinya penyusupan bahasa daerah ke dalam bahasa Indonesia yang diakibatkan latar belakang dan pengetahuan penutur. Simpulan dalam penelitian ini adalah wujud penggunaan bahasa Indonesia dalam tuturan percakapan antar remaja di Kabuapten Maros terjadi interferensi atau penyusupan Bahasa daerah. Oleh karena itu meskipun bahasa daerah merupakan alternatif dalam berkomunikasi, namun tentunya wajib menerapkan Bahasa Indonesia sebagai Bahasa persatuan dan Bahasa nasional.

Abstract

Toraja cultural heritage, both in the form of cultural heritage and traditions that are still alive in society, are all manifestations of megalithic cultural traditions that have been known since the arrival of the influence of the Austronesian people to the present. Various forms of Toraja megalithic culture, such as menhirs (simbuang), burial forms (liang), settlements centred in Tonkonan, and various types of rituals that are still alive in the local community. The unique cultural wealth of Toraja, combined with beautiful natural conditions, has great potential to be managed and utilized for the tourism industry. Several cultural sites have been used as tourists objects, such as the Bori' Parinding megalith site, the Londa burial site, the Kete' Kesu settlement site, various traditional ceremonies in the life cycle of the Toraja people, and the daily life of the traditional Toraja people.

Abstract

 The aim of this study was to identify the types of technological tools and applications used by students with visual impairment at SLBA-A Yapti Makassar and analyze the students' perception and willingness in using various means of technology in their EFL Classroom. The questionnaires and interviews were used to perform the study methods in which the researcher used Google form that sent to students via WhatsApp feature. Despite the challenge of visual impairment faced by students in integrating technology in the classroom, the results showed that students have positive attitudes about the use of those technology and applications.

Abstract

In doing interaction with other people, Cooperative Principle should be followed in order to make communication runs well and smoothly. Since in modern-day most of the information is passed on through written communication, and media play a noteworthy role within the conveyance of hot issues of the day, the language of the news has attracted the consideration of both media researchers and language specialists for decades. There are changes when people have to break Cooperative Principle in order to avoid offense and embarrassment. Farther, this research aims to find out kinds of maxim violations done by speakers on “Saturday Night Live” talk show. The result of this research found that there are twenty-two utterances that violated the maxim of Quality, the maxim of Quantity, the maxim of  Manner, and the maxim of  Relevance.
