Abstract

Studyng the posuo traditional rituals carried out by the people of Buton we will talk about what is contained in the ritual. Posuo for the Buton community is a transitional ritual or ceremony for Buton women who have entered puberty, a transition from adolescence to adulthood. For the people of Buton, this ritual is not merely a routine of adat, but substantially has its own meaning through a system integrated in it. Through semiotic analysis with the theory used by Ferdinand de Saussure, it can be studied that the posuo traditional ritual applied to Buton women is a contextual language system that clearly contains certain  meanings. The elements that build this posuo ritual so that it becomes meaningful is certainly related to the sign system as a symbol. As a language system, posuo rituals for Buton women will be described through sintagma and system studies.   Keywords :Posuo Costum Ritual, Buton, Saussure Semotics

Abstract

This paper reviews the changes in the nomenclature system of the traditional Makassar ethnic community to the modern one. The goal is to know the factors behind the name change process. This study uses the Grounded Research method, a descriptive-analytic approach to capture and analyze data. The population of this research is Makassar people who are defined as native speakers of the Makassar language and who are domiciled in the Makassar community and have Makassarese parents. The sample of this study amounted to 260 people, who were determined purposively based on the distribution of administrative areas in the areas inhabited by the Makassar ethnic community. The study indicates that the factors that influence the occurrence of these changes are geographical factors, historical, language, and culture; advances in technology and media; parent education level factors; demographic and social characteristics; factor orientation to the future; and prestige factors.

Abstract

Riset dan pengembangan ini bertujuan menciptakan bahan ajar berbasis sastra anak dan pendidikan karakter yang layak, praktis, dan efektif untuk siswa kelas IV Sekolah Dasar khususnya di SD Negeri Inpres Hartaco Makassar. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian dan pengembangan (Research and Development) dengan metode deskriptif dan eksperimen. Desain pengembangannya menggunakan model pengembangan Borg dan Gall yang disederhanakan menjadi empat langkah yaitu: (1) tahap prapengembangan (perencanaan), (2) tahap pengembangan produk, (3) tahap uji kelayakan produk, dan (4) tahap pascapengembangan. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan instrumen pedoman observasi, tes, dokumentasi dan angket. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah teknik deskriptif dan teknik inferensial. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bahan ajar yang dikembangkan layak, efektif, dan praktis digunakan untuk siswa kelas IV khususnya di SD Negeri Inpres Hartaco Makassar. Rata-rata hasil uji kelayakan bahan ajar oleh ahli materi sebesar 3,92 dengan kategori baik. Rata-rata hasil uji kelayakan bahan ajar oleh media sebesar 4,75 dengan kategori sangat baik. Rata-rata hasil uji kelayakan bahan ajar oleh subjek uji coba sebesar 4,14 dengan kategori baik. Hasil uji t menunjukkan thitung = 3,15 lebih besar dari ttabel = 2,007. Artinya, ada perbedaan yang signifikan antara peserta didik yang menggunakan bahan ajar yang dikembangkan dibandingkan peserta didik yang tidak menggunakan bahan ajar. Dengan demikian, bahan ajar yang dikembangkan efektif untuk dipergunakan sebagai pengangan siswa dalam pembelajaran. Rata-rata kemandirian belajar siswa sebesar 78,54 dengan kategori mandiri. Artinya, bahan ajar yang dikembangkan praktis untuk digunakan oleh siswa guna meningkatkan kemandirian belajarnya.

Abstract

School teachers need scientific papers in proposing their promotion. However, in general, teachers are still constrained by their ability to write scientific papers. They still do not understand in writing scientific papers. Therefore, they need help to get out of the problem. The Research and Community Service Institute of Hasanuddin University held training and assistance in writing scientific papers and maximizing the use of Mendeley for teachers of SMP Negeri 1 Bungoro Pangkep Regency with the aim of 1) increasing the motivation of teachers of SMP Negeri 1 Bungoro Pangkep in writing scientific papers, 2) SMP Negeri 1 Bunggoro teachers can write scientific articles. The method used is training with lecture and question and answer methods. As for assistance, the discussion method is used through the zoom application. The results of the research show that 1) teachers are motivated to write scientific papers and 2) teachers are encouraged to write scientific papers as evidenced by the number of entries in their research.

Abstract

The training on the application of the latest version of the Indonesian Language Spelling Standard (EYD V) in writing scientific papers for teachers of Pondok Pesantren Shohwatul Is’ad Pangkep aims to improve their ability to write good and correct scientific papers in accordance with the latest version of EYD. The training was conducted through lectures, discussions, and writing exercises. The results of the training showed an improvement in understanding and application of the latest version of EYD in writing scientific papers. The teachers of Pondok Pesantren Shohwatul Is’ad Pangkep were able to write scientific papers better and correctly, and met the latest version of EYD. The conclusion of this training is the importance of applying the latest version of EYD in writing scientific papers for better understanding and universal recognition.

Abstract

The speech act becomes a crucial major to provide the better conversation between people in the society or setting condition. The aim of the research is to explore the speech act used by the lecturer and students involving classroom interaction in teaching and learning process. In this research, the case study was used to examine the lecturer and students’ speech act in classroom interaction. The subject of the research was two lecturer and six students in linguistics program of faculty of cultural sciences, Hasanuddin University, Makassar in academic year 2022/2023. The sample was chosen by purposive sampling while the instrument of the research is observation and interview. In this research, the data will be analyzed by Searle’s Theoretical framework. The lecturer argues that the reason is using more directive speech acts is only to invite students to talk more and to carry out the principle of what Communicative Language Teaching is like believe. In this case, the directive is mostly dominant proposed by the lecturer in the teaching and learning process in the classroom interaction. It shows that the speech act used in the classroom can be powerful in the teaching and learning process for interaction in the classroom. The last, the implications can be seen from the finding that using directive speech acts that involve asking a lot of questions, asking, or governing contributes to student achievement, especially in productive skills.

Abstract

The research aimed to describe the forms of the code mixing, switching, and interference at State Senior High School 6 (SMAN) Maros, Bontoa District, Maros Regency, Sulawesi Selatan. This was a qualitative descriptive research examining linguistic phenomena with the sociolinguistic approach Data resource were the speeches used by the teachers of the study programs of Religious Education, Natural Science, Social Science, Physic Education, Indonesian language, mathematics, and all the speeches of the students involving in the learning process which contained the code mixing, switching, and interference. Data were collected by the non-participative observation. While the data were also collected by the scrutinized technique of the free involving conversation, recording technique, and note-taking. The classified data were then analysed by the qualitative descriptive analysis method.The research result indicates that the code mixing forms are: verb, adverb, conjunction, reduplication, personal pronouns, and phrases, whereas the code switching is in the forms of independent clauses, coordinative clauses, and sentences. and the interferences are: addition of klitika, mi, pi, ji, phoneme removal, addition of phoneme, replacement of phoneme /i/ into /e/ and phoneme /u/ to /o/. The code mixing, switching, and interference occur in the learning process at State Senior High School (SMAN) Maros, Bontoa District, Maros Regency, Sulawesi Selatan. performed by the teachers, students from Indonesian language into Makassar dialect .

Abstract

This research is motivated by the increasing use of abreviation to social media instagram. This study aims to describe abreviation manifestation in social media instagram. The method used in this research, namely the method refer to the screenshot and record abreviation data. Furthermore, the sample used in this study is not dependent on quantity, but rather on quality based on the scope and depth of the problem under study. The results of this study indicate that the embodiment of abreviation consists of two, namely conventional and nonconventional abreviation. Nonconventional divided into two forms, namely plesetan and manasuka. Plesetan also consists of two terms, namely the term health and education level. Furthermore, manasuka consists of four terms, namely the naming of the day, the fruit, the Indonesian artist, and the country.

Abstract

This research aimed (1) to explain the learning process in writing short stories using the Learning-Based Project Methode by Class VIII at Lau State Junior High School, Maros Regency; (2) to explain the learning tesult of the short stories after the implementation of the model of the Learning-Based Project Methode by Class VIII at Lau State Junior High School, Maros Regency.The research type used was the Classroom Action Research, know as Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) or the Classroom Action Research. This Classroom Action Research implemented several cyrcle in its implementation.The research results indicated that there had been inceases of the process and the learning achievement of the students. Meanwhile, the learning result of the control class showed a difference. Cycle I reached the mean result of 70,86 and the cycle II reached the mean value of 72,11. However, such difference did not show any increase in the learning result. Both cycle could be categorized as adequate. The learning achievement of the experiment class showed a difference which was significant enough. Cycle I reached the mean value of 79,76 and could be categorized as adequate, while cycle II reached the mean value of 84,79 which was categorized as good. This revealed the learning increase which was significant enough.

Abstract

Learning activities during the Covid 19 pandemic in 2020 were addressed with various innovations and creativity among teachers. The use of technology media makes the learning process active and students motivated. This classroom research was conducted by applying the Flipped Classroom learning model assisted by the Kakaotalk application and other learning media to determine the effectiveness of this model in increasing student learning interactions in Elementry Level Indonesian Speaking and Listening courses at the Department of Malay-Indonesia Translation and Interpretation of the Hankuk University of Foreign. Korean Studies. The results show that the application of the Flipped Classroom model can improve student interaction skills in speaking and listening to Indonesian material well because they have carried out intensive learning activities outside of online classes, namely using the Kakaotalk application in communicating between students and between teachers.
