Abstract

This research aimed to produce learning trajectory in learning Similarity using Origami as the context, trough Pendidikan Matematika Realistik Indonesia (PMRI) approach. The method of this research was design research that consisted of three phases namely preliminary design, design experiment (pilot experiment and teaching experiment) and retrospective analysis. The research was conducted in Sekolah Dasar Negeri 24 Palembang. Data collection was obtained by interviews, observations, video recording, collecting student work, pre-test and post-test. The results of this research showed that Learning Trajectory (LT) which contained a series of learning process using Origami could help students to find the concept of Similarity.

Abstract

The phenomenon of code-switching is an important issue in bilingualism. Many researchers have investigated its value in formal classroom teaching and learning activity. Code-switching in this study refers to the alternation of two languages, English and Indonesians, which happens during a conversation in social media. This study identified types and topics as well as investigated the factors that affect code switching in the online chatroom among 96 bilingual young adults. Cross-sectional survey design was used in this study. The data were collected through review of chats, questionnaire, and interview. Later, the data were analysed by using the statistics. The findings from the study revealed that the alumni of SMAN Sumatera Selatan mostly used intrasentential code- switching (67%), were interested in the topics of social, health, economics, politics, education, and technology, and their primary factor or reason of using code-switching was avoiding misunderstanding (75%). Other noted factors were: being easier to speak in own language (52.5%), not knowing the English words (28.7%), not similar words in L1/L2 (27.5%), filling the stopgap (25%), adding emphasis (25%), conveying intimacy (18.8%), and privacy (18.8%). In addition, the data revealed that the factors and the topics had a significant connection. Finally, codeswitching can be a useful strategy in online interaction if the aim is to maintain solidarity in an efficient way.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to know the part of learning trajectory supporting the student understanding on learning arithmetic sequence and series using tradisional handycraft songket Palembang with PMRI approach and describe learning students activity proccess of class X in learning mathematics so that can develop informal activity become formal when learning arithmetic sequence and series. The method used in this study is the Design Research that consists of three stages: preliminary, design of experiment (pilot experiments and teaching experiment) and restrospective analysis. The subjects consisted of 29 students of class X. This study resulted in Learning Trajectory (LT), which contains a series of learning process that helps students find the concept of arithmetic sequence and series. At the informal level, students use the context of songket Palembang to find rules of arithmetic sequence and series. In preformal level, students begin composing and drawing motif images of songket as of arithmetic sequences, using pieces of motifs songket as a model of what they consider to be a songket which led to a model for the arithmetic sequences in finding the n and number of first n terms of arithmetic series. While on a formal level the students is able to resolve the problem by using contextual knowledge and their experience at the previous level

Abstract

This study aimed at developing a module of teachers’ professionalism based effective teachers’ theory which valid, practical and effective. The development of this module used ADDIE Model. The research was conducted in SMP Negeri 7,15 and 35 Palembang. Data were collected through observation, interview, questionnaire, and test. The data were analyzed by using qualitative and quantitative approach. The results showed that teachers have started to know and understand how to manage the classroom effectively after they gain insight from the module on teachers professionalism based on effective teachers’ theory. The module was also valid, practical and effective after being tested.

Abstract

Along with the age increase, most elder people are lazy to exercise, doing physical activity regularly and periodically will make the cognitive function better . When performing physical activity, the brain will be stimulated to increase the protein in the brain called Brain Derived Neutrophic Factor. BDNF is an important role to keep the nerve cells healthy and fit. The aim for this study is to analyze the influence of programmed physical activity on BDNF serum levels in elderly people at healthy heart palembang clubs. This study is a Cross Sectional research with sample used are elderly people who regularly do programmed physical activity at Club Jatung Sehat Kambang Iwak Palembang Branch. Sample in this Research are the healthy elderly and are over 60 years old, in total of 25 people. Result of analysis of the influence between the level of physical activity with the function of BDNF serum level in elder people was obtained and shows that respondents with regular physical activity have a good level of BDNF serum. The statistical test result obtained shows a significant increase of BDNF levels ( p = 0,014 ) thus can be concluded that there are influence among activity level against BDNF serum levels on elderly.

Abstract

The function of composition is one of the important material in Mathematics learning because it makes calculation in daily activities easier, for example, in process of book production, metal recycle, change of golden into jewelery, and also in economics, physics, geography and sociology fields. The purpose of this working paper is to describe about enjoyable mathematics learning in composition function material through Pendekatan Pembelajaran Pendidikan matematika Realistik Indonesia (PMRI). In the fact, the students of learning achievement in composition function in class is less satisfy. Most of students get some difficulties to determine about two functions. Therefore, the learning which is able to assist students more interesting in learning and to increase their concept to develop comprehension is needed. This paper will be explain about PMRI which create the students more effective and enjoyable through water bill in mathematics learning such composition function material.

Abstract

This study aims to produce the student worksheet designs based on MEAs. In designing it uses the development of ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation) models. This study only steps were taken to analyze and design. In the analysis phase, an assessment of basic competencies is carried out. Next, it composes indicators based on basic competencies. Beside that, researchers also study the MEAs approach. After the first step, proceed with compiling student worksheet.

Abstract

This research is a qualitative research that aims to describe students 'understanding of problems solving the problem and also to describe students' belief about their solution to problems solving. The subjects of this study were 6 students in SMP Palembang that consisting of 2 high-ability students, 2 medium-skilled students, and 2 low-ability students. Data obtained through written test and interview. The results of this study indicate that only high-ability and medium-skilled students are able to understand the problem. This is illustrated by the verbal arguments given by the students when asked to explain the problem situation and to represent it in non-formal form. If viewed from the aspect of students' beliefs about their solution in problem-solving, seen almost all students are not sure with the answer he wrote. This is due to the limited ability of mathematical students and the lack of knowledge of students in writing mathematical models or confusion in using appropriate strategies to solve the problem.

Abstract

This research is a descriptive study that aims to describe the ability to understand mathematical concepts in grade 12 7 in SMA 1 Palembang through learning assisted Grapher application on android. The subjects of this study consisted of 30 students. The instrument used was observation and test. Observations were used to collect data about learning and tests were used to see the ability to understand students' mathematical concepts. The results of the study concluded that the ability of students' understanding of rational function material, limitless to algebraic functions and infinite limits on categorized trigonometric functions was quite good. In the material of rational function, students were misconstrued due to being trapped in images that appear to be congruent. Even though the pictures were not congruent. Still related to the material of rational function, the presentation of a picture that was not right in terms of scale and form of sketches caused students to misinterpret the problem and make conclusions. Specifically for infinite limit material for both algebraic and trigonometric functions, the low scores of students on the concept comprehension tests were caused by students being less careful in calculating.
