Al-Jabar : Jurnal Pendidikan Matematika, with registered number p-ISSN: 2086-5872 (print), e-ISSN: 2540-7562 (online), is a scientific journal published by Mathematics Education IAIN Raden Intan Lampung. The aim of this journal publication is to disseminate new theories and research results that have been achieved in the area of mathematics education. Al-Jabar: Jurnal Pendidikan Matematika, particularly focuses on the main issues in the development of the sciences of mathematics education, mathematics education, and applied mathematics. Al-Jabar, has been published since 2010, and starting from 2015, has been published online. Al-Jabar: Jurnal Pendidikan Matematika published twice a year, the period from January to June and July to December. This publication is available online via open access.

There are several factors that with low learning outcomes of learners, the most important is the low interest of learners to follow the lesson well and earnestly. Lack of strong motivation to be one cause of low interest learners learners. This study aims to improve the ability to understand the mathematical concepts of the subject matter kesebangunan. The benefits of this research is to provide input in choosing a varied learning model that can improve the learning outcomes of learners mathematics as well as information materials for other researchers. The research method used is experimental research with right t test with population class IX SMP Negeri 3 Bandar Lampung. The results showed that learning mathematics with VCD media learning on the ability of understanding the concept of class IX students SMP Negeri 3 Bandar Lampung semester I on the subject matter kesebangunan more effective than conventional learning, it is seen from the ability to understand the concept of learners better than conventional learning . Thus learning mathematics with VCD media learning on the subject matter kesebangunan can be used as an alternative method in learning in order to increase the variety of teaching methods in the effort to train the skills of reasoning and communication of learners and improve learning outcomes of learners.

Opportunity theory is a branch of mathematics concerned with opportunities, analysis of random phenomena. The main objects of opportunity theory are random variables, stochastic processes, and events: a non-deterministic mathematical abstraction of measurable events or quantities that can be either single events or develop over time in seemingly random modes. If individual coins throw or dice rolls are considered random events, then if repeated sequences of random events will show certain patterns, which can be learned and predicted. Two representative mathematical results illustrating such patterns are the laws of large numbers and the central limit theorem. As a mathematical basis for statistics, probability theory is important for many human activities that involve quantitative analysis of large sets of data. The method of opportunity theory also applies to complex system descriptions given only partial knowledge of their country, as in statistical mechanics. A great discovery of twentieth-century physics is the nature of probability of physical phenomena on the atomic scale, described in quantum mechanics.

Structural Equation Model (SEM) was known as powerfull and popular multivariate analysis technique. It provides a comprehensive method for the quantification and testing of theories. The ability of this model is to test model with multiple dependent that more powerfull than multiple regression, it’s also can make some simultaneously model in one form. Data was used from Holzinger and Swineford that measured intellegence in several indicator. This model was lack of form and performance that can be showed in value of Chi-square. Akaike Information Criterion (AIC) and Chi-square value for specificly in block “male” was less than “female”, so the result gave structural model for block male was better than female.

Pendidikan matematika selama ini tidak berhasil meningkatkan pemahaman matematika yang baik pada siswa, tetapi berhasil menumbuhkan perasaan takut, persepsi terhadap matematika sebagai ilmu yang sukar dikuasai, tidak bermakna, membosankan, menyebabkan stres pada diri siswa. Kreativitas dalam berfikir sangat mempengaruhi proses belajar. Kemampuan matematika bagi siswa dalam proses belajar selanjutnya maka masalah rendahnya hasil belajar matematika siswa dan sikap siswa terhadap matematika yang cenderung negatif perlu diupayakan pemecahannya.Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode tes. Validitas data dalam penelitian ini dilakukan dengan meningkatkan ketekunan dan triangulasi waktu. Adapun teknik analisis data dilakukan dengan reduksi data dilakukan dengan cara memilih hasil pengerjaan siswa. Hasil reduksi yang telah dipaparkan, kemudian dipaparkan dalam bentuk analisis.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: 1) Mempelajari pola bilangan lebih menarik dan mudah jika menggunakan pendekatan matematika realistik. 2). Pembelajaran matematika realistik memperkenalkan masalah yang bersifat aplikatif dalam kehidupan sehari-hari sehingga pembelajaran akan lebih bermakna. 3) Pembelajaran matematika realistik menekankan pada penanaman konsep pemahaman, kreativitas siswa dan poses nalar dalam matematika.

Lack of mathematical problem solving ability of students in Bandar Lampung MAN 2 due learners trouble completing math problems and students rarely ask questions or express ideas workmanship. This study aims to determine the effect of mathematical problem solving ability of student who take the learning by using the Creative Problem Solving learning model the students who take the Creative Problem Solving learning model which aided media Maple 11 and students who follow conventional teaching methods conducted by researchers at the students of class XI the MAN 2 Bandar Lampung.This research is a quantitative type of experimentation with Quasy Experimental Design. In this study a total population of 121 students with sampling techniques in this study using a sample saturated. There are significant CPS assisted learning Maple 11 on problem solving skills of learners.

Optimum stratification is the method of choosing the best boundaries that make strata internally homogeneous, given some sample allocation. In order to make the strata internally homogenous, the strata should be constructed in such a way that the strata variances for the characteristic under study be as small as possible. This could be achieved effectively by having the distribution of the main study variable known and create strata by cutting the range of the distribution at suitable points. The problem of finding Optimum Strata Boundaries (OSB) is considered as the problem of determining Optimum Strata Widths (OSW). The problem is formulated as a Mathematical Programming Problem (MPP), which minimizes the variance of the estimated population parameter under Neyman allocation subject to the restriction that sum of the widths of all the strata is equal to the total range of the distribution. The distributions of the study variable are considered as continuous with standard normal density functions. The formulated MPPs, which turn out to be multistage decision problems, can then be solved using dynamic programming technique proposed by Bühler and Deutler (1975). After the counting process using C++ program received the width of each stratum. From these results the optimal boundary point can be determined for each stratum.

This study contains the group claims model as discussed by (Lee, 2007) for the pricing of natural disaster bonds. This research was conducted with several stages. First make the formula of bond price with stochastic interest rate and disaster event following non homogeneous poisson process. It further estimates the parameters of disaster loss data from the Insurance Information Institute (III) from 1989 to 2012 and interest rates from the Federal Reserve Bank. Because the determination of aggregate distribution is difficult to be exact, numerical calculation is done by mixed approach method (Gamma and Inverse Gaussian) to determine the solution of natural disaster bond price. Finally, shows how the impact of financial risk and disaster risk on the price of natural disaster bonds.

This study aims to describe the thinking process of students of MAN I Bandar Lampung based on Adversity Quotient (AQ) type climbers, campers and quitters in solving mathematical problems based on Bransford and Stein theories on equations and quadratic functions. This research is a qualitative descriptive research. Research subjects were determined through purposive sampling, and this research was conducted in class X MIA 4 MAN I Bandar Lampung with subject of 6 students divided into 3 groups. The first group consisted of 2 students of type climbers, the second group consisted of 2 students of campers, and the third group consisted of 2 students of type quitters. To determine the type of Adversity Quotient (AQ) of the subject to be selected, the ARP test is used. The data collection technique in this study uses the test method, unstructured interview method conducted on selected subjects and documentation method. Data analysis techniques through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. Written test result data is analyzed based on indicators that meet conceptual, semiconceptual, and computational thinking processes. The technique of data validity is done by using triangulation technique comparing data of test result and interview result to subject of climbers, campers and quitters. Based on the data analysis results obtained that the subject with the type Adversity Quotient (AQ) each has a different thinking process. Subjects with type climbers tend to have a conceptual thinking process in solving mathematical problems based on Bransford and Stein theories. Subjects with type campers tend to have a semiconceptual thinking process in solving mathematical problems based on Bransford and Stein theories, and subjects with type quitters in solving problems based on Bransford and Stein theories tend to have a computational thinking process.

This research is a comparative causal research with factorial design 3 3. The population of this study is all students of class VIII SMP Negeri 1 Simpang Pematang. Sampling was done by cluster random sampling. The sample of this research is students of class VIII B and VIII D. Instruments used to collect data is a test of learning achievement, mathematical reasoning test and student motivation questionnaire. Prior to use for data retrieval, achievement test instruments, reasoning tests and motivational questionnaires were first tested in mathematics. Hypothesis test using two way Anava test with unequal cell. The conclusions of this study are: (1) Students with high mathematical reasoning ability have better learning achievement than students with moderate mathematical reasoning ability, students have better learning achievement than students with low mathematical reasoning, and students with ability High mathematical reasoning has better learning achievement than students with low mathematical reasoning ability, (2) Students with high learning motivation have better learning achievement than students with moderate learning motivation, students with high learning motivation have better learning achievement than Students with low learning motivation, and students with learning motivation are having better learning achievement than students with low learning motivation, (3) There is no interaction between mathematical reasoning ability and motivation of learning mathematics to learning achievement Ar math.

This study aims to determine the effect of mathematical problem solving ability of learners who follow the learning by using an instructional model of maple assisted software assisted, with learners who use, study group investigation model, as well as learners who follow the conventional learning model conducted by researchers on participants Students of class X SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Metro. This type of research is a quasi experimental research with posttest only control design design. Hypothesis test using a one-way anava test with unequal cells and obtained the conclusion that the model of group investigation learning is better than an instructional model of maple assisted software group and both models of learning is better than conventional learning model. Based on the results of analysis and discussion of research data obtained that there is an influence on the ability of solving mathematical problems among students in class applying group investigation model assisted maple software, students in class apply only group investigation learning model, and students whose class apply the conventional learning model on the principal Discussion of the matrix.
