Abstract

The notion of work-life balance (WLB), which integrates two primary dimensions, engagement in work and non-work life, and minimum conflict between social role in one’s work and in one’s life has evolved from a review of much of the literature in previous research. Beside that, the identification of antecedent variables from both individual and organizational levels that could affect WLB and explained their influence on WLB are also examined in this study. To fully comprehend the differences in the factors that are able to influence WLB and are affected on WLB, identification of the consequent variables from the influence of WLB is also collected. From this identification process, future study path will be identified, and these directions will have consequences of leaving gaps for in-depth investigations and implications managerial policies related to WLB.

Abstract

bjectives This paper aims to develop a theoretical and research framework by identifying behavioral biases in investment decisions and reviewing the existing literature in the field of behavioral biases related to behavior finance from the perspectives of ontology, epistemology, and axiology. This is because behavioral biases in management, and in particular financial management, remain an interesting research area. The study by Parveen, Satti, and Bashir (2021) demonstrates that heuristics and behavioral biases do exist and impact the decisions made by Pakistani investors during COVID-19. Pakistani investors have suffered a loss due to their faulty thinking. The Pakistani stock market exhibited features of dual process theory and prospect theory throughout this outbreak. Investors can employ both gut feelings and rational analysis. Since this study illuminates the impact of COVID-19 on emerging stock markets like Pakistan's, it contributes to the expanding body of scholarship on behavioral finance in developing nations.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there is a difference in the average abnormal return on shares of the tourism, hotel, restaurant, transportation, and pharmaceutical sub-sectors before and after the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic and the implementation of the new normal policies in Indonesia. This research is quantitative research with an event study approach using a purposive sampling method to determine the number of samples. The study period was limited to 5 days before the event (t-5) and 5 days after the event (t+5). The test tool used in this research is the Wilcoxon signed rank test. The results of this study showed that during the announcement of the Covid-19 pandemic in Indonesia, there was a significant difference in the average abnormal return and no significant difference in the average trading volume activity in the shares of tourism, hotel, restaurant, and the pharmaceutical sub-sector. In addition, there was no significant difference in the average abnormal return and average trading volume activity in the transportation sub-sector shares. Meanwhile, the announcement of the new normal policies showed that there was no significant difference between the average abnormal return and average trading volume activity in the shares of tourism, hotel, restaurant sub-sector, and transportation sub-sector. Moreover, there was a significant difference between the average abnormal return and average trading volume activity in shares of the pharmaceutical sub-sector.

Abstract

This study examines effect of intellectual capital on the financial performance of public hospitals in Indonesia. The effect is proxied through Value Added Intellectual Coefficient (VAIC™), consisting of Value-Added Capital Employed (VACA), Value Added Human Capital (VAHU), and Structural Capital Value Added (STVA). In addition, this study identifies differences in the influence on general and special hospitals. This study analyses the audited financial statements of 20 public hospitals with random effects approach. The results showed that VACA and STVA positively affected financial performance. In contrast, VAHU negatively affected the financial performance of all public hospitals. Although general and special hospitals have several different business models, the effect of intellectual capital on the financial performance is similar. This study provides theoretical implication to the rising stream of literature on intellectual capital in public service agencies, especially public hospitals. Public hospitals are expected to develop human capital to create added value for the organization by employing their flexibility in human resource management.

This study examines the effect of perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, perceived security and e-satisfaction on e-wallet Continuance intention of ShopeePay in generation Z in Demak City. This study aims to examine and analyze the effect of the e-satisfaction variable in mediating the perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, and perceived security on e-wallet Continuance intention. The data analysis technique used in this study is the Structural Equation Model – Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) version 3.0 analysis. This analysis technique can determine the simultaneous linear relationship between research variables and latent variables. The results of this study indicate that perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness do not have a direct influence on e-wallet Continuance intention. Meanwhile perceived security has a positive and significant effect on e-wallet Continuance intention. E-satisfaction can mediate the relationship between variables perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, and perceived security on e-wallet Continuance intention. Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of perceived ease of use and service quality on purchase decisions with trust as the intervening variable. The sampling technique used was nonprobability sampling, namely purposive sampling with a total sample of 100 respondents . The data analysis technique used in this study is Partial Least Square – Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) analysis. This analysis technique can determine the simultaneous linear relationship between research variables and latent variables. The results showed that perceived ease of use has a significant positive effect on purchase decisions. However, service quality has no significant positive effect on purchase decision. The variables perceived ease of use and service quality have a significant positive effect on trust. Then, the trust variable can positively and significantly mediate perceived of use and service quality on purchase decisions.

The results of this study indicate that simultaneously Corporate Governance, Profitability, and Tobin's Q Ratio have a significant effect on the Dividend Pay Out Ratio. While the Board of Directors, the Proportion of Independent Commissioners, and Return on Asset have negative significant affect the Dividend Pay Out Ratio. Meanwhile, Institutional Ownership, Return on Equity and Tobin’s Q Ratio show a positive and significant direction towards the Dividend Pay Out Ratio.
