Abstract

The good and bad of the nation's generation are determined by the personal formation of their respective families. Most families who are beneficiaries of the Jaya Mulia Village Family Hope Program have a background as laborers, so families have to work hard to meet basic needs and neglect their children's education. This study aims to determine the role and constraints faced in children's education and the benefits of the “Program Keluarga Harapan” assistance in the education component. The research uses qualitative methods and data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documentation. The results showed four kinds of parental roles: modeling, mentoring, organizing, and teaching. However, not all parents carry out their role because there are several obstacles such as limited time, education level, and the social environment's influence. One of the efforts made by the government to improve the quality of education is through PKH. PKH not only assists in the form of cash but also provides training, guidance and motivation to parents in providing better care, protection and education for their children. This research is expected to contribute ideas to the community that parents have greater responsibilities.

Transportation is the activity of transporting goods or passengers from one place to another. Transportation is very important because transportation is something that makes it easier for the general public to reach their goals. The study used a qualitative descriptive approach located in the city of Semarang. Research focuses on socio-economic studies of online drivers. Results of the study, online drivers show that most of them have secondary education. Monthly income range of Rp. 4,000,000,- (four million rupiah), being an online driver, although not an option, can improve the economic welfare of online drivers and their families, especially in meeting basic needs. To meet the needs of daily life, including the cost of children's education, it is done sparingly. This shows that there is a relationship between the level of education completed and the work they have, meaning that the higher a person's level of education will provide the possibility to get a better job.

Abstract

A multicultural school environment makes it easier for students to understand multicultural values. Still, on the other hand, it provides difficulties for students, such as the adaptation process that is not easy due to background differences. This article examines the inculcation of multicultural values in social studies learning. It also discusses the actualization of multicultural values in students' social attitudes. This study also analyses the role of the social environment in supporting the actualization of multicultural values by students. The qualitative approach used is a collective case study design. The results showed that teachers had difficulties making various learning methods and media in the planning stages of social studies learning. At the implementation stage, there were problems with insufficient school infrastructure, and in the evaluation, many students violated the school. Language actualization is going well. Students learn each other's language, some students have difficulty adapting to ethnicity, and a form of cultural actualization is holding an endog parade. The social environment's role is essential in actualizing multicultural values by students. Through multicultural learning, it is expected that students can behave by the multicultural values contained in society.

Abstract

To solve increasing population in Indonesia, population education can be implemented in school. The purpose of this study was to analyze the integration of population education in SSK as an effort to realize a planned generation. A phenomenological design with an interview, observation, and documentation was employed in this research. The study's results showed that the integration process of population education in secondary schools occurred through teaching and learning and extracurricular activities, school programs, and pojok kependudukan (population corner). The integration of population education in SSK is inseparable from adaptation, goal attainment, integration, and latency, creating a substantial value and resilience system. The novelty of the research lies in the analysis of Talcott Parsons' structural-functional theory to integrate SSK for the Planned Generation with an adaptation process, where students learn about various population issues. The integration of multiple parties raises students' self-awareness to reach marriage-age maturity, avoiding premarital sex, and sustainably maintain their reproductive health. However, the iintegration requires a more effective delivery medium for the current generation. Therefore, it is necessary to use technology-based population education media that students can utilize. Meanwhile, for science, population-based technology can also be an innovation in streamlining the integration process of population education.

Abstract

Social resilience is one of the vital social capitals for youth, especially in Bandarharjo, North Semarang, a marginalized area with many juvenile delinquents. Social resilience is an attempt to transform social behavior in a place that is safe, conducive, and upholds tolerance. Therefore, this article aims to examine the social institution's role in building youths' social resilience in Bandarharjo North Semarang and analyze the youths' social resilience in Bandarharjo with Bourdieu's theory as the leading theory. This research employed a qualitative approach with a phenomenological description study that investigated the individual's subjective experience through the social institution leaders and youths in Bandarharjo. The results showed that the social institutions involved in the establishment of social resilience are family, village community, religious institutions, and educational institutions; youth social resilience predominantly comes from religious and family social institutions; and social resilience can alter most of the negative behaviors of marginalized youth in Bandarharjo and sustain them through internal and external negative influences. This research reinforces Bourdieu's theory that a good environment and social capital affect individuals' habits in developing social resilience.
