Abstract

Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) is a critical component in fostering teamwork, building a positive organizational climate, and driving collective performance. Yet, many employees, especially those in operational roles, demonstrate low to moderate levels of OCB, which can hinder organizational effectiveness. While previous research has largely explored personality traits or leadership influences on OCB, limited studies have tested structured interventions designed to enhance OCB by developing proactive behavior in employees. This study addresses this gap by implementing a proactive personality training program and evaluating its impact on OCB among employees in a production unit. Using a quasi-experimental design, the training was delivered to a group of employees identified with low to moderate OCB levels, while a comparable group served as a control. OCB was assessed before and after the intervention using a validated measurement tool. The results showed clear improvements in OCB following the training, with trained employees demonstrating more cooperative, helpful, and initiative-driven behaviors in the workplace. These findings suggest that proactive personality traits can be cultivated through training and have meaningful effects on organizational functioning. This study offers a practical and scalable strategy to promote prosocial workplace behavior and contributes a novel perspective to intervention-based OCB research.

Abstract

Emotional self-regulation plays an essential role within early childhood education, laying the groundwork for children to cope with emotions and build healthy interactions with others. This research analyses the improvement of preschool aged children’s emotional self-regulation using a quantitative quasi-experimental approach with a pre-test post-test group design with the Emo-Sisi “Understanding Emotion” Board Game. Emo-Sisi Board Game, by Watiek Ideo is an interactive educational game for preschoolers to identify, understand, and regulate emotions. The sample included 50 preschool children, 25 in an intervention group who engaged in structured board game sessions and 25 in a control group who received standard classroom activities. PreBERS scale was utilized to assess emotional self-regulation via pre-test as well as post-test measures. Two-tailed paired independent t- tests and the Wilcoxon signed rank test were used to analyse data. The results demonstrated that the intervention group performed significantly better than the control group on emotional recognition, emotional expression, and application of self-regulation strategies. These insights indicate that the Emo-Sisi Board Game helps to enhance emotional self-regulation skills for preschool children. Future studies are warranted to explore the long-term consequences of these interventions and their effects on wider developmental domains.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the influence of traditional parenting styles based on the local cultural value of “Mon Niku Kawai Handak Nyak Kawai Handak Munih” on the psychological well-being of adolescents. This value emphasizes balance in social relationships and serves as a fundamental principle in traditional parenting practices in Ogan Komering Ulu Timur. The sample consisted of 118 adolescents aged 12–21 years, selected using purposive sampling techniques. The instruments used included the Parental Authority Questionnaire (PAQ) and Ryff’s Psychological Well-Being Scale. Data were analyzed using simple linear regression JASP software. The results showed a significant influence of traditional parenting styles on psychological well-being. Proportional implementation of traditional parenting styles can improve dimensions of positive relationships with others and self-acceptance. This study provides important insights into parenting practices within the context of local culture, serving as a reference for developing interventions to enhance adolescents’ psychological well-being and contributing to the cross-cultural psychology literature.

Abstract

This research investigates the impact of father involvement on the self-esteem of individuals in early adulthood. Employing a quantitative approach, the study utilized a father involvement scale adapted from Risnawati et al. grounded in the theoretical framework of Gancy and Van Dulman, alongside a modified version of Rosenberg’s Self-Esteem Scale as adapted by Maroqi. The sample consisted of 188 male and female participants aged 18 to 25 who currently reside with their fathers. Participants were selected through an accidental sampling technique. Data analysis using simple linear regression revealed a statistically significant relationship between father involvement and self-esteem. These findings indicate a positive and meaningful contribution of father involvement to the development of self-esteem during early adulthood.

Abstract

Academic buoyancy is a positive psychology construct that is the ability to bounce back from academic challenges and obstacles that individuals commonly experience on a daily basis. The purpose of this study is to determine the trend of research mapping related to academic buoyancy using bibliometric analysis and to recognize the novelty of topics that can later be studied by future researchers. The method used in this research is a systematic literature review with bibliometric analysis. Data collection was carried out in April 2025 with the Publish or Perish (PoP) application and using a database from Google Scholar with the keyword academic buoyancy in scientific journal publications in 2015-2024 so that 994 scientific journals were obtained. In VOSviewer bibliometric analysis, researchers conduct data analysis and visualization starting from the analysis of the topics studied, network visualization analysis, overlay visualization, density visualization, and connected authorship visualization. The results of the bibliometric analysis with the keyword academic buoyancy obtained novelty findings in this study, namely topics related to peers, positive youth development, classroom environment, mattering, self-efficacy, school burnout, achievement motivation, academic buoyancy scale.  Some of these research topics can be used as suggestions for future researchers to further develop academic buoyancy derived topics in order to disseminate and strengthen knowledge development that has the potential to foster innovation and novelty

Abstract

There is a sub-culture of hijab erotica in a country where hijab used to be a symbol of rebellion against the oppressive regime and became a conservative norm in a conservative-leaning society that rejects pornography. Researcher gathered erotic stories from an internet forum involving the characters of hijabi women as the main character. Through thematic analysis, researcher found several key themes in the stories. The themes are the identity of hijabi women as both familiar and exotic, the erotic transgression in sexual acts, the allure of innocent women, and hijab as a significant accessory in sexual intercourse. The result of this research strengthens the notion of pornography as an everchanging historical record that caught the nuance of how people view sex and its expression in any particular era of interest.
