Abstract

Since the policy of sending students home to study as a result of responding to the dangers of the pandemic, universities around the world have increasingly trusted distance learning solutions. The solution was to rely on digital literacy to continue and improve student learning outcomes during the COVID-19 disruption. For this reason, the researchers have proven it through analytical efforts and in-depth studies in several international publications. In short, the researchers examined each piece of evidence with a phenomenological approach to get answers to research questions that are among other things, involve a data coding system, critical evaluation, and drawing of valid and reliable final results. The data discussion concludes that world universities believe that digital technology that was increasingly trending can become a learning innovation even though the world will continue to hit global education. Hence, the researchers hope that these findings should support other studies in the future. Keywords: Digital Literacy, Learning Outcomes, Entrust Digital Literacy

Abstract

The air quality index (AQI) in Papua has the best index among other provinces in Indonesia. Papua has different geographical and social conditions than western Indonesia. In particular, forests in Papua are more numerous with fewer industries and automobiles than provinces in western Indonesia. The article aims to determine respondents' perceptions related to climate change awareness and pro-environmental behavior (PEB) in regions that have AQI in Indonesia, namely Papua. This study uses a survey strategy through a questionnaire instrument for students who have received the application of digital literacy and gamification in the English for Specific Purposes class. The questionnaire was distributed to be filled in by respondents with a total number of responses totaling 164 responses from students of engineering faculty. This study identified that respondents' awareness of climate change was in the moderately aware category (M = 3.8). These findings are directly proportional to PEB respondents who are at the middle level (M = 3.9). Furthermore, analysis of the data shows that respondents are highly aware (M = 4.3) that humans have a responsibility for climate change, and respondents are highly concern (M = 4.4) to carry out forestation both by individuals and community. The finding implication of this study is learning through digital literacy and gamification has a positive potential to be applied through policy and developed into a learning model to increase awareness of climate change and PEB. Abstract

The article was an investigation into the nature of organisational sustainability in Indonesian schools. Through an extensive reading and analysis of literature on organisational studies, this research examined the possibility of integrating key aspects of learning from change situations into systemic approaches to the organisational design of schools in Indonesia. Within Indonesia’s educational context, continually changing environmental conditions were made even more problematic for schools because political and public policy instability regularly enters their organisational life and educational projects. The reasons were multifarious and nuanced as to how they impact schools working in particular contexts, including: (1). Regular and significant curriculum change policies in recent years; (2) Public policy change and expectations for addressing change at the school level within very short time frames; and (3) How an ever-changing policy environment was made more complex for those schools located in geographically isolated locales within large scale logistical considerations for the Indonesian schools that must adapt, adopt or fail. The result show that key dimensions of Dynamic Capability was pertinent as an approach to investigate and understand the adaptation process of Indonesian schools. The three core components of dynamic capability namely, sensing, seizing, and transforming were recommended as a way to portray schools’ actions toward the uncertain public policy in Indonesia. Abstract

This article revisited the relevance of returning students home's national policy while avoiding the dangers of coronavirus 2019 in the school environment. There has been no medical certainty stating that the danger of the Coronavirus spread among schools is that the government must issue policies that are without good reason as the safest solution. On the other hand, the policy of returning students to study at home also raises some doubts. This study intended to examine various literatures on the suitability of government policies regarding school closures that have been running for almost one year. The data were then analyzed using a descriptive phenomenological approach to obtain medical reasons related to the risk of spreading the virus among school adolescents. Finally, the researchers found that the government policy to repatriate students is still motivated by excessive concern about the transmission of the epidemic among students in the school environment. Until now, the government has not had a strong reason to close schools to avoid the virus. On the other hand, this policy may impact on student learning and other socio-economic disadvantages. Thus, the government would consider these findings in evaluating policies related to overcoming the dangers of the pandemic in the school environment, which consider the disadvantages of education.
