Abstract

In this digital era, conventional learning methods need to be adapted to maintain student interest and promote critical literacy more strategically through an interactive narrative approach. This article aims to examine the implementation procedures of interactive narratives as well as the use of digital media in primary education to improve children's language skills, including listening abilities and speaking confidence. By applying descriptive analysis on various pedagogical models, this study highlights systematic stages in storytelling, starting from media preparation to students being able to tell stories independently. The analysis results indicate that the implementation of interactive narratives, especially with the use of digital media such as Canva and CapCut applications, can shift the role of students from passive receivers to active participants. This approach not only improves language skills and social competence, but also serves as a powerful means of instilling character values and preserving local culture. Therefore, the implementation of structured interactive narratives becomes a strong foundation for enhancing critical thinking skills, creativity, and strengthening the cultural identity of elementary school students in this digital era.

Abstract

Curriculum planning is a strategic aspect of educational management that determines the direction of graduate competency development in the digital era. Islamic Religious Higher Education institutions are required to integrate Islamic values with developments in science and technology in order to remain relevant to the needs of society and the world of work. This study aims to analyze the curriculum planning model at UIN K.H. Abdurrahman Wahid Pekalongan in facing the challenges of digital transformation without neglecting Islamic values. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation study. The main informant of the study was the Head of the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) Study Program at UIN K.H. Abdurrahman Wahid Pekalongan. The results show that curriculum planning is carried out participatively by involving university leaders, lecturers, students, alumni, graduate users, and quality assurance institutions through needs analysis, discussion forums, workshops, curriculum mapping, and continuous evaluation. The curriculum is designed based on the vision of integrating Islam, science, and technology and accommodates the strengthening of digital literacy, religious moderation, professional competence, and the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based technology. Nevertheless, the implementation of the digital curriculum still faces constraints in the form of limited technological infrastructure, internet bandwidth, and the digital literacy of some lecturers. The conclusion of this study affirms that the success of curriculum planning at UIN K.H. Abdurrahman Wahid Pekalongan is determined by the institution’s ability to integrate Islamic values, technological innovation, and continuous evaluation. The implications of this study contribute to the development of a curriculum planning model for Islamic Religious Higher Education that is adaptive to digital transformation and oriented toward producing graduates who are competent, adaptive, and characterized by strong values.

Abstract

Family conflict is a fairly common phenomenon that can affect children’s lives, particularly in mental and emotional aspects. This study aims to identify the causes of family conflict, its impact on young children, and the role of the Child Protection Agency in assisting with its management. This study employs a qualitative method using a literature review approach sourced from various books and scientific journals. The findings indicate that family conflicts can be triggered by ineffective communication, differing perspectives, economic issues, and the involvement of third parties. Ongoing conflicts can cause children to feel insecure, experience anxiety, suffer from reduced self-confidence, and face difficulties in social interaction. Furthermore, a dysfunctional family environment also influences the process of a child’s personality development from an early age. In this context, the Child Protection Agency plays a crucial role in providing guidance, protection, and support for the child’s psychological recovery. However, its implementation still faces various challenges, necessitating collaboration among various stakeholders to support children’s well-being.

Abstract

Learning for deaf children requires media that suits the characteristics of visual learning so that the material can be understood more effectively. One innovation that can be implemented is the use of educational games as an interactive and fun learning medium. This study aims to describe the implementation and analyze the effectiveness of an educational game of guessing the hijaiyah letters in the learning of deaf children at TPQ As-Sakinah. The study used a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were obtained through observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation, then analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that the implementation of the educational game was carried out through a group game of guessing the hijaiyah letters using simple media such as letter cards, a whiteboard, and sign language. The implementation of this game was able to increase student participation, motivation, concentration, and social interaction during the learning process. In addition, the educational game helped deaf children recognize the hijaiyah letters, improved memory, and facilitated understanding of the material through a visual approach that suited their learning needs. Although there are differences in abilities and needs for assistance for each student, the use of educational games has been proven to create a more active, collaborative, and enjoyable learning atmosphere. Thus, educational games can be an effective alternative learning medium to support Islamic Religious Education for deaf children.

Abstract

Learning evaluation is an essential component of the educational process, as it measures students’ achievement of learning competencies and serves as a basis for improving the quality of instruction. This article aims to examine the concept of learning evaluation, the characteristics of test and non-test instruments, the principles of instrument development, their implementation in learning, and the challenges and innovations of educational assessment in the digital era. The study employs a library research method by reviewing relevant books and scholarly articles. The findings indicate that test instruments effectively assess students’ cognitive abilities based on the principles of validity, reliability, objectivity, and practicality. In contrast, non-test instruments are designed to evaluate affective and psychomotor domains through observation, interviews, questionnaires, portfolios, and performance assessments. The development of both types of instruments should adhere to the principles of validity, objectivity, accountability, and continuity. Furthermore, innovations such as authentic assessment, digital-based evaluation, Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) assessment, e-portfolios, and learning analytics contribute to more comprehensive and effective learning evaluation. The integration of test and non-test instruments is expected to enhance the quality of learning and support continuous educational improvement.
