Abstract

Civic engagement—encompassing social awareness, volunteerism, political participation, activism, and communal solidarity—is an indispensable pillar of modern nationhood. Such proactive involvement is non-negotiable for the preservation of democratic institutions and the construction of an equitable, robust civil society. Employing a rigorous literature review methodology, this study critically analyses peer-reviewed journals, academic monographs, and institutional documents to synthesise existing theoretical frameworks and empirical evidence. This approach forcefully addresses prevailing methodological gaps to establish a solid conceptual foundation for subsequent analysis. Citizen engagement, whether manifested through grassroots activism or formal political avenues, explicitly frames specific socio-political issues within the juridical parameters of citizenship—specifically, the reciprocal rights and obligations binding the individual to the state. Furthermore, the collective mobilisation of communities demonstrates a clear capacity to shape public policy and secure equitable jurisprudential outcomes. Ultimately, this study asserts a comprehensive paradigm of civic engagement within the citizenship continuum, unequivocally elucidating the critical mechanisms required to achieve absolute participatory parity.

Abstract

The Society 5.0 era has given rise to new citizenship challenges in the digital space, such as hoaxes, polarization of public opinion, hate speech, and low civic literacy. Civic education needs to transform from a theoretical approach to contextual, critical, and digital-based learning. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of issue-based civic education learning integrated with digital media in improving students' civic literacy in the era of Society 5.0. This approach places contemporary socio-political issues as the learning context that allows students to analyze real cases, test citizenship concepts reflectively, and formulate responsible civic attitudes and actions. The use of digital media strengthens this process by providing actual information sources, collaborative discussion spaces, and interactive media that encourage critical thinking and information literacy skills. The results of the study show that the integration of current issues and digital media has the potential to improve students' civic literacy, especially in terms of understanding citizenship issues, critical analysis skills, and awareness and responsibility in socio-political participation. Thus, this learning model is relevant to the character of Society 5.0 as a pedagogical innovation to strengthen civic competencies that are adaptive to the dynamics of digital society.

Abstract

Pembelajaran IPS di sekolah dasar seringkali dianggap membosankan karena sifat materinya yang abstrak, terutama pada topik keberagaman budaya, sehingga berdampak pada rendahnya keterlibatan siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan dan menguji kelayakan media pembelajaran berbasis Augmented Reality (AR) pada materi keberagaman budaya. Metode yang digunakan adalah Research and Development (R&D) dengan model pengembangan ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media AR dinyatakan "Sangat Layak" oleh ahli materi (90%) dan ahli media (91%). Uji coba pada pengguna menunjukkan respon siswa sebesar 96% dan respon guru sebesar 100%, serta nilai rata-rata evaluasi siswa mencapai skor sempurna 100. Implikasi penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa media AR mampu memberikan pengalaman belajar imersif yang menjembatani konsep budaya yang abstrak menjadi konkret bagi siswa sekolah dasar.
