Abstract

This The purpose of this study is to find out how adolescent social behavior is related to fatherless status. The absence of a father figure in a child's life, both physically and emotionally, is referred to as fatherless status. Social behavior is the way a person interacts well with others such as cooperating, empathizing, and communicating. This study used a correlational quantitative method with 118 respondents from Ibs Nur Shofin Junior High School. This study used the Father-Love Absence Scale (FLAS) instrument used to measure fatherless status and the Social Skills Improvement System-Rating Scale (SSIS-RS) used to measure adolescent social behavior. Assumption tests including normality and linearity were conducted, and the results showed that the assumptions were met for the Pearson correlation test to be used. The results showed a significant moderate negative relationship between social behavior and fatherless status (r = -0.416, p < 0.01). That is, the higher the level of fatherlessness, the lower the social behavior exhibited by adolescents. This study confirms the important role fathers play in supporting adolescents' social development and may serve as a basis for social and educational interventions.

Abstract

Information technology is developing rapidly, especially for smartphone users. Smartphones have become a communication and information tool in everyday life. The activity of using smartphones with excessive intensity can cause various impacts on users, such as nomophobia. Someone who is unable to exercise self-control in using a smartphone or has low self-control will be susceptible to addiction. The research aims to determine the effectiveness of group counseling on self-management techniques to reduce nomophobia by increasing self-control. This research uses a pretest and posttest design. The subjects of this research were 10 people. The sampling used was purposive sampling. Data was collected using self-control and nomophobia questionnaires. Data analysis used mediation analysis with a bootstrap bias-corrected method with a confidential interval of 95% assisted by micro-process software (N=5000). The research results show that there is an effect of group counseling on effective self-management techniques in reducing nomophobia by increasing self-control.

Subjects were taken using purposive sampling. Respondents in this study were 155 people. Data collection used 3 instruments; gratitude scale, patience scale, and subjective well-being scale. Data analysis used multiple linear regression with the help of SPSS. The results of this research show that there is a significant correlation between gratitude and patience on subjective well-being in honorary teachers. Abstract

This study examines the correlation between empathy and bullying behavior among students at SMP Ma’arif 1 Metro. Bullying in school environments has become an increasing concern due to its negative impact on students’ psychological well-being. Previous studies suggest that empathy plays a crucial role in shaping social behavior; however, empirical findings regarding its relationship with bullying remain inconsistent. Employing a quantitative approach, this study involved a population of 321 students, with a sample of 178 students selected for analysis. Data were collected using validated instruments, including a 10-item empathy scale and a 15-item bullying behavior scale. Due to non-normal data distribution (p = 0.019), the analysis was conducted using Spearman's rank correlation. The findings reveal that both empathy and bullying behavior are at a moderate level, and there is a significant but weak positive correlation between the two variables (rₛ = 0.268, p < 0.05). This result indicates a complex relationship between empathy and bullying behavior, suggesting that other psychological or social factors may influence this association. These findings highlight the importance of considering multiple factors in developing interventions to reduce bullying, rather than focusing solely on enhancing empathy

Abstract

Adolescence is a crucial phase in identity formation that requires optimal psychological well-being. Career decision-making is one of the key factors influencing this condition. This study aims to examine the effect of career decision-making on adolescents' psychological well-being and to investigate the role of parental involvement as a moderating variable. A quantitative approach with correlational design and Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA) was employed. Participants were 118 twelfth-grade students at MA Darul A'mal, Metro City, selected through purposive sampling. Instruments included the career decision scale, parental involvement scale, and psychological well-being scale. Results showed that: (1) career decision-making had a significant positive effect on psychological well-being (B = 0.524; sig. = 0.000); (2) parental involvement significantly moderated the relationship between career decision-making and psychological well-being (B interaction = 1.822; sig. = 0.009); (3) simultaneously, the variables explained 53.7% of the variance in psychological well-being. These findings imply the importance of career guidance programs that integrate parental involvement to enhance adolescent psychological well-being.

Abstract

Aggressive behavior among students in Islamic boarding schools influenced by seniority culture has become a serious problem requiring systematic intervention. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of group counseling using a behavioral approach with modeling technique in reducing aggressive behavior among students at Walisongo Islamic Boarding School. A quasi-experimental method with a Nonequivalent Control Group Pretest-Posttest design was employed. Twenty male students from Sunan Kalijogo dormitory identified as having aggressive behavior tendencies were selected through purposive sampling based on the Buss Aggression Scale screening. The sample was divided into an experimental group (n = 10) and a control group (n = 10). The experimental group received four behavioral group counseling sessions using modeling technique, each lasting 45 minutes, while the control group received no treatment. Data were analyzed using IBM SPSS Statistics 25 with Shapiro-Wilk normality test, Levene's Test for homogeneity, paired-sample t-test, and independent-sample t-test with Welch's correction. Results showed a significant decrease in aggressive behavior scores after the intervention (t(19) = -19.965, p < 0.001), with a pretest mean of 60.45 (SD = 7.13) and posttest mean of 96.75 (SD = 3.14). These findings confirm that behavioral group counseling with modeling technique is effective in reducing aggressive behavior among students influenced by seniority culture.
