Abstract

Nurse burnout remains a critical issue in healthcare systems worldwide, particularly after the COVID-19 pandemic. Previous studies shows that burnout negatively affects nurses’ psychological well-being, organizational commitment, patient safety, and healthcare quality. Simultaneously, healthcare organizations are increasingly implementing internal marketing and digital workplace systems to improve employee experience and organizational performance. However, the integration of internal marketing and digital employee experience in reducing nurse burnout has not been comprehensively synthesized. Objective: This study aimed to systematically review evidence regarding the influence of internal marketing and digital employee experience on reducing nurse burnout. Methods: This review followed the PRISMA 2020 guideline developed by Matthew J. Page and colleagues. Literature searches were conducted using PubMed, Scopus, and Google Scholar databases from 2015–2026. Search terms included “internal marketing,” “digital employee experience,” “nurse burnout,” “organizational commitment,” and “nursing informatics.” Inclusion criteria included English-language studies involving nurses and organizational interventions related to internal marketing or digital workplace experience. Results: 27 articles were eligible and examined, and three main themes such as internal marketing, digital employee experience and major outcomes were identified. Internal marketing strategies such as leadership support, communication, empowerment, reward systems, and organizational culture consistently reduced burnout and improved organizational commitment among nurses. Digital employee experience, including digital communication systems and nursing informatics competency, positively influenced engagement and work satisfaction. However, excessive digital workload and technostress contributed to emotional exhaustion and burnout. Conclusion: Internal marketing and supportive digital employee experience are effective organizational approaches to reducing nurse burnout. Healthcare institutions should integrate employee-centered management and digital transformation strategies to improve nurse well-being and healthcare sustainability.

Abstract

Abstract

The rapid expansion of digital financial services, particularly Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL), online lending platforms, and e-commerce credit systems, has transformed consumption patterns among Generation Z. Although these services improve financial accessibility and transactional convenience, concerns have emerged regarding their psychological consequences, including anxiety, financial stress, compulsive buying behavior, and declining mental well-being. This scoping review aims to map existing evidence regarding the relationship between digital consumer debt and mental well-being among Generation Z consumers. This review employed the PRISMA Extension for Scoping Reviews (PRISMA-ScR) framework. Relevant articles published between 2019 and 2025 were identified from Google Scholar, Scopus-indexed journals, PubMed, and ScienceDirect using keywords related to BNPL, digital debt, fintech lending, Generation Z, and mental health. Inclusion criteria focused on empirical and review-based studies discussing digital borrowing behavior and psychological outcomes among young adults and Generation Z populations. A total of 15 eligible studies were analyzed. The findings indicate that digital consumer debt is consistently associated with elevated financial stress, anxiety symptoms, impulsive purchasing tendencies, emotional instability, and reduced financial well-being among Generation Z users. Several studies also highlight the role of financial literacy, self-control, and social media influence as moderating factors affecting borrowing behavior. Furthermore, easy accessibility and low perceived borrowing barriers contribute to debt normalization among younger consumers. The rapid expansion of fintech lending ecosystems therefore requires balanced approaches that simultaneously promote financial innovation, consumer accessibility, and psychological well-being protection. Without adequate financial literacy and responsible regulatory frameworks, the continued normalization of digital consumer debt may increase mental health vulnerabilities among younger generations in increasingly digitalized societies. This review concludes that while digital lending technologies provide short-term economic flexibility, excessive reliance on consumer debt may negatively influence mental well-being among Generation Z. Policymakers, educational institutions, and fintech providers should strengthen financial literacy initiatives and implement responsible lending regulations to minimize psychological risks associated with digital debt exposure.

Abstract

Cardiovascular disease remains the leading cause of mortality worldwide, with psychosocial stress, neuroendocrine dysregulation, and unhealthy lifestyle behaviors contributing significantly to its development. Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) populations provide a unique natural model for examining the relationship between structured weekly Sabbath observance and cardiovascular health. This study synthesized epidemiological, psychophysiological, and chronobiological evidence regarding the association between Seventh-day Sabbath observance and cardiovascular parameters through a theological analysis and narrative integrative review of peer-reviewed studies involving SDA populations, Sabbath observance, stress biomarkers, and circaseptan rhythms. The findings indicate that Sabbath observance promotes holistic well-being by integrating physical, mental, social, spiritual, and moral dimensions of life. Evidence consistently shows that SDA populations exhibit lower blood pressure, reduced serum cholesterol levels, and decreased cardiovascular disease risk compared with non-SDA populations. Experimental studies also report lower cortisol levels following Sabbath observance, suggesting reduced hypothalamic–pituitary–adrenal axis activation. Overall, structured weekly rest may contribute to cardiovascular protection through interconnected behavioral, psychosocial, neuroendocrine, and chronobiological mechanisms. Further longitudinal and experimental studies are needed to clarify the physiological effects specifically attributable to Sabbath observance.

Abstract

Caring is widely recognized as the essence of nursing practice and remains central to holistic patient care. Contemporary nursing literature increasingly emphasizes compassion, empathy, and spiritual care as essential dimensions of professional nursing. Within Christian nursing education, biblical narratives may provide foundational insights into caring behaviors and holistic healing. This study explores the Good Samaritan narrative in Luke 10:25–37 as a model of caring relevant to nursing practice. Using qualitative biblical exegesis and thematic content analysis, the study identifies key caring themes embedded within the narrative and relates them to Jean Watson’s Theory of Human Caring. The findings reveal seven major caring themes: compassion, presence, caring action, holistic care, sacrifice, advocacy, and human dignity. These themes demonstrate strong parallels with contemporary nursing caring theory and support the integration of biblical perspectives into holistic nursing education and practice. Also, implementing this model requires nurses’ reflective awareness to bridge the gap between administrative demands and patients’ emotional needs. The study contributes to faith integration scholarship by providing a theological and theoretical framework for understanding caring within Christian nursing. Future research may explore other biblical healing narratives and their relevance to nursing, leadership, ethics, and spiritual care.
