Abstract

The growing disconnect between academic achievement and students’ moral-social development has become a major challenge in contemporary Islamic education, particularly as character formation often remains detached from everyday classroom practice. Although Arabic language learning contains ethical, spiritual, and social dimensions rooted in Islamic traditions, it is still predominantly positioned as a technical-linguistic subject emphasizing grammar and language proficiency. This study aims to examine how Arabic language learning functions as a pedagogical medium for fostering social awareness and humble behavior among students in Islamic secondary schools. Employing a qualitative case study approach, this study involved 45 informants consisting of school leaders, Arabic language teachers, and students. Data were collected through classroom observations, semi-structured interviews, focus group discussions, and document analysis, and then analyzed using the interactive model of Huberman and Saldaña. The findings reveal that social awareness and humility are cultivated through value-oriented classroom interaction, reflective dialogue, collaborative learning, teachers’ role modeling, and school-based social activities integrated into Arabic language instruction. Ultimately, this study reconceptualizes Arabic language learning as a morally mediated social practice and positions Arabic teachers as moral agents shaping students’ ethical dispositions within Islamic educational contexts.

Abstract

This research aims to identify and describe the impact of implementing the advantages, benefits, and negative perceptions of the Merdeka Curriculum in schools and madrasas. This research is library research with a qualitative approach. Data was obtained from three sources “Google Scholar,” “ScienceDirect,” and “DOAJ.” The findings in this discussion are: First, an independent curriculum has many benefits for teachers, schools and madrasas. This includes increasing teacher creativity in teaching, learning flexibility that can be adapted to individual needs, and school and madrasah autonomy to design curricula that suit student potential and local conditions. Second, the benefits of the Independent Curriculum are increasing student creativity and independence, giving teachers freedom in choosing teaching approaches, giving schools freedom in designing the curriculum, and integrating contextual learning relevant to the social environment and students’ real lives. Third, the negative impacts of an independent curriculum include unclear understanding of the material, uneven availability of resources, unequal distribution of time there is pressure to choose a field of study, and its influence on the social environment. To overcome this impact, more equal teacher training is needed, more intensive guidance for students in choosing subjects, provision of equal educational resources across schools and madrasas, and balancing the allocation of study time to prevent disparities in academic achievement.

Abstract

One very important component in the formation of generations is how a teacher can design the learning process of Islamic religious education (PAI) optimally, and of course students are able to feel an innovation implemented by teachers in their learning process. The objectives of this study are (1) Determine the steps in designing PAI learning with supporting applications, (2) Find the benefits of the tik-tok application as a learning medium. The type used in this study is using a qualitative approach with a literature method (library research). The results in this study are to determine the steps, namely (1) Determining the structure of the material, (2) Determining the design specifications to be developed, (3) Making steps in making learning designs on available media, (4) Making elements of learning models. Then, the benefits and impact of the tik-tok application as a learning medium PAI (1) as a fun learning medium, (2) as a more active student. make schoolwork more memorable. Furthermore, supporting applications used to design PAI learning include “Benime, Text Voice Free, Picsart, Kine Master, Video ke MP3 Converter dan Google Drive”. Thus, after the learning design is made then uploaded through the Tik-Tok application as the main media.
