Abstract

This study investigates the enhancement of student learning motivation through the integration of LCD projector media and the Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) cooperative learning model in science lessons. Conducted as a Classroom Action Research (CAR), the study followed cyclical stages of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The research took place in Class VI-D of MIN 11 West Aceh during the first semester of the 2024/2025 academic year, involving 30 students (14 boys and 16 girls). Data were collected through observation, questionnaires, and documentation, and analyzed using qualitative descriptive methods. Findings indicate that (1) the use of LCD projectors combined with the STAD model was initially rated as sufficient (average score of 3.4) in Cycle I, improving to a good level (3.8) in Cycle II; (2) student motivation increased from 71.4% (moderate) in Cycle I to 92.2% (very good) in Cycle II; and (3) positive student responses rose from 59% in Cycle I to 75% in Cycle II. These results suggest that employing multimedia tools alongside cooperative learning strategies can effectively enhance motivation in science education.

The research was conducted at three state campuses in Aceh, namely Ar-Raniry State Islamic University, State Islamic Institute of Lhokseumawe, and Teungku Dirundeng Meulaboh State Islamic College, which have carried out international internship activities in the last two years. Data collection was carried out through observation, interviews, and document studies. Data analysis involved data reduction, data display, verification, and conclusion. The results of the study concluded that state Islamic universities in Aceh have conducted international teaching internship program in Malaysia and Thailand, each with its private regulations regarding implementation. The stages of these international teaching internship generally consist of planning, implementation, and post-implementation. Higher education management has a strategic role in improving the competence of prospective teachers through international internship programs that are well managed, collaborative and without eliminating local values and Acehnese culture. The pedagogical, professional, social competence and understanding of intercultural differences of prospective teachers can be improved if the international internship program is managed with an integrated approach, starting from planning, implementation, and evaluation involving various stakeholders.

Abstract

The development of a country is determined by the character of its citizen. Character education is very strategic if developed through education in schools. The history lesson is one of the right subjects to inculcate character values to students. This article aimed to describe the implementation of character values through history learning. The method of writing used was library research. The implementation of character values through history learning can be performed in the following ways; (1) designing a learning implementation plan (LIP) by including the character values to be developed by the core competence, competence standard, basic competence, content standard, and achievement indicators intended, (2) History teachers used the already compiled LIP as a guideline in delivering the lesson. The process of learning was carried out in an active, innovative, creative, effective, interesting, and fun manner centered on the students. The character values applied and developed in all activities involved in the learning process were evaluated in a systematic, measurable, and sustainable way, (3) The result from teachers’ observation and notes concerning students’ character during the learning process could be used as a basis of evaluation toward the attainment of character values implementation. Evaluation results can serve as a consideration and a conclusion describing the profile of students’ character as well as a foundation in determining follow-up actions.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to measure the improvement in learner motivation prior to and subsequent to the implementation of the problem-based learning model. This quantitative study used a single-group pretest–posttest design with a sample of 42 students in the Educational Management course. Data collection was conducted in the odd semester of the 2023/2024 academic year using a motivation questionnaire developed based on Keller's theory (1987). The data were analyzed quantitatively. The results show a significant difference in learning motivation before and after the implementation of PBL. The average increase in motivation was 9.51, with an average N-gain score of 0.23, which is classified as low. These findings indicate that PBL can increase student learning motivation in the Education Management course, even though the level of increase is still in the low category. In conclusion, the application of PBL is effective in encouraging increased motivation, but accompanying strategies—such as strengthening feedback, task differentiation, or technological support—are needed to optimize its impact.
