Abstract

Amid rapid digital transformation, the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, and increasing sustainability demands from stakeholders, organizations face complex challenges in optimizing human capital to achieve sustainable competitive advantage. Conventional approaches are often no longer sufficient. Therefore, human capital analytics has become an essential instrument in supporting data-driven decision-making, strengthening organizational agility, fostering innovation, and enhancing cross-functional collaboration (Davis & Kumar, 2024; Buchory et al., 2024). This study aims to investigate the role of HR analytics in strategic decision-making, identify the drivers of transformation and implementation barriers, and analyze their implications for various organizational performance outcomes. This research employs a mixed-methods design with two primary approaches. First, a quantitative survey was conducted involving 312 senior managers in Southeast Asia (response rate 26%) between January and September 2024, using 87 validated Likert-scale items. Second, qualitative case studies were carried out in 28 cross-sector organizations through 94 semi-structured interviews (average duration 75 minutes), direct observations, and document analysis. Data analysis was performed using multivariate techniques, including regression and correlation (e.g., r = 0.67 for the communication variable), as well as thematic coding to ensure triangulation of findings. The findings indicate that 78% of organizations initiated transformation within the last three years, primarily driven by competitive pressures (72%) and technological advancements (68%). A phased transformation approach supported by change management practices—with a budget allocation of 15–20%—achieved success rates of 71–83%. The impacts include a 34% increase in efficiency (range 18–67%), a 28% rise in customer satisfaction, a 22% improvement in employee engagement, and an 18% growth in financial margins. The primary barrier, organizational resistance (68%), was effectively mitigated through early stakeholder involvement (+140%) and intensive training programs (+165%). This study contributes by developing an evidence-based framework to strengthen HR analytics capabilities, providing actionable insights for HR practitioners, organizational leaders, and policymakers in the VUCA context of Southeast Asia, and offering recommendations for future research agendas, including longitudinal studies to examine the sustainability of transformation impacts.

Abstract

Abstract

This conceptual paper develops an integrative framework for adaptive entrepreneurship in micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Drawing on the resource-based view, dynamic capabilities, organizational learning, absorptive capacity, social capital, resilience, and entrepreneurial-ecosystem literature, the paper explains how entrepreneurial alertness, resource recombination, community embeddedness, and staged adaptation can be organized into practical managerial routines. No primary survey, interview, experimental, or statistical data are claimed. The analysis proposes a staged cycle of diagnosis, experimentation, evidence review, governance, and resource reconfiguration. It further identifies implications for owner-managers, support institutions, and future empirical research. The framework emphasizes that capability development should be proportionate to enterprise constraints and evaluated through decision quality, learning, resilience, and business outcomes rather than adoption indicators alone.

Abstract

Abstract This conceptual paper develops an integrative framework for entrepreneurial learning and market experimentation in micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). It synthesizes established literature on the resource-based view, dynamic capabilities, organizational learning, absorptive capacity, social capital, resilience, and entrepreneurial ecosystems. The analysis explains how opportunity sensing, bounded experimentation, customer evidence, learning retention, and resource discipline can be organized into proportionate managerial routines. No primary survey, interview, experimental, or statistical data are claimed. The framework proposes diagnosis, capability mapping, bounded experimentation, evidence review, governance, resource reconfiguration, and learning retention as a cumulative cycle. Implications are developed for owner-managers, support institutions, and future empirical research.

Abstract

This conceptual and integrative review develops a framework for responsible AI-assisted accounting in micro, small, and medium enterprises. It addresses the problem that accessible AI tools can strengthen accounting work while also creating risks of opaque outputs, weak source validation, privacy exposure, and excessive reliance on automated recommendations. Drawing on the resource-based view, dynamic capabilities, organizational learning, absorptive capacity, social capital, and resilience, the paper explains how task-risk classification, verified data inputs, human professional review, decision traceability, continuous control learning can be organized as mutually reinforcing routines. The proposed pathway moves from problem diagnosis and capability mapping to bounded experimentation, evidence review, resource reconfiguration, and learning retention. No primary survey, interview, experimental, administrative, or statistical data are claimed. The framework links these mechanisms to accounting reliability, timely insight, professional accountability, controlled efficiency, auditable decisions and identifies managerial, institutional, and research implications suitable for resource-constrained enterprises.

Abstract

Abstract This conceptual and integrative review develops a framework for cybersecurity governance in digital finance in micro, small, and medium enterprises. It addresses the problem that digital financial services improve speed and access while exposing MSMEs to credential theft, payment fraud, weak third-party controls, and disruptive security incidents. Drawing on the resource-based view, dynamic capabilities, organizational learning, absorptive capacity, social capital, and resilience, the paper explains how risk-based access control, transaction verification, vendor assurance, incident response discipline, security learning routines can be organized as mutually reinforcing routines. The proposed pathway moves from problem diagnosis and capability mapping to bounded experimentation, evidence review, resource reconfiguration, and learning retention. No primary survey, interview, experimental, administrative, or statistical data are claimed. The framework links these mechanisms to transaction integrity, service continuity, user confidence, controlled exposure, cyber resilience and identifies managerial, institutional, and research implications suitable for resource-constrained enterprises.
